Traditional Istrian stone house with large pool

In the very heart of hilly Istria in the village of Majeri you will find Villa EL, a holiday home only 7, 5 km drive from the nearby town of Buzet and 30 km away from the sea.
The house, originally dating from the olden days (1806), was completely restored in 2015. It extends on two floors: the ground floor houses the kitchen, dining room, living room completed with the fireplace and exit onto the balcony, and the toilet with a shower. On the first floor there are two double rooms, one single room as well as the bathroom with the balcony overlooking the swimming pool and garden.
The garden – yard includes the swimming pool, barbecue station, roofed terrace and parking spaces.
Surrounded by pristine nature the house stands in the vicinity of wine yards, olive groves and orchards, giving you the unique chance to taste homemade Istrian traditional food, local wine, olive oil as well as the world renown truffles. This is the ideal spot for those who love nature, walks, hiking and cycling, especially along the famous Parenzana track. Here you will find peace, tranquillity, relax with your friends or family and fill your batteries ready for new challenges.

Excellent location and host

Super well equipped and private villa in a beautiful mountain environment. The host Brigita provided hugh homegrown vegetable baskets, eggs and delicious cake on top of wine and olive oil. The pool was fantasic. All in all a perfect holiday location.

This was a wonderful property in the country outside of Buzet.. The property was impeccably clean, the hostess was extremely helpful to us, the amenities were perfect. I would recommend this to anyone who wants an idyllic vacation in Croatia!

Excellent stay

All the reviews saying Brigita is a wonderful host are 100% true. The house was perfect, very complete and communication very good. Brigita surprised us with fresh eggs, veggies and a delicious cake. Highly recommend and we hope to come back someday.

Lovely rural retreat

A really lovely house in a beautiful setting in the middle of the countryside.. The pool and garden are lovely. it’s really peaceful and full of wildflowers. Brigitta is a great host.

Beautiful cottage in scenic surroundings

The cottage is an absolute gem, in a very scenic landscape. The house, pool and garden has all the facilities you need, and is very well maintained. Brigita is the best host we have ever visited, and we will be back again. A lovely place to relax and enjoy the surroundings. 5 stars are not enough!

Immaculate holiday house in the Istrian hills

The property and the hospitality of the owner, Brigita was beyond our expectations and above all previous holiday experiences. The house and kitchen was thoroughly kitted out and attractively done. Pool - perfect for family fun and superbly clean. The surrounding landscape inviting for strolls amongst olive trees, vineyards and orchards. Brigita and family deserve special mention for the care they took in maintaining the property (very discreet) and their generosity in making us feel at home.

Relaxing stay in Majeri

The house looks exactly as shown on the pictures. It is located a bit outside our Buzet in a small village in the mountains. We enjoyed the landscape, house and the food in Istria. We would like to say special thanks to our landlord Brigitta who was very nice and surprised us with some nice cakes, desserts. Overall, we enjoyed very much our stay and would like to thank Brigitta For her hospitality. We will definitely come back.

Amazing

A beautiful,quiet,relaxing area. Home is very clean and comfortable. Host goes out of her way to be helpful and we were delighted with the cake and produce. Fresh figs is not something we get easily in Ohio. The little village is quiet with a very close little restaurant that was excellent. Drive to multiple towns within Istria and returned to such a lovely place with several close restaurants. We loved it.

Exceptional property - very spacious, very clean, felt we were the first people staying there. Excellent facilities and they all worked.  Property had a premium feel. Recommendations - reserve table on the small terrace at the local in restaurent as Sovinjak, 30 min walk. Pula - better shopping than Porec and Piran and not as touristy. Better all round I thought. Treated to wine and Olive oil from Brigita as well as loads of veg - our host was very attentive. Area very quiet and tranquel.

Gorgeous villa in peaceful location

Brigita and her family are amazing hosts, regularly leaving baskets of fruit, veg & salad, bottles of wine & grappa, jam & even cheesecake! The villa is immaculate and very peaceful. It might be a bit off the beaten track for some, but we travelled to both East & West coasts of Istria in less than hour. There were lovely hilltop towns to visit, beautiful scenery, and very quiet roads. The villa's pool (8x4) was super, & cleaned every other day. Brigita was quickly available via Whatsapp to answer any queries. The villa is in a quiet inland area of Istria, but it was very easy to travel to more touristy parts. Thanks for a fantastic 2 weeks!

A memorable holiday in the countryside Villa EL!

The Villa EL is situated on a hillside village Majeri - a 10 min drive from down-town Buzet. The house offered spaces for everyone of our family: one loved the fire-place, the other the pool-side (we would have loved to have warmer days to have had more of the pool), the next one the beautiful nature to jog around and so on. The host Brigita was very warm and greeted us with the traditional easter cake and wine from their own vineyard. Out evenings were just perfect with the wine by the fire-place. The house is tastefully furnished with attention to details. During our stay, we had the chance to meet with additional members of Brigita's family that were just as warm and generous. Brigita's sister-in-law who was visiting offered the fresh salad that her Mother had just cut from the garden, on knowing we were vegetarians:-) Thank you!

Beautiful place to relax

This renovated old natural stone house is very beautiful and offers sufficient space for a family with 3 children. The house's appliances/equipment are modern and everything needed is available and in good working condition. The air condition is a bit special though and it takes a little while to get used to how it functions. But it cools reasonably well. The house is tastefully furnished, with care for details. The children enjoyed the swimming pool a lot. The house is located in a very beautiful, scenic landscape. The location is very quiet and perfect to relax and to take a break from a stressful work life. There are many beautiful little villages to visit in the area (15-30 min. to reach by car). It takes about 45 min. to 1h to drive to the coast. The landlord, Mme Brigita, is a lovely, caring and responsive lady. It is very easy to communicate with her and she was always available to provide any assistance. We will always keep fond memories of our stay in her house and will certainly come back at some beautiful time in the future!

Eine ganz tolle Gastgeberin, ein super komfortables Haus, ein warmer Pool alles sehr ordentlich und sehr sauber. Vom Haus aus kann man den Strand in Novgrad in circa 30 Minuten erreichen, auch die Städte Pula und Rovinj sind mit dem Auto gut erreichbar. Das nächste gute Restaurant ist auf dem angrenzenden Berg circa 5 Minuten. 1000 Dank an Brigitta und Ihr Team!

Ein wunderschöner Urlaub

Wir waren 14 Tage in diesem Ferienhaus. Im Haus fehlte es an nichts. Sehr sauber und mit viel Liebe eingerichtet, genauso die Außenanlage. Unsere Gastgeberin Brigita hat dem ganzen noch die Krone aufgesetzt. Volles Verwöhnprogramm mit Wein, Gemüsekorb, Olivenöl und Kuchen. Und gab es Fragen, kam sehr schnell eine Antwort. Wir würden auf alle Fälle wieder hinfahren. Erholen und Entspannen - dann Villa EL!!

Week verblijf in augustus 2024

Verblijf was hartstikke fijn. Mooi huis met groot zwembad. In de buurt voldoende te bezichtigen. Brigita is een hele fijne gastvrouw. In de woning waren alle basisvoorzieningen aanwezig zoals handdoeken, wasmachine, wasmiddel, schoonmaakmiddel etc. Het huis is goed onderhouden en ziet er top uit.
