Overview

About the property

Cabin, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3 Baths

Our four bedroom, three baths, Lake Tahoe Vacation Rental is located off of Pioneer Trail/Washoan Drive in South Lake Tahoe. Our cabin is CLEAN with upgraded furnishings and amenities. Our Vacation Rental Home sleeps 8, however, we limit occupancy to 6 adults. We allow up to 8 people if your group includes children. Casa Tahoe's location, Just 6 miles from Heavenly Ski Resort, Stateline Casinos, and Lake Tahoe, makes it a perfect all-season getaway for couples or your entire family. And don't forget about the family dog!

We are a family and pet-friendly property. We have a 12-year-old and a Labrador, so the cabin has been stocked for their enjoyment and our ease of staying there ourselves. We have a high chair, portable crib (with linens), baby bath, toddler blow up bed, books, movies, and games appropriate for ages toddler through adult.

Your well-behaved pet is welcome. Our backyard is fully fenced. Your dog will appreciate the dog bed and treats we always keep at the cabin. We often take our dog for a walk down to the Truckee River or on the Forest Service Trail starting just a block from the cabin.

Our nearest ski resort is Heavenly, which is easily accessible by taking Pioneer Trail to Ski Run Drive or drop off at the Gondola which is a quick right onto Highway 50 once you are at the top of Pioneer Trail. Our location allows you to avoid the traffic on Highway 50 to reach Heavenly. It is also convenient to Sierra at Tahoe and Kirkwood by avoiding the traffic north of Pioneer Trail. Take advantage of the beginning ski classes at these great ski resorts for your kids or daycare available while you enjoy the slopes. There are also nearby locations for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Some of our neighbors start their cross-country skiing excursions in the meadow behind our cabin.

You will enjoy sledding at the snow parks, or no worries if you don't want to pack up the kids and leave the cabin. We have a slope in the meadow behind our back fence which will sufficiently entertain you kids. There are sleds in our garage for your use, so it is hassle free to just walk a short distance around the cabin and send them racing down the small hill. Check out our photos of snow fun right behind Casa Tahoe!

Amenities like our wood burning stove as well as a private, hot tub on the back deck outside the master bedroom add to the ambiance of this Lake Tahoe Cabin Rental. And yes, you can use the grill in the winter!

Our back deck affords a relaxing view of the mountains or just stay in the living room as the full-length windows provide you with a view.

If gambling is your game, the casinos are located at Stateline, just a few miles up Pioneer Trail, or enjoy the many extra amenities we provide for your entertainment at the cabin such as cable TV's, games, books, Wii and an extensive video and DVD library. We have high-speed internet but bring your own laptop for cable hookup or wireless. (SORRY COMPUTER NOT PROVIDED).

We've thought of everything you will need to make your stay at Casa Tahoe comfortable and easy. We provide many extra amenities such as quality linens and a kitchen equipped with top quality cookware and appliances. You will find upon arrival spices, condiments, staples, coffee, tea, and breakfast items. The cabin is tastefully decorated with new furniture and bedding and our downstairs bedroom/recreation room provides a special get-away for the teens.

Please note our South Lake Tahoe Cabin is located in a very quiet, peaceful, wooded neighborhood. Sound carries far in this high altitude air, so we ask our guests to keep their voices down while using the back deck, back yard, and hot tub. This includes no use of the hot tub or deck between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM (El Dorado County Vacation Rental Owners Regulation). We also strictly enforce the maximum occupancy noted above to comply with El Dorado County Vacation Rental Owners Regulations.

About Frank Overton

We purchased Casa Tahoe in 2003, however, we have been Vacation Rental Owners in South Lake Tahoe for 16 years. We are a small family, (just one child) but visit our cabin at least once a month, and invite friends and family to join us.

Frank Overton purchased this cabin in 2000

Why Frank Overton chose Pioneer Trail

We love the South Lake Tahoe area. We enjoy the cabin year round, snowboarding in the winter, the lake in the summer, and the quiet months of October and May are acutally my favorite! There are always festivals to attend, or we enjoy just spending time with family, friends, and our dogs.

What makes this cabin unique

We have lots of space for family and friends. We love entertaining. I have equipped the cabin with the cookware I need for making gourmet meals for a crowd. I have also focused on equipping the cabin with entertainment (books, games, videos) that all ages would enjoy. We are on a quiet, residential street, with great views of the mountains. It's fun and relaxing at the same time. From our location off of Pioneer Trail, you can get to the cabin easily from Sacramento or the Bay Area without having to drive through town. At the same time, it does not take long to get to Heavenly, the casinos, the lake beaches, shopping or restaurants from our cabin via Pioneer Trail.

Guestbook comments from the owner

WHAT DID YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT THE PROPERTY? The view was magnificent, as well as proximity to the trails. The yard was great, our ciy dog was in heaven. Perfect size, cozy yet not cramped at all. Loved the selection of movies & games. Have rented nice places before that are great, but when you go to fix a meal, you fund one sharp knife and one spatul. I was stunned and thrilled to find a full euipped kitchen!! That (as a cook) just made my vacation.

Absolutely loved this home and the location!

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful home has everything you will need for a wonderful and relaxing time in South Lake Tahoe. The beds are super comfortable, the kitchen has everything you will need to prepare all your meals, a grill for grilling, and a huge yard that is dog friendly. My favorite part about the location is that at the end of the street there is access to a myriad of hiking, biking, running trails! Perfect getaway!

Perfect place for a family retreat!

  • 5 of 5

My family absolutely loved our stay at Casa Tahoe. The location was great and Frank and Linda did a fantastic job in equipping the cabin with everything needed to make our stay feel like a "home away from home." There was an extensive DVD collection, games to play, and our dog enjoyed the spacious backyard almost as much we enjoyed the hot tub. There's also a great hiking trail just down the street. I highly recommend Casa Tahoe and hope to stay there again in the future.

A great family vacation spot in So. Lake Tahoe!!!

  • 4 of 5

Our family (of 7) had an amazing vacation while staying @ Casa Tahoe.

The location is perfect, the cabin is well stocked with cooking/living utensils, and the floor plan uses the square footage well. It's a great space, and feels a lot bigger than it is.

The back deck is marvelous, and the fenced backyard is very convenient for the family pet.

The kids loved the the basement!!! A great area with its own bathroom.

The hot tub was a nice treat in the evenings.

There were a few items that we were not perfect:

- mold behind the kitchen faucet

- the place where the TV use to be mounted is not painted (a little tacky)

- wall patches in the bathroom not painted

- the cabin felt generally clean, but could use a deep clean and a little elbow grease

- nuts are NOT allowed in the house, due to the the owner's allergy

- both neighbors appear to be "full timers" and are not the friendliest to vacationers ("grumpy")

Owner's Response: Thank you for your honest review of our cabin. We are taking care of the few minor updates that you pointed out - for example we have painted the wall where the earlier TV was mounted and mounted the new TV. Will take care of the bathroom on our next visit. Sorry can't do anything about the peanuts - our daughter's allergy is too high to risk it.
