This cabin was a great place to stay! We went in the summer. The place was clean and well-appointed. The main living space is large and open, with plenty of space for everyone. The outside area is nice, with a deck and fire pit. It was fairly close to Cascade Lake, where we were able to rent equipment for playing on the lake. There is also a lovely restaurant in Smith’s Ferry that we highly recommend. This seems like it would also be a great place for a winter stay.
This is a beautiful and spacious home! It’s very clean however there were some small flying moths that were glad we had an indoor bug zapper for. The kitchen is expansive and pretty well stocked and this was nice for our meals in.It would have been nice to access the thermostat adjustment for ourselves rather than to have what appeared to be on a timer. It’d also be nice to have instructions on using the DVD player in the living room :)All in all a great place that we’d consider staying at again. We stayed for a full week during thanksgiving.
If you want a place far enough away to enjoy wildlife, solitude, stars, and lots of trees but still have all the comforts of home, this is the place for you. We're really considering staying there again next summer!
Thank you for staying with us! We enjoyed hosting you and appreciate your kind review. We look forward to the time when we can work again with you in the future. Safe travels.
Loved the house! Lots of space and very clean! Needed to get ahold of management and they were very quick and friendly! Will continue to stay here every year!
Wonderful quite location. Each of my needlepoint friends found just the right spot to stitch. One improvment, leave instructions on how to run the TV, turntable and other electronic equipment. Our group will be back nexy year.
Property is as described. Just a heads up, it’s a one way road, at least during the winter months and pretty steep. I wouldn’t recommend pulling a trailer.
The house is very nice and would be great for multiple guests. Each bedroom has it's own bathroom and the living areas are spacious. Very nice kitchen as well. We stayed in July and unfortunately the outdoor spaces were completely unusable due to being overrun by pests. We were looking forward to using the fire pit, but couldn't because the entire patio was covered in ants. The front patio with the grill was covered in mouse/rat droppings. The house was generally clean where it mattered, but it was extremely dusty and there were some webs. The carpet could also use a good cleaning. There was no TV, but you can do streaming or watch movies. Lots of games to choose from.Overall a great place, but the outdoor spaces need attention.

We’re glad you enjoyed the home’s layout, kitchen, and amenities. Regarding the outdoor spaces: we do have regular pest control in place, but in a mountain setting like this, occasional ants or rodents around exterior areas can occur, especially in the summer. Had we been made aware during your stay, we would have sent someone right away. We’ll also follow up on carpet and dusting.
Great Place but some attention needed - 6/2/23 - 6/14/23
This was our second year staying at this property and we were not disappointed this year either. This is a quality home, and the location is perfect for the quite & secluded experience we want. While not taking away from the overall experience, we found a few items in not as good of shape as before. The BBQ is a disaster waiting to happen in that the burners don't lite as they should. The propane flow to the burners is sporadic causing potential flare ups when lighting. One burner has a leak at the very front of the burner that flares substantially when trying to adjust the flame.
The leak in the roof needs to be repaired or there will be even more substantial damage to the ceiling in the living area. We pointed out this same leak last year to the property manager. This year the damage is visibly worse.
While television of some kind was not a reason for us to select this property, we arrived to find that there was no satellite TV this year. (There was last year). We were told that the homeowner had cancelled the service which of course is their choice. However, it should be disclosed in the amenity list that no service is available. Internet consistency doesn't lend itself to good streaming. While there, the PM said the service had been turned on. Unfortunately, there was no Dish equipment to make it available.
We love this place, and these issues probably won't keep us from staying again, but they need to be addressed.

BBQ was replaced in 2025. Minor roof leak was repaired immediately after these guests departed.
We spent the Fourth of July weekend here with our labrador retriever to escape the fireworks noise of Boise. It’s a beautiful, spacious and quiet spot in the trees!Great kitchen!

Thank you so much for the kind words! It was great hosting you, Jon. Come back anytime!
The house felt huge! Large master bedroom, kitchen, and family room/dining room. We loved all the trees surrounding the property. It made us feel like we were camping but in a beautiful house. The house had everything we needed. My only complaint is that in the listing it said walking distance to the river and that was not true. The house was close to the river but it would have been a very long walk. We had a wonderful time and plan to stay in this house in the future!
Wonderful property in a great, quite area. The home was by far the cleanest and best equipped property we have rented through VRBO. The area is beautiful and exactly as we expected. Would highly recommend this property if you want a quiet and secluded experience in the woods. Quick access to Smiths Ferry Lodge, Cascade and Cascade Lake.
We had a great experience from booking to checkout. The house is lovely with very nice furnishings and appointments. Very reasonable $$ too. Great location any time of year. Beds were comfy. Kitchen was well-appointed with everything we could have needed. Will definitely return for a longer stay.
We stayed here for a wedding and it was perfect. The property is beautiful and clean. Communication with the owner was super easy but there was good direction on what we needed to do.
