The house is nice, clean, functional and well furnished. The location is good, however the immediate area around the house, what you would call a front and back yard, feels neglected: piles of sand and gravel, old farm equipment, storage containers, etc. That and a big sign saying "Do not go under oak trees" -- it's the oak trees that sell the property in my opinion - meant that we didn't really spend much time outside, which was disappointing for us. We live in a city, so being in the countryside, in nature was our strong desire. We also had a bit of a tiff with the owner who seems to be one of those landlords who don't think that paying the rent entitles you to actually live in the house: cooking, eating, remote working were considered dirty and messy. Paso Robles, though, is a beautiful area, with scenic drives, vineyards and quiet country roads. And only half an hour to the coast. So all in all it was a good trip.
