Wonderful place. Most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Beautiful views from the rear decks. Can’t wait to stay there the next time I’m in Tellico Plains
LOOK NO FURTHER, just book it and relaxation awaits you. We just returned from an extended weekend getaway because Tellico Plains is one of my favorite places to visit and I will rent this cabin from now on. Everything was exactly as described and the location was perfect! I actually had trouble sleeping when we got home because I missed the sound of the river! It was well stocked, clean, comfortable and the owner could not have been any easier to work with throughout the whole process from booking to checking out. Can't wait to come back and stay in this lovely cabin again SOON. Thanks Ray for sharing your wonderful home with us.
The cabin was very picturesque. We had a party of 6 and everyone enjoyed their stay. The minor hiccups we encountered were all very minimal and nothing that overly impacted our stay. All of the appliances worked, a few lights were out and the parking area could be more brightly lit. More towels for the bathrooms as well as additional bathroom toilet paper if you have a larger group staying and some additional glassware as well as pot holders would have helped. The one significant repair we would recommend is to check the two shower drains. The one upstairs drained very slowly. Overall we loved the deck overlooking the river. The cabin was very well decorated inside and out. We found the beds to be very comfortable and enjoyed the seating in the dinette for breakfast. There was an added bonus of a flat top for grilling underneath the cabin which worked very nicely. We were traveling with a larger group and the placement along the Cherohala is exceptional. The restaurant next door has live music a few times a week and it was great to be able to be situated so close. Our group liked the property so much we would happily book another stay in the future. I have recommended it to several people we know already.
Beautiful and Comfortable with the sounds of the river on the deck!

The fireplaces didn’t work. The fire pit outside didn’t work. There were a lot of lightbulbs burned out. It’s a great place, but it could really use a little TLC.

Beautiful view of the river. Comfortable stay but def needs some TLC. The online pictures must be dated because it didn’t look like the pics now. Would recommend staying here but the pics aren’t the same as the rental.
Wonderful location. Incredible view directly on the river. If you like drinking your coffee overlooking the river… this is the place. We have stayed in this specific house twice and and still love it. Highly recommend for anyone looking to stay in this area.
This is our second time staying in this cozy cabin. It is located right on the river which is exactly what we were looking for. Pictures are accurate, has everything you need for cooking in or grilling out. Beds are comfy. Host is quick & responsive. Would definitely recommend!
The cabin was great. Only issue we had was that apparently there was supposed to be a letter with check in information sent. It arrived after we had left on our trip, this created some confusion and frustration until the property manager called me back and got us squared away. Overall very satisfied and will be renting this property again in the future

Beautiful cabin with some faults
Too many ladybugs inside the cabin. We had no water when we arrived my husband had to turn it on outside. The front door and there was another cabin being built and back door didn't stay closed. There was a cable compnay that would park the vehicles there ivernite and would block the entrances and hard to pull into your cabin.shut!
Overall... was a great place for the two of us. We enjoyed being so close to the Tellico River (but unfortunately forgot my fly rod). We took long scenic drives in the area to Robinnsville, NC, Fontana Dam, Tail of the Dragon and the Cherohala Skyway. Also explored the nearby Cherokee National Forest. Very scenic location!
The only downside is that the cabin's internet access (wifi) was pretty slow and unable to stream TV very well while also using our devices to explore Google Maps, etc. The entire area also suffers from very poor ATT signal. So be aware of that. There are very limited eating and shopping/grocery areas nearby. We don't recommend the walkable Ironworks grill... it seemed poorly run. Go get groceries and supplies in Madisonville.
This is the perfect getaway sitting on a whitewater river
the property is really a second home of the owners rather than a rental and I like that about the property. It is amazing to have a home to stay in that is sitting on a natural whitewater river. You are basically in the Smokey Mountains, with a river and no crowds and no people. The master bedroom opens up to a huge deck over the river, the upstairs bedroom has a private access to a separate private upper deck. Nice kitchen and well decorated but really what you get here is a nice home on the river in a small town without the Gatlinburg crowds. You have the necessities in Tellico, Grocery and two restaurants. One is a short walk along the river to a full service food and another meat and three in town. The old town square has a very popular bakery. This is the place to unwind and relax. It has a wine cooler, TV’s is all rooms but you will want to utilize the decks to relax while you listen and watch the river roll. For 10 miles from the cabin into the Cherohala Skyway is straight along a the whitewater Tellico coming out of the mountain to the Bald River Falls. Its nature and the roar of the water that made it a special place. You will enjoy it, we did. If I want to relax, read and just enjoy being alive, its the place.
Cabin floorplan & location for couples getaway trip was AWESOME! OVERALL had a wonderful time tho providing several suggestions for improvements.CONS: Laundry room NOT as pictured; cluttered & didn't welcome use (tho washer/dryer appeared clean.) Bath towels were minimal, need to replace (stains/rips). Upstairs bathmat so dingy/dirty had to flip to use. Prior guest trash under beds & coffee table (bottles, food). Outdoor furniture w/pollen/moss - had to wipe down to enjoy. Floors throughout need to be swept & mopped (crumbs & sticky). Several pots/pans/skillets need replacing. (YAY for the cast iron skillets!!) Fridge/freezer need cleaning & prior guest ice dumped after each visit (YAY for ice maker!) Shampoo NOT provided, update listing. Upstairs bathroom counter had hair, shower doors mildewed. Powderroom faucet dripping on shut off (water underneath & floor buckling by air vent). Replace lightbulbs throughout to brighten up living & bedroom areas. Doorknobs installed wonky. MAIN deckdoors do NOT LOCK. NEW sponges/soap s/b supplied for each new guest. Floor vent in kitchen not secured. PROS: Beds very comfy, sheets smelled of bleach & assured of cleanliness. Furniture plentiful/comfortable. GREAT location, deck, overall floorplan. Short trek to Iron Grille (good service & food.) Loved riverview & access for fishing. (DID encounter MANY snakes on rocks; signage needed.) The CONS didn't foil our visit; a DEEP clean & tweaks would so elevate this property!
