The district is the ancient Roman Suburra that Nero tried to burn in the famous fire; then in the Middle Ages small buildings arose with narrow stairs and red roofs that still exist creating magnificent angles between the narrow streets.
The district is today inhabited mainly by actors and politicians of Italian society, and in the evening comes alive for the night "nightlife" with its numerous clubs frequented mainly by young people, but also by more mature people who love the not too chaotic places.
