Great space!

We loved this apartment! It was clean and very spacious. Location was great and an easy walk to the beach. Only issue was there was no cleaning supplies in the apartment for us to clean up after ourselves and there was no recycling abilities in the complex

Not the most amazing place. But good space.

I’m not one to leave reviews. But with the amount of money spent for the space and location, I feel it necessary to let others be made known. The beds, were absolutely horrendous. A simple $100 mattress in a box would solve the issues. Every movement made a squeak, and they were terribly uncomfortable. We also had no ice. At the beach. No filtered water from the freezer either. Put in a request, and they came out and no one was able to fix it. So no water and no ice the entire visit. Not very convenient to say the least. I wasn’t really a fan of the inconveniences given the money that was spent. Also, the pool and indoor pool: I thought was going to come in good use for the fact that if the outdoor pool closed, we would at least have the indoor pool. Nope. The indoor pool has an aluminum roof and therefore with any pool closure both are closed.

Not Our first choice

The property was ok, it had a large TV in the living area that did not work, looks like they upgraded the TV but did not remove the old one. This property was a list minute move on VACASA part. When you first entered the property it smelled of bleach, there was a power surge that cause the lights and hot water not to work and the cable/internet was also out. The furniture was very dated.

All the Amenities of Home

This property is located on the bay and is ideal for families. It has a pool that is perfect for small children, older kids and adults might get bored with it though. The bay beach was beautiful but had a LOT of Horseshoe Craps....amazing sunsets however. Perfect roads for bike riding and taking walks and the main strip and beach were close by. This unit worked nicely for our family and was centrally located in the community. We only have a few suggestions for improvement: the beds/headboards were very squeaky; the bathrooms needed a thorough cleaning as there was some mold in both and the "family" bathroom had a leaky shower door, the ceiling fan in the bedroom also needed tightening to stop vibrations, and the couch needed a good cleaning as there were stains on the fabric. The balcony was fabulous! Luggage carts were readily available and parking was convenient. The elevator made coming and going a breeze. All appliances worked well and the kitchen was well stocked. Keyless entry was effortless and allowed all of us to come and go as we pleased. All in all, the place was great and we would recommend it.

Disappointing Stay

We have stayed at Sunset Island previously and have enjoyed it very much. This time the experience wasn’t good. The sleeper sofa in the living room was broken, which wasn’t a problem since were would not be using the bed. But the bed was half-out, meaning the couch was not useable either. We called several times about the couch, but there was no resolution. It was inconvenient and frustrating, especially when the weather caused us to be inside. The coffee maker was also broken, so we needed to improvise after spilling coffee everywhere the first morning. There were also limited kitchen items - no measuring cups and and limited utensils. Sunset Island remains a favorite of ours, but this experience was a true letdown. Seek out other options on the island if you are going to spend that kind of money for a vacation.

Disappointed

When we arrived several of the amenities were broken including the front door lock, several screens, a broken lamp, broken patio chair and broken cabinet door in the master bathroom. The washing machine was missing the knob so we could not change settings. When we called to get the lock fixed they would not commit to fixing it before noon on the second day of our visit. The place looked rundown and dirty. There was mold in The bathrooms, duct tape used To hold down the carpet, there were very few utensils available and there were water rings on several pieces of furniture. The TV in the living room was not working (missing HDMI cord) and we had to take a cord from a bedroom TV. We have pictures if you would like to discuss this privately.

Many issues not addressed

The place is spacious but don’t count on Vacasa to attend to issues: broken door on TV wall unit, two broken chairs on deck that need to be tossed, ripped window screens, slats missing from window treatments which were in the floor behind a chair, missing knob on washing machine, main bedroom fan light didn’t work but fan did so guessing it’s just bulbs, other bulbs out, master bath has rust on doors, guest bathroom shower leaks on the floor, tape holding down master area rug. Kitchen not well stocked. 3 forks, 2 regular knives, 3 serrated knives. No cooking sheet. We bought plastic silverware. If they had even tried to fix any of the issues, we would have been happier but they didn’t so I will never rent from Vacasa again.

Great location. Lots of little issues during our short stay

The location is wonderful. Really enjoyed sunset island. The beach. The pool. The bar. Kids loved the slash pad. Past reviews said this place was dirty and moldy. Saw none of that. Seemed very clean when we arrived. We did have several issues during the stay we weren't thrilled with. Internet wasn't working initially. Had to re wire the modem after a day of research. The trouble shooting said to call the ISP before calling management. I've never called my ISP without verifying I'm the one paying. So this is not an option. The blinds (vertical style) in the master bedroom has several missing and broken. This put a 2 foot gap in the middle of the blinds. Had to take slats from other blinds in the house to give privacy to the master suite. The first night the front door lock broke. We were locked out and called management at 8 pm. After talking to someone several thousands of miles away they said "they are aware and someone is on the way". After an hour of no calls or no maintenance I had to climb into a window to get in. Reported this in person then next day and they were not aware. Told them the lock could not be locked when we leave the condo and they said they would take care of it. 3 days we couldn't lock the door when we left the condo. On the last day someone showed up to replace the hot water heater. Meant the last 2 hours we were there we couldn't shower or wash dishes with warm water.

Family vacation

Overall, we enjoyed our stay, as Sunset Island is a great vacation spot for our family's needs. However, we were disappointed in the accommodations of this home. There were safety concerns such a broken glass coffee pot, moldings jutting out into the hallway, dirty floors upon arrival to name a few. There was also a drain issue with the first bathroom. We called that the water was not going down in the tub and one functional bathroom is not sufficient to accommodate 6 adults and 2 children. They put a ticket in and assured someone would come that night or next morning, neither of which happened.

had to clean when i arrived. cleaner just dumped in the bottom of the shower nothing scrubbed. so much soap scum on the shower doors you cant see through them. broken cabinet doors in bathroom. light bulbs out. washing machine knob missing. dirty dishes in the cabinets

Very Nice

This condo had everything we needed. We visited in Dec 2021 after Christmas and the complex was not very crowded. The clubhouse and indoor pool were nice and easy to get to (just a few blocks from the unit). This was our first visit to Ocean City, so I can’t commit too much on the location. It was close to everything we needed, but would have been a decent walk to the beach across a lot of traffic. Everyone at Vacasa was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely rent from them again.

Not satisfied

My passes were not ready upon arrival. The floor was dirty. There was mold on the floor outside of the tub in the main bathroom as well as mold on the bottom of the shower door in the master bathroom. The jacuzzi is not a jacuzzi, it’s a big tub that you can’t use because the drain plug is broken. I tried to improvise and use a coffee cup to create a suction, but ran out of hot water before I could get the tub full. We lost electric in half of the apartment, but that was an easy fix, once we found the breaker box. Overall, we were unhappy with the place for what we paid.

Enjoyed my stay

Property was in great condition and was nice with enough rooms to accommodate 3 family’s. Wished it had one more bathroom and newer needs. Place was clean, but was a bummer I had to wait till 4pm to check in. Had a good time. Lastly if the neighbors are loud you will hear everything. Walls are a little thin.

Overpriced and underjoyed

Communication with renter was non existent. I had emailed three times regarding my stay and got no answer. Place was dirty. Tv in living room and tv in 1 bedroom. Twin bedroom did not even work. The price of tv’s as well as the price stay I think they could afford to add two TVs. Bathtub “jacuzzi” had no jets and water was cold after not even filling half way. Food left in fridge from prior guests and just all around dirty. Gum on pillow of the guest bedroom. Overall I would not stay here again and I would not recommend to others, ocm is too beautiful with many other beautiful places to stay

Great property

The property itself was great lots of amenities, great layout, a little hard to find which building the condo was in but it’s well worth the money. We only had one hiccup as something happened above the master bathroom and was dripping water onto the floor but not necessarily the fault of this property owner, we just felt it could’ve been handled a little better. Other than that it was a great stay!
