Our owner-operated Lake Gaston home has 4,400 square feet, six bedrooms, 5½ bathrooms, and beds for 20—room to come together and room to spread out.

A “10 OUT OF 10” LOCATION

New to Lake Gaston? Waterfront locations vary considerably. Summer Place combines open-water views, sunsets, deep water, and restaurant access in a setting often described as a “10 out of 10” location.

Centrally located near the middle of the lake on the coveted North Carolina side, our home overlooks the main lake near mile marker 14. The southwest setting delivers sweeping private open-water views and spectacular sunsets from the back deck and upper boathouse.

The bonus? All four main waterfront restaurants are within approximately four miles by boat. Head out for lunch or dinner without a long journey back.

YOUR FAMILY’S FAVORITE GATHERING PLACE: THE BOATHOUSE

Downstairs, comfortable shaded seating and a TV create an outdoor living room beside the water. Adults can escape the sun, enjoy a conversation, and watch the children play nearby. Put on your favorite music, fill the cooler, and settle in.

Upstairs, the sun deck offers luxury Polywood furniture, dining seating for eight, and expansive lake views. It’s a favorite spot for lunch, lounging, and watching the stars, boats and sunsets.

For the adventurous, the upper-deck jump gate delivers an approximately 11-foot leap into deep lake water. Over the years, guests from age three to over 80 have taken the jump. The countdown, the splash, and the cheers from the dock have become a Summer Place tradition.

“JUST ONE MORE TURN!” ON THE TRAMPOLINE AND SLIDE

The seasonal Rave water trampoline, slide, and water wosh’s are huge hits with children, grandchildren, and plenty of adults.

Imagine cousins playing for hours: bouncing, sliding, splashing, climbing back up, and doing it all again. These are the afternoons that become favorite childhood memories.

The shaded boathouse keeps adults close to the fun without spending all day in the sun. Two included kayaks and two paddleboards offer even more ways to explore and enjoy the lake.

Water trampoline, slide, and accessories: generally mid-May through mid-September, weather permitting.

FISHING STORIES START RIGHT OFF THE DOCK

Our own children have caught more than 1,000 fish from this dock, from little panfish to catches that brought everyone running. Our son Zack caught a memorable trophy-sized gar at age 10, and our son Jake landed a 40-pound catfish at age 12.

We’re still telling those stories.

Help a grandchild catch a first fish, try for bass or catfish, or enjoy a quiet evening with a line in the water. More than 10 species have been caught from our dock over the years.

After dark, underwater fishing lights reveal fish gathering below. An illuminated fish-viewing window in the boathouse floor adds another way to watch the lake come alive—even if you never pick up a rod.

SUNSETS, S’MORES, AND EVENINGS TOGETHER

Pull up a chair on the back deck or boathouse for the sunset. Then gather around the oversized lakeside fire pit for s’mores and stories, ease into the hot tub, or catch your favorite game.

Three outdoor TVs serve the hot tub, fire pit, and boathouse. Sonos music in the house and boathouse lets you set the soundtrack for your stay.

SUNNY DAYS, RAINY DAYS—EVERYONE HAS OPTIONS in both summer season as well as the down seasons.

A rainy afternoon can become a shuffleboard tournament, a movie on the 85-inch TV with surround sound, or a chance to curl up with a book and watch the weather cross the lake.

The main living room has vaulted ceilings, comfortable seating, a fireplace, and panoramic water views. A separate lower-level living area gives everyone another place to gather.

Two indoor fireplaces make cooler-weather visits inviting. Eleven indoor smart HDTVs and high-speed Spectrum Wi-Fi offer plenty of options for downtime.

When the sun returns, the covered outdoor ping pong table is ready for friendly competition. An active lake week or a relaxed holiday gathering: there’s plenty to enjoy.

ROOM FOR FAMILY MEALS

The recently renovated kitchen is equipped for a crowd, with double ovens, a walk-in pantry, quartz countertops, and generous storage.

The lake-view kitchen table seats 12, with four more at the bar. Nearby outdoor dining seats up to 8more, and the upper boathouse table seats eight.

A commercial ice maker keeps coolers ready. A second refrigerator, sink, and dishwasher downstairs make drinks and snacks convenient.

A WOODED ACRE IN A PRIVATE, GATED COMMUNITY

Our full one-acre wooded homesite has additional wooded privacy along in between neighbors on both sides and broad lake views opening up in front.

Summer Place sits in Harbor Landing, a private, gated community with its own boat ramp available to guests. Bringing your boat? Launch right in the neighborhood.
