Started our stay realizing we had spotty cellular connection that did not allow me to access entry message from owner. Was told by neighbor to walk across property to overlook. After stepping through animal fecal matter and across a very icy parking lot, owner did answer my call and verbally provided code to front door. When walking back, condo complex run down and littered with stuff.
Upon entering, things got rough. My family had no place to stow our belongings for our 3-night stay. The entry closet was full of miscellaneous stuff and 6 plastic hangers. Next closet contained h2o heater and furnace along with more stuff including used underwear hanging from hook. Kitchen pantry had cleaning supplies and food mixed on shelves. Hallway closet was for linens but contained more cleaning supplies and garbage. Our last hope in master bedroom was a closet full of construction materials and shelving units. One last check in dressers and instructed my family to keep gear in suitcases.
As we settled in after a 4hour road trip, instructions for TV were vague and proved frustrating. Our kids played pool but not after finding rat bait in basket with ping pong paddles and matches for fireplace. Found dated and buggy food in pantry and corner cabinet so kept our food in boxes. Sensed couch was dirty and confirmed; had to let that go but the cigarette butts collection that my kids discovered on top of the hutch next to kitchen was gross.
Other things: bathroom doors could not close, reducing privacy; window covers mismatched and hard to manage; front door lock was tricky; child’s mattress cover stained; two soap pods for three night stay; no obvious extra garbage bags; one bar stool was wonky and handrail in loft wobbly.
For my family, there was no place or all of us to sit down and eat or play board games. The furniture was dated, worn and funky with chipped paint, stickers, burn marks and loose hardware.
Sent message to owner regarding wood for fireplace and extra towels (later found under bathroom sinks); two dura logs left by door the second day. Second morning sent message to owner at 8am regarding snow removal. Skiing at MRSA opens at 9am. We shoveled a path for our vehicle to get out of covered parking only to be met with berm of snow removal crew had plowed as they worked on lot at 9am.
WAY OVERPRICED FOR PROPERTY AND LACK OF AMENITIES.
1STAR: Owner having respond to 2 text messages and one call, for a working furnace and hot water heater.
