Great location in South Kona. House had everything needed more. Kitchen was well appointed. There was a new refrigerator. The pool was clean and well maintained. Tony the owner and Suzie (our local contact) were available and accommodating..
My mainland family came here for some island exploring and whale watching, to relax and de-stress, and to see me. This vacation rental exceeded our expectations in every way.
The downstairs apartment was a big hit with my son, as he likes his alone time, so he had his quiet time.
I highly recommend renting this lovely home.
We needed to get away from the crowds of downtown Kona and the Whale House gave us the perfect getaway. We stayed here for a week with our daughter and her husband. Everything that we could have possibly needed is provided and more. The sunsets were breathtaking, the pool was a welcome addition, and the whale watching was fantastic. All the birds and creatures were our entertainment.
As an Indigenous family we respected the Miloli’i fishing village and asked for permission to snorkel in their waters out front. Their “watch woman” was full of information and her love of the land around us was inspiring. We were even gifted a beautiful basket that she weaved. We will definitely return and my daughter is already planning their return for next year with her 20 year old sons.
Our host was very easy to work with and we highly recommend the Whale House. There are so many reviews that say exactly what we experienced so the only thing that we felt needing to be written about was the little fishing village. If you drive to the Milolii park, remember you are driving through the heart of their village. When you get to the end someone will likely greet you and ask where you’re traveling from. They are a wealth of information and watching them fish the shores with their cast nets was an honor. We are leaving the Island with our hearts full and our minds relaxed.
This is a wonderful place to stay in Milolii. We've stayed at several homes here - our daughter and her family live in this neighborhood and we like to get our own place when we come to visit. This has been our favorite! Everything you need and more - always easy to communicate with manager and owner, too.
