About Sarah Goncalves
We are down to earth, fortunate, San Diego natives who love the laid back lifestyle and the hip new vibe in Cardiff by-the-Sea. We are proud to have a home here. We love to get away to the mountains in winter and enjoy an active lifestyle of sports and travel. Family, good friends, and good health are our highest priorities.
Sarah Goncalves purchased this Townhome in 2006
Why Sarah Goncalves chose Cardiff
Our dream was always to own a home by the beach – to enjoy those stunning sunsets, wild surf, runs at low tide, and the hot sand between your toes….I was fortunate enough to make that a reality in 2006. The views are stunning and are never the same- i never get tired of seeing the dolphins cruise by or hearing the surfers each morning!

Great location, very clean and amazing views. Thank you
Very nice time at this wonderful vacation home
This was our first trip to the San Diego area and we really enjoyed our time in Cardiff-by-the-Sea. A great town to use as our home base for the week. The house was just as described but a little hard to find. An address placed prominently on the house might be helpful. The bedrooms, beds, bathrooms, kitchen, living room, patio, and and hot tub we clean and ready for our use. The beds were very comfortable as were the pillows and comforters. My husband and I used the King Size bed with the detached bathroom; and our two teenage boys used the the other two rooms with the jack/jill bathroom. Worked out nicely. The bathrooms had shampoo/conditioner, as well as body soap (but we did bring our own). The kitchen had more than enough plates, cups, silverware, etc for our group of four. The bread knife could use a little sharpening! The washer/dryer worked out well. I had brought my own Tide Pods, but did notice there is detergent available. There were 4 bikes and a foosball table but we did not use. Our boys enjoyed the basketball hoop!! The hot tub was a nice amenity that we used a few nights on our trip. The view from the patio was spectacular during the day and especially at sunset. In Cardiff, we walked the beach and beach trail daily. It was difficult to get to the beach or trails due to the railroad tracks and highway so we drove from the house to Chesterfield Road (about a half a mile from house) which took us over the tracks and parked on the street. We ate at Best Pizza & Brew (great think crust pizza and salads), VG Donuts & Bakery almost every morning (fabulous donuts, muffins, cookies, and sour dough bread!), Pipes Cafe (large portions and good food), Pacific Coast Grill (Sunday brunch, which was amazing; so we then went back on our last night for dinner and it the restaurant did not disappoint). The grocery store, Cardiff Seaside Market, was very nice with great produce, wine selection, beer selection, bakery and prepared foods area. In addition to exploring Cardiff, we also visited the San Diego Safari Park, San Diego Zoo, Mission Beach, Torrey Pines Nature Research (great hiking!), USS Midway, Coronado Island, San Elijo State Beach, and Cardiff State Beach (too cold in March to go in the water but it was fabulous to walk the beach!). The weather at the end of March of spectacular...each day was a carbon copy of the next...high 60s, low 70s and sun!!! Thanks for a great home base for our spring break vacation. We truly enjoyed our stay
We had such an amazing stay. The patio was awesome and we all enjoyed every inch of the house.
This was a wonderful place to stay for my family. I have both a 4yo and a teenager and this place had all we needed! My little one loved the basketball hoop and foosball table and my teen was thrilled with the outdoor TV. We were all of course loving the hot tub looking over the ocean. How special! The manager was so accommodating with our coming and going schedule (we travelled a looong way) and that really made the traveling so much less stressful. The location is great - close to the wonderful Seaside Market, Pipes for Breakfast, and a great place to get yummy tacos to-go for the beach. I walked the lovely neighborhood each morning (a historic ‘Composers’ district— who knew?) and it was wonderful. We had a great time and would recommend this property for anyone!
Perfect house with a perfect Ocean view!
The house was perfect for us with 3 bedroom & 2 baths. The ocean view from the living room & front bedroom is wonderful & the covered outside area is so cozy & has just a perfect ocean view. The house was very well appointed & I even made candy with my grandkids one evening. We brought our 2 dogs & it was also a big plus for us to be all on the ground level as we also had my 86 year old Mother with us. We would absolutely stay here again & highly recommend it.
Everything was as pictured this is a lovely home I would definitely rent it again.
Legoland (10 minues away), Sea World (20 minutes away) the San Diego Zoo (25 minutes away) and Wild Animal Park are awesome attractions enjoyed by children and adults. We hold annual memberships to Sea World and Zoo/Wild Animal Park because we enjoy them so much! We are also 5-10 Minutes from Del Mar Horse Track, fairgrounds and Torrey Pines Golf Course. There are several golf courses within 15 minutes from our home. Stephen Birch Aquarium is great. La Jolla, Downtown San Diego and historic Gaslamp district are also popular. Balboa Park, museums! Hiking trails on the coast at Torrey pines. There are so many activities and attractions to choose from, picking is the most difficult part. Also, Disneyland/California Adventure Park and Knotts Berry Farm are only a 1.5 hour drive North.
