Historic Bank Building on the Elroy-Sparta State Trail
Have you ever wanted to explore an old bank from 1913? Now is your chance to spend the night in one! Spend your time biking in the summer or snowmobiling in the winter, all right out your back door! With high-speed internet included in your stay, you can even do a flex-cation and change up your scenery while you work and play.
More about the property: Enjoy a stay in a charming bank building that has been renovated to include a loft sleeping area, full kitchen, and full bathroom.
The building includes a loft with a queen-size bed. A couch with a pull-out sofa bed and up to two roll-away cots can be provided upon request for additional sleeping. The kitchen is equipped with basic cooking tools, dishes, and utensils. A toaster and coffee maker are provided. Towels and linens are provided. Laundry/maid service is not included during your stay. There is also a 30amp RV hook-up available for use if you need it. We make sure everything about your stay is comfortable!
More about the location: My kids think there is gold to be found in the old bank, however, after much searching, they realized that the true fun of staying here is all the area has to offer. Whether you want to check out America's first rail-to-trail conversion, the Elroy-Sparta state trail (available for biking in summer and snowmobiling in winter), go hiking at Wildcat Mountain State Park (you can also go horseback riding on the trails!), head to the Kickapoo River for a great time kayaking or canoeing, are in town for the famous Norwalk Lion's Club tractor pull, or simply want to get away for a while, there is a lot to do in this small corner of Wisconsin!

We ran the marathon in Norwalk, from the entrance of the building to starting line was a 30 second walk. If you're going for the bike trail, thia ia the perfect place to stay.
A great location to explore the Elroy-Sparta bike trail. It included many fun electronic, pinball, air hockey and other pub games. Also close to a good Mexican restaurant!
Perfect location for biking the Elroy-Sparta trail. This space is ideal for 2 people. Clean and well appointed. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again.
Everything about checkin/out was clearly communicated plus short helpful notes throughout the property that answered other questions we had. Very clean, open space, well-stocked coffee bar and kitchen. Sister and I came to bike the trails, but it was so hot we spent a lot of time indoors enjoying the AC, playing games, and catching up!
We came to Norwalk to stay because can't get much cooler then staying in a bank. We walked the town of Norwalk and wondered into Cashton to visit Amish farms. The Bank was spotless clean and had everything we needed.
After encountering some issues with access (code provided would not open the door), we found this place comfortable, fun and quirky. Small but functional kitchen, good work space, dining table with seating for six, comfortable bed & pillows. Spacious bathroom with a roomy shower, perfect for washing the trail dust off after a 30-mile bike ride.

Truly a unique renovation of a 1900's bank, this property presented easy, quiet access and everything we wanted (including the pinball machine). We slpt better than we had in weeks and left on Tuesday morning fully refreshed.

Great property, a little bit of a miscommunication with the door code. I’m glad there is wifi as my cell service was a zero. Had everything you need for a great stay.
Very cute refurbished bank building. Immaculately clean. Lots of fun games in the property. Adjacent to a beautiful park and bike trail. Close proximity to great food options. Didn’t try the sofa bed. Queen size bed was great.
This was our first time in the community and we had a delightful stay. The neighborhood and community appears to be clean and filled with hard working families. This property was perfectly located near the trail, had everything we’d hoped for and more. There is a babbling brook behind it and seating so I enjoyed the sunrise and listening to the water. In the evening I repositioned the chair and ready book while the sun set over the horizon. I felt safe, respected, and welcomed. There are dining establishments very close by, a park and the community uses the nearby park frequently. I appreciated the in-house coffee bar and snacks as well. Thank you for such a nice place to stay.
Cool nicely renovated bank. The property manager thought of every detail so that we had a very comfortable stay. Very clean. Easy access to Elroy-Sparta bike trail. We drove to Sparta to rent bikes. Beautiful scenery and train tunnels on the bike trail.
...and stay for the great Mexican food, just around the corner.
I was taking a short break to ride the area rail trails and hike at Wildcat Mount. This property in Norwalk is ideally suited to both, with the added bonus of a really good homestyle Mexican restaurant just around the corner (and a bar across the street).
The Bank is clean, well-appointed, and quiet. Just perfect for winding down from a day outside.
Jesica's former bank was better than we expected. There were snacks and games (video, board, and table in the basement). The binder inside explained everything we needed to know, to work anything we needed. Already considering a future stay there. They are close to Elroy-Sparta bike trail, Wildcat Mountain state park, and Ontario, Wi for canoing, kayaking, or inner tubing the Kickapoo River
We really enjoyed our stay at the old bank in Norwalk, Wisconsin! The basement has fun games we enjoyed playing, the space is very open, the beds are super comfy, and the owners are very nice.
This was the perfect location for the Sparta-Elroy bike trail. Head west to the 1 mile tunnel or head east and hit 2 more tunnels. Located inside an old bank, the setup was perfect for 1 - 4 people. The loft was generous in space and comfortable. The futon was located in a niche so was somewhat private. Once folded down, though, it sagged in the middle and was a bit uncomfortable. A pillow helped. There was added noise across the street from the bar/diner but nothing really loud. It was a quaint small town with a great Mexican restaurant right on the trail.
The kitchen was spacious and had everything you needed, and a basket of snacks, coffee, creamer and sugar! The bathroom was also spacious and nicely done. However there was no outlet in there, but there was a mirror and blow dryer at the desk/coffee area.
Wonderful visit and would definitely stay there again!
The bank was cool to stay at and clean. The bed was up in thee loft which was a neat feature. There is a decent tavern with good food across the street. The Mexican restaurant behind the building across the stream was closed the day we were there so we didn't get to check that out.
Super clean!! Property manager helped us right away when we needed the rollaway bed. Had everything we needed. Right on the bike trail, which is fantastic and why we decidedon this location. Not a lot in town but pretty close to bigger towns. Does have a bar with food and a Mexican restaurant and both were good. We would definitely stay here again, no question!
You can tell the property manager has pride in this little stay, and it shows. Everything was excellent, but the only thing I could possibly dock was that there needs to be better sound insulation at the front of the building, facing the main street - any traffic passing through this town on this road comes through rather clearly. Still a great find and very affordable.
