Spacious 3-Story Home, 4 bedrooms, Sleeps 12, Easy Trailer Parking

This spacious three-story home accommodates larger group gatherings for year-round activities with plenty of parking for cars & ATV trailers*.

With views of the mountains and Detroit Lake this 2,500 SF home has three bedrooms and a large private loft-suite as the fourth bedroom. Home has central heat, A/C, Wi-Fi and excellent cellular service.

The main floor has fully equipped kitchen, dining table for 8, and living area stocked with family games, puzzles, 55" smart-TV, and DVD player. The lower floor has two bedrooms, full bathroom, and washer & dryer. The loft-suite includes a small living area, smart-TV, 2 queen beds, and twin trundle bed. Outdoors, we have camp chairs, fire pit w/wood, BBQ grill, holey board set, water toys, and frisbees for outside play.

Detroit offers year-round activities including boating, fishing, hiking, mushroom picking, snowmobiling, biking, ATVing, or just a relaxing getaway. The house is .8 miles to Detroit Lake, 17.5 miles to Breitenbush Hot Springs, 36 miles to Hoodoo Ski area, 56 miles to Sisters.

Important Notes: Our home is a non-smoking home inside, with smoking allowed only outdoors at least 10 feet from the house. We welcome animals. Please inform us in advance so we can make necessary arrangements for your stay.

Incredible

From the point of check in, Nancy was incredible, very accommodating and helped me get the booking. We were working in the Detroit area and were very fortunate to find such a wonderful place that not only had great views but was spacious, very clean, had plenty of parking, and was just a great home to be able to stay in while away.

Wedding stay

The location is really beautiful. Mornings on the front deck with coffee watching the sun on the mountains is really relaxing and refreshing. Everything was as good as can be in a rental property. Would definitely recommend this property to everyone. I hope we get to visit again sometime. Thanks to the host for great communication.

Awesome place

Had a mini-family reunion on the lake. The house was lovely and everyone had a great time. The only very slight negatives were no bathroom upstairs for the loft and the outdoor grill was only half-working. But overall 5 stars!! Would definitely stay again!

Detroit weekend vacation

The property is nice, but has lots of stairs. Some up to porch, some inside to main level. Showers are very small. Many extra thoughtful items for renters. The biggest problem was the lack of shade outside. The only shade was the small porch and the temperatures were between 90 and 100. I will say the ac worked very well. The other big factor was the lack of a bathroom on the second floor. If all these things were addressed the house would be perfect. I understand that the owners have not owned the property for very long, and in talking to the owner, they are still working on it.

Family Vacation

We had a great time staying here. There is plenty of room and comfortable sleeping arrangements. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. The house has games and toys for everyone with fun lake activities nearby. The only thing I’d note is that if you have a large group, be sure to bring extra paper towels, toilet paper and trash bags which can be purchased at the little store in Detroit in a pinch. We had a great time overall, thank you for opening up your home to us.

Very comfortable for family with little kids and 6 adults

The space was very comfortable, everyone had their own area as well as a common area. A lot of stairs, if you have kids who are crawling, bring baby gates. The main area has 2 stairway entrances. The amenities were awesome and if we had questions or issues the owner was very good at responding to messages within an hour. Parking space was awesome for 3 vehicles and a big boat trailer. More could have fit there. The floors could have been a little cleaner for being a shoeless house, but not bad. We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely do it again!

Beautiful place

Home so nice we booked it twice!

Our last stay at this home was so great that it was an easy decision to re-book when we returned to the area for more work this spring. The home was just as pleasant as the last time, and we are looking forward to returning again next month! An absolute must book if you are in the area - even if you aren't, maybe you should be! Detroit is a lovely town.

Fabulous home and wonderful hosts!

The house served our needs perfectly and had plenty of room for our group of 4 adults. There were lots of thoughtful, personal touches throughout the house, and communication with the host was excellent. It really felt like staying in a HOME - and a cozy one at that! The location is great, super close to the lake and downtown, with a really nice view. We will be back for sure and would absolutely recommend this house to anyone looking to stay in the Detroit area.

Great Lake House!

Delightful, inviting Detroit Lake cabin

We had a wonderful, peaceful stay at this charming cabin within 2 miles from Detroit Lake. You can actually see the lake since the house is on a slightly elevated area. Nancy (owner) was very prompt in her responses, very approachable, kind and generous. We couldn't have found a better place to spend two nights away from home. We highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone wishing to relax and enjoy Detroit Lake!

Fabulous Home

This home was very comfortable it had all necessities. Our family cooked meals in kitchen, BBQ’d and played games. The beds were very nice and bathrooms adequately stocked. We will definitely stay again.

We live in nearby Salem, OR. This is our first vacation home as a rental, but Nancy has many years in the hospitality business from opening the Napa Valley Railway Inn to managing Embassy Suites Hotels.

Sharing our home and vacationing with friends and family is our pastime. We love to travel locally and abroad, wherever you are, it's all about the experience!

Detroit is less than an hour from the Willamette Valley. You can escape to the water and the mountains in no time.

The home is large for the family and friends to gather together and still have personal space. With four separate sleeping spaces, it's a great spot for a extended family gathering, guys or girl's weekend, church retreat, or teambuilding weekend.

There is even a short path up the hill where you can pitch a large tent. Lots of great memories to be made here.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

The original owners planted Bear Grass as part of the landscaping. A family friend made the Bear Grass Lodge sign using a magnifying glass to burn in the details into the wood plank that hangs in the entryway. The name has stuck!

We have lots of parking and plenty of room for boat trailers. Inside there's plenty of elbow room and outside lots of space for everyone to enjoy the outdoors.
