Gorgeous setting on the Llano River

  • 5 of 5

Our family loves this great place on the river! We’ve stayed here twice before. We enjoy the beautiful scenery, exploring the river, fishing, watching the birds, a campfire at night and generally communing with nature. The cabin is very comfortable and well equipped with comfy beds and all the amenities of home. Highly recommend this beautiful spot for nature lovers and anyone wanting a getaway.

Beautiful Texas Hill Country Retreat

  • 5 of 5

Spending time in the Texas Hill Country is always a pleasant treat but this private home on the Llano river was truly exceptional. The screened in porch which extends the entire front of the house is ideal for looking at birds, the river and sunrise. The firepit at the front of the house was perfect for watching the river and gazing at a spectacular array of stars each night. The house cozy with plenty of space to stretch out and relax. The interior is nicely  furnished  in  a contemporary style with a rustic Texas twist .The kitchen was fully equipped to cook meals.

The whole experience at Rio de Looney was amazing. This is a unique and private place to stay in this beautiful area of Texas.

Clean great decor in house

  • 3 of 5

House and location from town are great. Lack of privacy would really be the only negative. Had a car come in down to house and turn and leave within first 10 minutes of our stay. Next day a family (nice folks) pulled in on the unfenced property to the west and walked right through our fishing. To the east 4 large condo style cabins could hear car horns and people talking. Also disposing of your own trash after paying a hundred dollar fee seems crazy. Beds are awesome great interior.

Lovely River House

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Rio De Looney. I highly recommend that you make a stop in town at the feed store and pick up birdseed and thistle seeds for the many bird feeders. You can mix up some sugar water for the hummingbirds when you get there. You will be rewarded with more birds than you can count. The place is really clean and beautiful with a great patio and outdoor grilling area. About 100 yards down the path is the Llano river. We enjoyed eating at Coopers BBQ, going to Castell General Store for BBQ and beers, hiking the trail at Enchanted Rock, making a day trip to Fredericksburg, and tried to see the bat cave in Mason but it was closed for 3 days. We were lucky enough to see a beautiful sunset after a brief rain on our last night.
