Welcome to the Anchor's Away Cottage! This vintage beach cottage is a perfect romantic getaway and has one bedroom and one bathroom and is in the highly desirable Yacht Harbor area in Santa Cruz. Tastefully decorated with all the comforts of home, including WiFi, cable, off-street parking, and a washer/dryer. The cottage has a sunny back patio for BBQ'ing and sits directly across from the Santa Cruz Yacht Harbor!
Additional Pet fees do apply per pet. Dogs must not exceed 45 lbs and must be over 1 year old. If you feel your situation regarding your pet warrants reconsideration of these guidelines, please contact the Beachnest office.

Had a wonderful two night stay in May and was incredibly happy with the property and area. The place was incredibly cute and perfect for a romantic getaway. Steps from the beach, with a porch and lovely back patio to spend time in. The location is wonderful, a 25 minute walk to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk and more a short walk or drive away. I can’t wait to book my next stay here!

My 70+ father stayed here and absolutely loved it. The location could not be beat, and he said any street noise was not heard in the bedroom, which is in the back. It was comfortable for him and had everything he needed for a week at the beach.
This is a cozy, clean beach home that accommodated three of us comfortably. The location is across the street from Twin Lakes Beach, The Crow's Nest, and harbor.

The cottage looks over the boat harbor and is a few steps to the ocean. It is clean and has every amenity a traveller would use for a holiday stay. I brought my dog and there is a small enclosed patio in the back with a BBQ and chairs and tables. I would book this little house again.

House is great in a location that’s perfect for beach, food, biking and being near the marina. House was immaculate and well equipped. Outdoor patio was perfect for morning coffee and storing our bikes. Would happily recommend to anyone looking to stay!
We very much enjoyed our stay over the Christmas weekend. The house is clean and is just as described in the listing. It took a couple of phone calls and texts to have someone address a hot water issue but everything worked out fine in the end. Great location. We would stay here again.

Lovely spot for a family of 4. Very close to the beach, can walk back to the house anytime to shower, grab a snack, or take a little break. Not an easy walk to the Boardwalk, so we took an Uber to get there. All the comforts of home to be able to cook meals and clean clothes. Would definitely stay here again!

Thank you for choosing Beachnest Vacation Rentals, Penelope, and sorry you were disappointed. Thanks for bringing the running toilet to our attention ... it has been addressed. And, we have not any other complaints from guests about little hot water in the shower, and having to do dishes at the end of the stay. This is a private home, so what would you expect?
The only issue we had was my wife was uncomfortable and I found it odd that the VRBO listing does not mention this property being "a shared property" as described by the management booklet inside the property. This being a shared property is known only after you have rented (at a 500.00 per night rate). So what happens is you are constantly wondering when and if someone will use and arrive at the cottage in the back. Your stay becomes awkward. VRBO should make it requirement to list "a shared property" in their original listing descriptions. These comments are from prior property owners that rented our properties through VRBO.

This is not a shared property in any way, and so sorry for any confusion on that. The owner has a shed in the back yard that is locked with her personal possessions and not available for guest use. Other than that, this is a single family home with off street parking and charming sunny couryard in the back, and steps to the sand at Twin Lakes Beach!
Perfect property for pets, nice enclosed backyard. The backyard had an amazing Honeysuckle bush which covered the back wall! It was in bloom and smelled amazing! Also the front deck was perfect for watching sunsets. The front deck was great for watching the harbor with beautiful costal breeze.Walking across the street for coffee and a breakfast treat, a Mexican restaurant with subperb margaritas! Then top that off with the Crow's Nest for Happy Hour Upper Deck. On Wednesday's there is an amazing sailboat regalia! Also great for dog walks and bikerides. Rate this property a 10!
Excellent place and location! Perfect for a long weekend. Bath towels were super luxurious! Next time, we will bring our own shower gel and hair products. What was provided seemed watered down and in relatively short supply.
This house was perfect for our small family. The location was perfect, steps to the beach. The house was clean and had everything we needed. We will be staying in the future.

Clean, cute, amazing location, on site parking, fenced backyard, soft and fluffy bath towels, comfy bed, smart TV, great front porch and backyard to sit and read/nap.
Living room twin bed/sofa situation not too comfy (mattresses have lost their spring), sofa pillows need new covers/cleaning, and need paper towels in kitchen.
All over, still a great stay and would stay again!
