About Jim & Stephanie Carpenter
We have lived in the Klamath Basin since 1991. We have been actively involved in natural resource issues, construction and guide and outfitting. Most recently we finalized a 7 year project, 'Creating A Sense of Arrival' with the remodel of a Visitor Center for the City of Klamath Falls to showcase our beautiful downtown, trail system and waterfront area. This 'One Stop' location offers visitors and locals a place to get information about our area from the Chamber of Commerce and Discover Klamath. Other tenants include Klamath County Economic Development, the Hombuilders Association, Watershed Partnership and Ducks Unlimited. We are recipients of the City of Klamath Falls 'Green Pelican Award' and US Fish & Wildlife Wetlands Conservation Award.
Jim & Stephanie Carpenter purchased this House in 1996
Why Jim & Stephanie Carpenter chose Klamath Falls
We built our home in this very special location because it is on the waterfront and centrally located.
What makes this House unique
This property is unique due to it's up close and personal all season watchable bird and wildlife, which can be viewed from the comfort of your living room or outdoors on the deck. Boating, birding and fishing are a just a few steps away. Downtown Klamath Falls is only 5 minutes and the airport a mere 15 minutes. If you like to hike or bike the Link River Trailhead can be seen from the living room. This Trail takes you to historic Main Street where you can enjoy lunch and visit a museum.

Perfect spot for birders and boaters.
Several years ago we saw this house across the water from the park while watching the grebes dance and knew we had to stay in it. The site is unbeatable and the house was perfect for 2 couples. We saw dozens of birds during our stay in the Klamath Basin. Most special were the dancing grebes, green and night herons from the house, the egrets roosting in the trees across the water and a white headed woodpecker pair in nearby Moore Park. Also very glad they allowed us to bring our small dog. He was mesmerized by all the bird activity...luckily he's not a barker or bird chaser. Whew.
The birding is exceptional this time of year! We love hosting our home to such appreciative guests. We appreciate your visit & look forward to seeing you in the future!
First off let me say Stephanie is an awesome host and coupled with a beautiful home makes for an great stay. We had an extended stay here during a travel contract and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! The floor to ceiling windows in the living room looking out onto the lake/river really is something quite amazing. Many days spent watching the birds in the river (didn't even know I was into that) and deer walk through the yard. I highly recommend this location for anyone anticipating a stay in Klamath Falls as you'll be hard pressed to find a more relaxing location.
Thank you Stephanie for opening your home to us!

I thoroughly enjoyed having this young couple who were super enthusiastic about everything. So positive and cheerful !
Truly dream guests, one of a kind and so happy to have them at our special waterfront home.
The house is built with all glass on the water side so you can really enjoy the view and all the birds on the water. The house was clean and in good repair and the owners were pleasant to communicate with.
The Pelicans are in full force now & spending a lot of time here feeding before they head south foot the winter.
The young Grebes are also busy feeding before leaving for warmer locations along the Pacific Flyway.
If you love to be out in nature, this the house for you. If you would rather stay indoors, this is the house for you.If you seek serenity, this is the house for you. If you want to take a 10 minute drive into town for great food and site seeing, this house is for you. I don't know who would not enjoy this home. First of all, home is clean and neat. The view is amazing. The lake is feet away from the house. The owners are very responsive if there is something you need or just can't figure out. They also contacted us via text almost daily just to make sure everything was OK, which was very nice of them. The house is large and very well decorated. Everything you need is supplied. We brought pots and pans expecting to find very few of these items. That was not necessary. If you love to fish, you need not travel any further than the backyard. The master bedroom has a great jet tub, so bring your bubble bath! And the bed in master bedroom is so comfortable, you will want to take it home! We have rented homes in the past and haven't always been pleased. This was a unique experience. The owners don't oversell the house at all. It is as described and you will find hidden gems too. We do not look forward to leaving today, but we are looking forward to coming back soon! We give this rental and the owners our highest recommendation!
We thoroughly enjoyed having these guests. Really what more is there to say?
Klamath Falls Vacation
This waterfront house is a wonderful place to stay. It is well designed, well equipped for anyone's visit. The owners are easy to contact if needed. From this house we were able to see a wide variety of birds, saw more wildlife from the house than in our excursions around the area. Crater Lake is an easy drive from here. Northern California is close by with Tule Lake and Lava Beds National Monument. Klamath Falls is a short distance away, so restaurants, shopping are easily accessible. Even with the wildfires burning in the west, smoke was an issue, our stay was a very enjoyable.
So glad you enjoyed your visit. You hit all the high points! The Klamath Basin is a wonderful place to live & visit.
