The Carmichael Estate sits in rural South Lanarkshire, nestled at the foot of Tinto hill, halfway between Lanark and Biggar, just 10 minutes from the M74 and 1 hour drive to both Glasgow and Edinburgh

South Lodge is a cosy single story cottage featuring fantastic views of Tinto Hill with direct access to the hill itself. Great for keen walkers, writers or just anyone looking to escape.
South Lodge has two bedrooms, a master king bed and a twin room with two single beds. There is an open plan fully fitted kitchen/dining/ living area with fantastic views of Tinto hill, a bathroom with walk in shower, basin and toilet. Outside is a separate coal and log shed to store the firewood and a laundry room with a washer and a dryer.
Fantastic woodland walks, Tinto hill climbs and adventures await you if you choose to stay in South Lodge at Carmichael Estate
The cottage is also a great base for exploring Southern Scotland. We are within day trip distance of Edinburgh, Glasgow, The Borders, Dumfries and Galloway, Stirling and Ayrshire. Ideal for travellers with their own vehicle.

South Lodge
Looks exactly like in the pictures don't expect modern furniture. old-school tv with satellite channels and working internet.
I like the access road to the lodge covered in leaves - magic.
I have stayed for 7 days, overall cleanliness was ok ( don't look under the beds). Warm rooms as long as you switch heating.
beautiful views, quiet place.
Bring your own water to drink, I wouldn't drink tap water.
Enjoy your stay.
