3 Bedroom Beachbox Steps Away From Beach And Dairy Queen!

This 3 bedroom beachbox has everything you need on one floor. 1 queen, 1 double and 2 twin beds. Master has it's own half bath. a rollaway cot is also available. Linens are included in your rental fee. No need to remember which sheets to bring! Beds will be made up and ready for your arrival! Kitchen and living room have an open floor plan. Center island has three stools for chatting while cooking or an easy breakfast. All utensils and pots and pans are available. Just off the kitchen is a huge screened in porch and on the front of the house there is a wide open deck, great for taking in some rays or having an afternoon cocktail while listening to the waves. There is also a newly built outside shower with plenty of hooks and a changing area. Property is the 3rd back from the beach on a quiet cul-de-sac. Just 75 feet takes you to a boardwalk/beach over a flat dune. You won't find a more comfortable home. Bonus * at the end of the street is a Dairy Queen!

Great beach haven!

We have been coming to the Tipsy Pelican for 3 years now and love the memories we have made there. It's clean, cozy and convenient to both the beach (easy walk) and the amenities of Avon.

Great spot for dogs, close to the beach

We had a great time relaxing at the Tipsy Pelican. The outdoor and screened in porches were great and we were pleasantly surprised to find a washer and dryer. The 1.5 baths were enough for us and the walk to the beach is quick and easy.

It was a great vacation property that held my small friend group. Very close stay to the beach and was helpful with not needing to drive. Cute small beach town that makes it feel like home.

The perfect getaway

This is a great house! Very clean, kitchen well stocked, beds are comfortable and it is in the perfect location. Not a far walk to the beach and only a short drive to the sound. Grocery store is not far. Avon is a great little town to stay in.

Beach vacay

We have been coming to OBX for over 20 years, and Avon for over 13. We enjoyed the convenience of the location of the property, and the quaint aspect of Tipsy Pelican. Other than the miscommunication in regards to having the home cleaned in time for our check in, we had a fantastic time, and would stay here again.

First time in OBX

We had a great experience at the Tipsy Pelican and in the OBX! The house is in a great location to walk to the beach! It offers all the amenities you would expect and anything you would need in the kitchen! There were plenty of books and games to borrow as well. We enjoyed the screened in space outside in the evenings. Overall, a great experience! Definitely coming back!

Great location and well appointed

The owners communicated very well prior to our stay. We loved the location. The beach home was steps from the public access walk through dunes to land directly on the beach. Avon is the perfect speed for us. The area had an assortment of nice boutiques and shops and restaurants. We recommend Oceania Bistro, Ninos Pizza and Pangea Tavern. The house was well appointed and exactly as advertised. The outside shower was super convenient for washing after a long day at the beach. Cute decor. We would love to return.

Great location.. A bit dirty

The family had a great week at the beach. Location was great. The house was right size for a 5 person family. The one complaint was cleanliness of the property. There were cigarette butts all over the outside. We found trash and used q-tips on the floor. The screens on the porch also had holes leading to bugs getting in.

Leave Your Worries Behind

This was our first visit to this home and it won't be the last. It was very clean and had everything we needed. I loved the decor throughout the house. The screened in porch was nice to relax with a glass of wine. It also helped with keeping beach towels, flip flops, etc. out of the house to avoid tracking in the sand. The only complaint and it had absolutely nothing to do with the property, was the extremely hot sand from the dune to the beach. We had a very hot week, temps with humidity in excess of 100 for a few days. If you have little ones, please be aware.. Our family enjoyed the Dairy Queen at the end of the street. We had some really nice meals at Pangea Tavern, The Froggy Dog, Oceana's Bistro and Ketch 55. A visit to Stu's Food Truck at the Avon Pier is a MUST! And, we had the best steamed shrimp from Sunrise Seafood. I would recommend this place for a laid- back relaxing vacation!

Nice little house surrounded by taller homes

Bottom line - We enjoyed our stay. It’s decorated cute and is a fine size for 3 couples. However, the house wasn’t the cleanest: -We moved the twin beds together to find a dead cockroach under the bed. -Dishes weren’t clean (this is the responsibility of the renters and isn’t quality checked) and the floors and kitchen could use a good cleaning. -We were missing pillow cases in our linen package. -Bring hand soap and laundry detergent as it’s not included. You’ll probably also need more toilet paper than what is provided. Also we did not receive our check in information/email in advance but I called the hosts the day of arrival and they told me the code to get in. I’m guessing there’s some kind of glitch in the system because they said they sent it and resent it.

We had a great time at this property. So close to the beach and we went down multiple times a day. The house was clean and had great A/C. The enclosed porch area was a big plus to keep bugs out. We will consider this place again and recommend it!

Perfect beachside spot!

This was a great spot three homes from the beach. Quiet neighborhood street. Easy beach access. Close to all the restos and Food Lion. Had plenty of kitchen equipment and diverse seating areas - open, screened porch, and indoor. Loved our stay!

Great Space and Location

My family and I enjoyed our stay at the Tipsy Pelican. It was nice to be able to bring our dog on vacation with us especially since not many places welcome pets. However, the Outer Banks was very pet friendly in general. The house was a great space with enough room for 5 people to spread out. The access to the beach was only a few feet away and it was also close to many little shops, eateries, and the grocery store. The house had everything we needed besides the towels and paper products. It was great having a full service kitchen including a dishwasher all week. I really liked have the option of sitting outside on either the deck or in the screened porch, the deck had a gate so our dog could sit outside with us. Avon is a little outside of where people stay in the Outer Banks, but we really enjoyed the low key and uncrowded feel of the town and beaches.
