Beanie's Bungalow has the beach and plenty of it! Located just two lots back from the ocean, Beanie's Bungalow is a quick walk to one of the Outer Banks' top beaches on Hatteras Island. The boardwalk to the most pristine, uncrowded stretch of beach on Avon's north end is just steps away. World class fishing, surfing, kite boarding, sunbathing, beach-combing, and swimming are located right past the beach walkway. Beanie's Bungalow guests receive complimentary seasonal access to Club Hatteras — the island's top spot for family fun, featuring the largest heated pool, cabanas, showers, a kiddie pool, playground, and picnic area.

The under-house at Beanie's Bungalow provides shade and has full decking with seating, fish cleaning station, fabulous hot/cold shower, and convenient clotheslines. Fire up the charcoal park grill and enjoy laid-back cookouts after a day at the beach. The large furnished sundeck above the garage catches every ray of sunshine and allows for listening to the waves and surf in the nearby ocean by day and star gazing by night. Bring the bikes because Avon is two-wheeler friendly. Did we mention there are two ice cream shops and restaurants within walking distance? Beanie's Bungalow is situated in a quiet location in Avon on Hatteras Island with nearby local shops, a grocery store, and charter services.

Beanie's Bungalow is easy on the vacationer with only one set of stairs and all rooms located on a single level. The living room in this unique octagon-shaped home has a cathedral ceiling, seaside chestnut flooring, colorful comfortable furniture, a huge library of books, LED TV/DVD (streaming live TV), games, movies and free FAST internet/WiFi. The kitchen is fully equipped and has all the necessary appliances, a breakfast counter overlooking a large picture window, and a full-size stacked washer/dryer. The dining area is an addition that opens up the space and produces an abundance of light. The centrally located full bath contains a tub and shower. There are 3 bedrooms: bedroom one contains a queen bed, LED TV (streaming live TV), and a half bath; bedroom two has a queen bed and DVD player; and bedroom three has a twin-over-full pyramid bunk bed. Beanie's Bungalow has great beach décor in every room.

Things to Know
You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking, which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check in until we have received your signature electronically. Please contact us directly if you do not receive this agreement. Linens and towels are provided with this vacation rental home. No pets are allowed at this vacation rental home. Free high-speed WiFi is available. This home does not have a landline. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles. No smoking on premises. Guests have access to the Club Hatteras Pool Facility; located at 41156 Hwy 12, Avon. Additional details around this facility will be shared in your check-in email and during the check-in process. The club is typically open Mid-May to Mid- through early October (weather permitting and subject to close without notice).

A great family getaway

We had a wonderful week at Beanie’s Cottage. The cottage was comfortable and an easy walking distance from the beach, and a great location for an OBX family vacation.

Beanie's is a great cottage.

With the short walk to the nice wide beach along with the small number of steps to enter and exit the cottage, we very much enjoyed our second visit to Beanie's. Outside shower was set up nicely but could use a little more water pressure.

Absolutely lovely

Everything was very clean and as described. The house is tucked back off the road with a very short walk to the beach access over the dunes. It was a lovely stay with restaurants and shops with walking distance. Avon Pier is also a short drive away. We would definitely stay again.

Wonderful place to stay!

Such a great beach house! We loved being so close to the beach (which was so beautiful..the best in OBX and great for fishing) as well as having a sun deck to hang out on. Everything we needed was provided, even games and movies for the kids. Close to amenities (grocery store, reasturants, fishing gear, pier, etc) right around the corner. Would recommend to anyone wanting and great beach get away. We will be coming back and renting again soon!

Perfect little place for our family

We enjoyed our time in beanies bungalow! Clean and accommodating, loved the outdoor shower and enjoyed the deck. Spacious rooms and comfortable beds. Plenty enough dishes and pans for meals in. Short walk to the beach with the perfect dune feel. Very clean and loved the decorations made us feel at home! Thank you would love to come back again.

The house was great and the location to the beach

The house was very comfortable and close to the beach. The house was fully stocked and the linens were there upon arrival. There were lots of things to do in the surrounding area, but it still felt like a private get away. The rental management company was very accommodating and answered all of our questions. We would definitely rent this house next year and recommend it to anyone looking for a great beach house near the ocean.

The bungalow was comfortable for the 5 of us. Good location, close to everything and just a 2min walk to the beach. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans. Only knock is that it was a little small but it was very clean so not a big deal.

Nice beach house

My family enjoyed our stay at Beanie’s Bungalow! We were impressed with the fully stocked kitchen and under house shower and patio area. The living room was very nice also. The realty company was easy to work with. The washer had a burning smell the second day of our trip, and a technician was sent out same day to fix it. The close walk to the beach was a plus!

Property just as pictured. Bring a beach cart with wide treaded rubber wheels to transport items to beach.....hard walk thru the dunes (plastic wheeled carts will not work). Quiet area with small selection of stores and restaurants. Ketch 55 is delicious!

Great time at Beanies Bungalow

An adorable place, clean, well stocked and steps from the beach! My only comment is that we found the beds/pillows to be a little uncomfortable. I think if we had brought our own pillows it would’ve been doable. Just something to keep in mind if that’s important to you.

Nice beach house; disappointing beach access

Enjoyed the well equipped, clean Beanie’s Bungalow. The biggest disappointment was the access to the beach. Even though the entrance was close, the trip thru the dunes was very difficult, requiring our family to access the beach 6 blocks away is car everyday!!!

We love Beanies Bungalow!

Cute comfy home feel. Fun beach decorations throughout. If you're stuck inside because of the rain like we were you will have plenty to keep you occupied with the absolutely comprehensive collection of books, DVDs and streaming availability. Although there is a wonderfully stocked kitchen there was no tea/coffee! Kind of puzzling because there's a kettle and coffee maker. Would love to stay again and hopefully it won't rain!

Here’s your great beach vacation.

Beanie’s Bungalow provides your home base for a great vacation. The house is tucked in on a quiet street a short walk through the dunes to the beach. It has everything you need, including an exceptionally well equipped kitchen. When you are indoors, there is plenty of comfortable seating including 2 couches. The outdoor seating is on a deck outside the front door which unfortunately doesn’t have any shade. The shaded area is under the house, which did not appeal to us.

Great family house

The location is great, the house is super cute. A lot of the houses around Outer Banks are multi level, with lots of balconies. With a 3 year old and 2 year old I loved that the house only had one entrance/exit and wasn’t multiple stories, made for less stress with the kids. It was a great little house. The only negative things I would say is that there is no full body mirror any where in the home. Which is super petty, but I did wish there was one every time I went to get ready, and although the beach is super close it is a bit of hike to get down to the water but there isn’t anything anyone can do about that. I would stay here again.
