The cabin was charming and the view was absolutely beautiful! We enjoyed the sunrise in the mornings, the wood fireplace, cooking dinners and playing cards. Thank you for the great communication on the cabin and area, Frank! We definately would love to come back.
This is a dreamy location on Madeline Island that allows you to enjoy your vacation. The cabin had everything we needed to cook multiple meals and was very clean upon arrival. The host was very communicative and welcoming - we’ll be back!
Beautiful rustic cottage with a super view of Lake Superior, relaxing decor and setting, and everything and anything you would need to enjoy your stay. Definitely an A outing.
Frank was great to work with. Loved the location and view as well as the history to the lodge/cabin. Nice sandy beach. Saw northern lights one night and lots of stars.
We absolutely loved this vintage cottage set in a perfect location. It was just as described, only better. The owner, Frank did an excellent job of communicating with us and preparing for our stay. We would definitely book this property again.
We came with the whole family - kids and dogs - for the half marathon. The cabin is beautiful, well stocked and has an amazing view and beach access. The owner is very quick to respond and welcoming. We loved it!
The cabin was perfect for us. We loved relaxing on the couches and chairs at times. We also played games at the table. The kitchen had everything we needed. The beds are super comfortable. Can’t wait to come back!
Beautiful cabin with a great location-3 miles to town and 3 miles to the state park. Enjoyed the sand beach for swimming and the dock for relaxing with morning coffee. :)
This property has all you need for a great stay! We loved getting to explore Madeline Island (a true hidden gem of Wisconsin). The cabin itself is warm, inviting, and cozy. Whether it was gazing at the stars while sitting around the fire, waking up to the beautiful views, or grilling a steak, you are sure to have a wonderful time. Make sure to check out the parks on the island and the private beach on property! This stay can’t be beat!
We’ve been to Madeline Island many times and this property is by far the best place we’ve stayed. It is charming, comfortable and super clean! The host was available to answer questions, and very knowledgable about the island. Great swimming beach and dock. Wonderful family memories made. We’ll be coming back!
This is our 14th year visiting Madeline Island and our first time staying at this place. Loved the location on the island (~2.5 miles from downtown, ~4 to Big Bay State park), making both easy to bike to. The dock & beach across the road are spectacular. The whole family (2 parents, 20 & 17 year old kids) enjoyed spending time swimming, reading, lounging there! Frank was great a great host!
What a great time we had on Madeline Island! The property was very cute and charming. Loved the little gift that Frank left us at check in. We enjoyed the deck and the lovely dock/beach access. Just a very serene setting. The house was clean and the beds were vey comfortable. We'd love to go back!
This was the perfect spot for a long weekend on Madeline Island, being about halfway between the ferry and Big Bay State Park. (I'd love to come back with bikes.) The cabin was lovely and bigger than I expected, with spaces including a screened porch, Superior-facing deck and big stone fireplace. The little beach looked like it'd be nice for swimming; it was too chilly when we visited, but still a great spot to watch the moon rise.
We have been going to Madeline Island for years and this was the first time we have had the pleasure of staying at Cedar Lodge. This is our absolute favorite place to stay! The cottage is a little piece of heaven making us feel as if it was our home. There are more amenities and style then any place we have experienced on the island. The view is the absolute best and the private sand beach is beyond amazing. Having coffee on the dock is so peaceful and beautiful! Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven with us!

Thank you for your review. You are outstanding guest and we hope that you will return again.
The cottage was the perfect accommodation for my husband and I while our daughter attended the Madeline Island School of the Arts for the week. The lake views are stunning and you can hear the waves gently hitting the shore…so relaxing. We spent 2 days exploring Big Bay State Park which is only a few miles away. The cottage was well equipped. We had everything we needed including paper towels, soap, toilet paper, hair dryer and more. Thank you Frank!
Our stay was fabulous! Unbelievable views of Lake Superior from the living, dining room, deck and screened in porch. The beach was pure sand with a huge dock. We were alone the entire time of swimming and kayaking. Nice bed linens, towel, and throws for the cool nights. A giant orange lemon lime squeezer! Quality glassware of every kind and beautiful dishes and pans.
We have previously owned a beach cabin on the Oregon coast. Since moving to the midwest in 2018, we have not found anything that can touch that experience, until now. This beach cabin, with its wood interior and wonderful deck, allowed us to sit and look at the water in so much peace. There is a road between the house and the water, but very little traffic. And the dock is sweet.
And on two days, we magically actually had waves crashing! That completed the Oregon coast parallels for us.
And by the way, if you are attending Madeline Island School of the Arts (Madelineartschool.com) which I highly recommend (summer camp for adults), this is the perfect off-campus location to stay for a true vacation. We'll be back.
