Great place

We were very happy with the place. We found it well equipped and really enjoyed the pool. The house is well situated so you can enjoy the island. We had a small issue, we contacted the number we had and it was solved right away. I would stay there again if going back to Madeira.

Everything went well as it was excellent property. Only improvements would be getting better directions to the actual house and how to operate the appliances. We kept the place clean, but still had problem with ants. Overall we were very satisfied.

Stunning

Absolutely stunning villa in an amazing location. Only 45 min easy drive from the airport, we were met by Vanda and Julietta who were great and showed us around the villa. Both were very informative and lovely - the welcome pack was such a lovely touch. The pictures do not do the villa justice. It is a modern, clean place that you can relax into immediately. It is much bigger than what the pictures make it look like. The outside area was brilliant with views over the sea and perfect sunsets. Comfy sun loungers and a clean big pool. We even had a few BBQs int he evenings. Lounge area was lovely and comfy - we pulled the second sofa round so all 6 of us could relax in the evenings watching some tv. Everything you could possibly need int he kitchen and everything is perfect condition - even a coffee machine! Luxury! The bedrooms were so well laid out and beds were very comfy and showers a good pressure - loads of wardrobe space. Loved the fact we could get all of our washing done too int he utility room before coming home. 5 minute walk from the marina with its' restaurants, supermarket and sandy beach - a bit of an uphill walk on the way back! Or a 2 minute drive with plenty of parking. We fell in love with Madeira and Grayci's villa so much so we are re-booking for next year! Thanks again!

Schöne Lage, spezielles Haus

Insgesamt ein schönes, großzügiges Haus in toller Lage mit sehr schönem Meerblick - dafür auf jeden Fall 5 Sterne! Der Pool hat eine wunderbare Südlage und wurde trotz der im März noch recht kühlen Temperaturen öfters genutzt. Die Poolheizung sollte man sich dafür allerdings gönnen - selbst 24 Grad sind nicht besonders warm. Etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig: das Schlafzimmer auf der Poolseite hat ein "integriertes" Bad (d. h. das Bad ist nur durch eine halbhohe Mauer vom Schlafbereich getrennt), ohne eigenes WC. Die Bewohner dieses Zimmers müssen das "allgemeine" WC neben der Eingangstür nutzen. Das zweite Schlafzimmer auf der Poolebene hat eine kleine eigene Küchenzeile und ein Bad mit WC, durch eine halboffene Tür vom Schlafbereich getrennt. In unseren zwei Wochen war es dort sehr kühl und anfangs fühlte sich alles etwas "klamm" an. Das dritte Schlafzimmer in der ersten Etage ist über den Hof und eine Außentreppe zu erreichen, hat ebenfalls eine kleine eigene Küchenzeile und ein eigenes Bad. Die Ausstattung - wenn man Geschirr aus den beiden Pantryküchen mit in die "Hauptküche" überführt - ist gut ausreichend für 6 Personen. An die allgegenwärtigen winzigen Ameisen gewöhnt man sich. Es gibt nur einen einzigen Haustürschlüssel - für drei Parteien etwas unpraktisch. Es gab zusätzlich zwei Schlüssel für die bodentiefen Fenster im "hinteren" Schlafzimmer, über die man auch das Haus betreten kann, dabei aber das Schlafzimmer durchqueren muss. Mindestens 2-3 Haustürschlüssel wären schön bei einem Haus mit drei Schlafzimmern. Der Parkplatz im Hof ist für zwei Wagen eng. Unsere zwei SUVs passten nur hintereinander hinein, was sehr umständlich war, so dass wir einen Wagen permanent auf der Straße geparkt hielten. Die Tordurchfahrt in den Innenhof ist recht eng. Einer der beiden Sonnenschirme auf der Terrasse war defekt. Dies meldeten wir direkt am ersten Tag, aber erhielten keine Rückmeldung dazu; ein Austausch erfolgte nicht. Ebenfalls etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig fanden wir, dass die Kommunikation nicht wie von Fewo-direkt empfohlen über die Fewo-Seite erfolgte, sondern durch die Agentur immer über unsere private Emailadresse. Zudem erfolgt die Zahlung nicht wie sonst üblich einfach über die Kreditkarte, sondern man muss Anzahlung und Restzahlung "händisch" überweisen (und rechtzeitig daran denken). Alles in allem ein schönes, spezielles Haus. Wir haben unsere zwei Wochen im "Graycis House" sehr genossen.

Our perfect winter escape

We really enjoyed our stay at this property because of its super sheltered and sunny location for our February stay.The property has great ancillary capacity for children or shared groups (which we did not need) whilst the master suite was heavenly opening onto the pool. The only draw back was that having had an unusually wild and wet few weeks, sitting indoors is very dark with heavily tinted windows but this would clearly not be any concern in normal sunny times when every window could be drawn open to the full. We had windows open at every opportunity and in Feb had no problem with flies or bugs listed elsewhere ( so we never got to use the electric fly swat we purchased up the road!!) Really peaceful and loved the morning wake up from cockerels next-door..ive even recorded them.

2nd visit - Cant ask for more!

This is our second time to Madeira and our second time staying in Grayci's House. As my first review I have nothing bad to say about this place - situated on the sunniest side of Madeira (this is very true!), only an hour tops from the airport, great parking for 2 cars, secure, modern, clean. Superb pool... amazon views - a short walk down hill to the marina and restaurants and beach and grocery store. I am sure we will be back!

Einfach ein tolles Haus

Wir waren zu viert vom 25.12.18 bis zum 08.01.19 in Graycis House und total begeistert! Allen voran natürlich der beheizte Pool mit dem sagenhaften Blick auf's Meer. Aber auch der Wohnraum, der Essbereich, die Küche und die Schlafräume waren top ausgestattet und haben unsere Erwartungen voll erfüllt. Wenn es überhaupt etwas zu bemängeln gibt, dann dass es leider nur einen Fön vor Ort gibt. Ein zweiter wäre von Vorteil. Das Haus ist großartig, die Investition in einen geheizten Pool im Oktober hat sich gelohnt und wir haben den grandiosen Ausblick aufs Meer mitten in den Bananenpflanzen sehr genossen! Wir werden wiederkommen!

Great place shame about the handover.

Would highly recommend Our Maderia. The team are fantastic and nothing is too much trouble. The speed at which they answer any problems is amazing! The Villa. On arrival we were not met and the lady met us some hours later and stopped all of 5 mins. The villa is lovely and really good for lots of people as there's plenty of rooms to escape too if you need a break. On the surface everything appeared ok. However we had no hot water. On contacting our handover lady she said she would speak to the cleaner (who lives in the house behind) and get her to come over and help. We NEVER saw her or heard from the rep again! Thankfully my husband found the boiler and sorted it. We moved the main bedroom around to fit the children in with us. This was an interesting experience. Based on the layer of fluff, dust, dirt and dead cockroaches the bed had clearly not been moved in many years! The bathroom in the main bathroom flooded and on inspection the drain was blocked with so much hair! The pool has a filtration cover missing at the deep end and I was somewhat concerned about the safety of this! The villa is in a beautiful location (if not out of the way) surrounded by Banana plants. This is where the next problem came! Flys all day and cockroaches the minute the sun went down. We couldn't use the patio area after 9 as it was running alive! Calheta although lovely doesn't have a lot and is limited for restaurants. You need a car too. Beware of the dreaded drive way. A very steep hill which requires a huge amount of engine power and good wishes to ecelarate front standing stop to get up the hill out onto the main road! Overall: Lovely villa let down by the team that care for it on location and more notice of the potential wildlife due to its location would be helpful.5* to Our Maderia!

Der pefekt Platz für einen Traumurlaub

Wir waren 2 Wochen im Februar zu zweit in Grayci´s House. Es ist, geschmackvoll und modern eingerichtet. Alles ist sauber und neuwertig. Die Küche ist perfekt ausgestattet. Es hat an nichts gefehlt. Das Haus liegt ruhig in einer Sackgasse. Vom Wohnzimmer, Schlafzimmer und dem großen Außenbereich hat man einen phantastischen Blick über den Atlantik. Zum Strand von Calheta ist es nicht weit, obwohl im Frühjahr der beheizte Pool beinahe verlockender ist als das Meer. Für uns der perfekte Platz um einen erholsamen Urlaub zu verbringen. Ein Supermarkt und einige Lokale sind ganz in der Nähe, ein Mietwagen ist trotzdem empfehlenswert um die Wandergebiete und die guten Lokale (z.B. Restaurante Chico in Prazeres, Restaurante Convento Das Vinhas in Calheta, Restaurante Ta Mar in Jardim do Mar) in der näheren Umgebung bequem zu erreichen. Hilfreich wäre es wenn die sehr freundliche Vermieterin außer portugiesisch auch etwas Englisch sprechen würde.

Wonderful stay in Graycie s House

Perfect house for our family (2 small children) in beautiful part of Madeira. The place is very special, surrounded by banana trees and 30 metres ahead is a cliff. Only backside is covered by other neigbours houses. We had a great time, more then we ever expected. Pool, view just from a bed and many other things make this place unique. I strongly recommend this property and hope to come back soon.
