Welcome to Le Moulin de Chazotte, a 16th century French watermill offering beautiful, family friendly self-catering holiday accommodation near Cognac, France.

Our four exclusive gîtes are brimming with charm and character whilst offering all the modern comforts and facilities to ensure you have a relaxing and rewarding holiday. All gîtes have their own private terrace and also offer access to 12 acres of grounds and facilities, including the large heated swimming pool.

Located in blissful rural tranquillity within the Poitou-Charente region on the French Atlantic coast, we are only 10 minutes away from historic Cognac and a short drive to the nearest village with that all important local boulangerie. This picturesque region is steeped in Roman and Medieval history and is known for its sleepy villages, Romanesque churches, heritage towns, as well as for the famous and delicious Cognac drink of course.

La Maison Principale is the main house of the original mill. It is the largest of the four gites, accommodating up to seven people.

The original house was built in the 1750s and has been totally renovated to incorporate the latest technology whilst retaining the traditional Charentais architecture. The staircase, for example, was custom-made by local craftsmen with a beautiful curved design which has been the authentic Charentais-style for centuries.

La Principale is great for larger families with an extensive kitchen and dining area, large comfortable sitting room and three beautiful bedrooms.
