Clean, cool, house well located near boat ramps for fishing! Fully stocked kitchen came in handy for cooking dinner. Penny is a very accommodating host. Had a great couple days with my family fishing.
Visited Atlantic for a family reunion. Cottage was as advertised and accommodated our family of 4 well. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was well stocked. As other reviewers mentioned, guests should definitely bring bottled water for drinking, cooking, etc. given the metallic taste of the tap water.
This is the 3rd time we've stay at this house. Nice litte older home with all the amenities we need, close to the boat ramp. Always enjoy the stay, and Penny is always super nice and very helpful! Thanks for our stay, we enjoyed it!

It was a pleasure to host you and your boys. We hope to see you again. The house is near several private and public boat ramps, and just a 3 mile boat ride to the Ophelia Inlet. Great location for day trips to Ocracoke, Harkers Island, Beaufort, Atlantic Beach...
As in the title just fantastic, loved everything about it. We will be staying here again and highly recommend it to anyone who wants a quite get away.

The home was as described, in a remote old fishing town and very quiet. It was nice for an older home and very clean. If you are looking for a peaceful place away from the crouds, this is that place. It's about 45 to 50 minutes to Morehead City and Atlantic Beach.
My family and I returned to stay at this house as we were in town for the annual fishing tournament. It was clean and cool and situated fairly close to the public boat ramp we used. Property owner remained is close contact and when an issue arose with the house she took immediate action to resolve the problem. Another great trip down east!

Peaceful
Penny was very nice. The house is A little dated. There was other peoples used soaps and stuff in the bathroom and shower. Other than that, everything went great. It is a very nice quiet areavery nice quiet neighborhood
Overall was well worth the cost and enjoyed our stay. Had a minor hiccup with the check in, but Penny resolved it in literally less than 10 minutes from our call to her (at a late hour no less). A must go to is taking the ferry (about 15 minute drive) to Ocracoke Island for the day. Since it is in a quiet location, there wasn't a lot of choices to eat out (sit down location) nearby but Penny let us know upfront about that. There is a little Take Out cafe about a 2 minute walk from the house which had good food at a very reasonable price for a quick lunch or snack. Only issue we had was the tap water so should plan to bring your own.
Great communication. Remote location. Recommend coming with a boat to get to see more of the islands. Beach is close and has hermit crabs, barnacles, oysters
I was fishing in the Sarah James Fulcher Red Drum tournament with three family members and looking for a local place to stay. Lucky for me the Core Sound Cottage was available! The house was clean, cool and comfortable, especially after a long day of fishing. There was plenty of room for all four of us and the bedrooms/bathroom were stocked with linens, towels, toiletries, etc. It's only 15 minutes from the Cedar Island Boat Ramp and there was room to leave our boat trailer at the house. There were even a few outdoor hoses available to spray off our gear. It was a great house in an ideal location and I would definitely stay there again!
Atlantic is probably a place forgotten but certainly worth to remember. Great place to switch off and rewind. Nothing flashy but who needs that if you can go there with your family and just relax. People are friendly. Great little takeaway place walking distance from the house with the friendliest people. House is simply but have everything you need. Clean!!

So glad you enjoyed your stay. We love our little town. Hope you were able to get over to the banks, if not, you will have to come back and experience that. By far the best beach ever! Thank you for being a good renter.
