The best asset of this place is the position and the great view. Clean and tidy on arrival. However, we arrived on a very rainy and foggy day, after a long drive and, though no one can be blamed for the weather, we had hoped to stay put until and the rain would subside. There was little else we could do. In all our previous experiences with bookabach or similar, we would be sure to find at least enough fresh milk to make a cup of tea/coffee and perhaps a biscuit or two. One reviewer had even found enough for a little breakfast (probably left by previous guests), but we found nothing apart from tea bags and a little coffee. We knew we'd have to go find somewhere for dinner later, so we thought we'd catch up with emails, reading the paper or watch some television.....oh no! NO INTERNET, TV not working! Phoned the manager who confirmed that there is no Internet and said the owner lives in Canada. If he replied to her query, it was never relayed to us. On walking up and down the steps we had to avoid a fallen plant. We also saw that it was expected of us to wash the bed clothes and towels and put out on the line or the tumble drier before leaving. Reluctantly we stripped the bed to find old yellowing pillows, we put the sheets in to wash, but, with the warning we shouldn't overload the machine, we felt we couldn't put the towels in. It would have meant waiting more than 2 hours; we couldn't so just left the 1st load on and left. We will not be reccomending this place to friends.
The Stayz was on a hill overlooking the the bay giving spectacular views across the day as the light changed. It was an easy drive down to Whitianga and its sights and then over to Coromandel. Lovely if sometimes challenging drives all around. We also did a boat tour and swam off the boat, sampled the great food in the town and surrounds. The house is comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. It was good to be able to keep up with laundry and the inclusion of an air fryer is useful. I’d recommend this property to others as a perfect base for exploring the Coromandel by road or by boat.
Great place to stay. Great location & quiet. The water pressure for the shower was low, other than that it was a great place to stay & we would book again. Plenty of room to park the boat.
Our family had a wonderful and relaxing stay! The peaceful atmosphere and the amazing views overlooking Whitianga were the highlights of our trip. The house itself was clean, tidy, and had everything we needed. We loved it!
Gorgeous location even in not so nice weather. The place was an excellent choice with great facilities and a nice sized yard for your animals if they are on vacation too. The host was easy to contact and even left a book with information and some things to do etc. Definitely recommend it.
I loved waking in the morning to the glorious view of the bay and the beach. We are pleased we chose this location,it is up high and not directly on the beach but close enough if you wish to swim. We travelled in winter and the house was surprisingly warm. Very little need for the two heaters.
Had a lovely time. The accommodation was perfect. Everything and more to keep us entertained and active. Played Scrabble which was a nice find. Would stay again.
This place meet all our needs! It was spotless, the beds comfortable as was the lounge furniture! The view was mesmerising- we spent quite a while enjoying it!
And it was so quiet!
An awesome place to stay and suited our needs. Well presented and comfortable beds. Having the laundry was super helpful. The view from the deck is outstanding and an ideal spot to sit, eat and have a quiet drink. Do not want to give to much great feedback as everyone will want to come and stay. We will definately like to come back.
