The Snow House - Warm quiet space for 2-3 families

Lovely warm spacious 4 bedroom home (floor, roof and wall insulation, wood fire, heat transfer to bedrooms and heater in each bedroom). Wonderful mountain views plus large deck.
Good quality clean bedding, heater and heated towel rail in each bedroom.
Spacious house on 1/4 acre with quiet rural outlook, but walking distance to town or the junction (2 minutes by car).
Over the road from Ruapehu College sports fields (rugby, tennis, basketball/netball courts).
Comfortable lounge with Freeview TV and DVD.
Full kitchen including microwave, dishwasher and large fridge freezer. fully equipped with more than enough crockery and cooking utensils. new this year slow cooker, so you can have a meal ready to return too!
Continuous gas hot water for unlimited hot showers after a day skiing, boarding or tramping.
Toilet is in separate room to bathroom.
Laundry and large drying room with tub, large 7.5kg washing machine, dehumidifier and heater.
Wood for heating provided.
Ample parking for up to 6 cars close to the house.
Special conditions:
Two night minimum stay.
DEPOSIT: One nights rental required to confirm booking with balance due two weeks before occupancy. BOND: $400 required as bond to be returned as soon as possible after departure. CLEANING: Cleaning fee of $100 applies.

Extras: Cleaning (Required, NZ$100.00 per stay); Refundable Bond (Required, NZ$400.00 per stay); NOTE: Linen Can be arranged.

Love the snow house

We had a great stay at the snow house. It had everything we needed as an extended family group and was very family friendly especially for younger children. We loved the big fireplace which quickly heated the house. The laundry / drying room was great for drying all our snow gear overnight after a day up the mountain. We were very happy that they have decided to provide linen as it made everything much easier for us. We had excellent communication from the hosts. Over all highly recommend.

Well setup for Family gathering

My mother, siblings, daughter, nieces and nephews all fit so well in this house. A great drying room kept our gear ready for the next day. Close enough to the shops to pop out for milk and close the the carrot playground which is great for the little ones on warm days.

Okay, but ...

The quality of some chattels was poor eg the oven didn't work meaning we had to change our dining plans, the single beds in one room were so uncomfortable I slept on the couch the second night, the ripple control was also an unexpected and unpleasant surprise. The overall interior was quite shabby - we all felt the charge was excessive for what we got. However, there was plenty of crockery, cutlery and glassware and the hot water supply was good. (I inadvertently broke the coffee plunger but replaced it with the same model) As I indicated in the star section all communications were fine and the location was great I guess it was adequate but this was a special weekend for our family and the quality of the interior was disappointing - I felt as if I was staying in a tourist cabin at a motor camp. Some fresh paint would make a huge difference
