Island Time Villas - Villa 1, Marino

Island Time Villas offers one of the best holiday accommodation alternatives. There are no confined spaces here, just lots of freedom, perfect for that "get away from it all" holiday.

Comprising two separate 3-bedroom villas, each villa can be rented individually or together to accommodate up to 12 people - ideal for extended or 2-family holidays.

Located at the southern end of Muri Lagoon, great snorkelling and swimming is only a short stroll away. The beach is less than 100 metres away with access via a walkway directly opposite the villas.

There are great outdoor areas on the large property including a plunge pool, gazebo and lovely gardens with an array of tropical palms and flowers.

Being family friendly we have portacots and highchairs available for use during your stay should you require them.

Villa 1 “Marino”, the original villa on the property, is at the front of the large section, boasting a wonderful private front garden, complete with a large, shady flamboyant tree (“flame tree”) – a perfect location for afternoon shade.

Decorated in lush greens and cool tropical blues and with a large open-plan lounge/dining area, Villa 1 offers plenty of space for everyone. Flowing seamlessly out to a super sized covered entertaining area, outdoor entertaining and relaxation is assured.

The upgrades to Villa Marino are awesome. Having 2 bathrooms was brilliant and the open kitchen was wonderful. As with past stays, we absolutely loved our time here and consider it our home away from home. Having the Mai'i Hub right next door was fantastic. We'll be back!

Tropical garden paradise!

A great week in a beautiful tropical island paradise! The house had everything we needed in kitchen, great beds with nice linens, a beautiful outdoor setting, private pool and playground. Easy location for walking beach, cafes, museum, gardens, night market etc. The listing mentions toys and games but we could not locate them - would’ve been good on a couple of windy days as we did not pack our own. Highly recommend nonetheless. Thank you!

Great for families

We had a fantastic family stay here! With two young children (under 5) in one house and parents and older siblings in another, we had plenty of space. The pool was great, and the short walk to the beach was perfect. We also enjoyed having kayaks available. Dining outside was a highlight, and we appreciated the small touches that made our holiday comfortable, like bedroom drawers, a water cooler, a fully equipped kitchen, a large fridge, and umbrellas. Everything was spotless inside and out, and the kids loved the swings and banana trees. The hosts were quick to respond to any needs. We would definitely stay here again when we return.

Island life it doesn't get any better.

Jaret and Amber were awesome to deal with from the time of booking to our arrival. We had to cancel our original trip in September 2021 due to COVID-19 and the Cook island being in shut .It was so easy to amnend the booking and we finally arrived in January 2022. Island time villa's are two three bedded villas set in an acre of land. Each villa has access to a shared swimming pool ( which is in-between both villas) We stopped in Villa Marino ,what a beautiful property .It's a fully equipped 3 bedroom villa, kitchen,laundry room, bathroom and lounge area and has a fantastic , outdoor entertainment area. Jaret and Amber were exceptional hosts Absolutely nothing was any trouble. We arrived as a start of a major storms Jaret and his father-in-law Bill came down as the bad weather hit the island to make sure we were alright Exceptional customer service from the whole family .Would definitely recommend staying here. They are across the road from the beach,you have direct access through a family members garden to beach. Jaret also has his own car rental business which we hired a car from before we arrived . Wonderful for a Family!

Location was amazing with The Love Cafe & Villi's Eatery right next door. Perfect for a family! Gave us a late check out for no extra fee too! I washed the sheets and any towels we used and hung them out on the line in order to leave a fab impression as will definitely want to return!

Two families holiday together

Great location with everything on your doorstep. Wonderful for two families sharing a holiday with the two houses on the property - we made good use of the pool. Solar hot water not great when you have three days of rain - we had one morning of cold showers but got the hang of the booster switch after that and it was not a problem.

HomeAway from home

This was a great spot, within easy walking distance (under 10 minutes) to all Muri has to offer. We were just Two couples so didn’t really utilise all that was on offer, would be marvellous for a family or using both homes on the property for a larger family holiday and still enjoying privacy. The pool a real bonus when having time away from beach activities and catching up with a good book & complete R&R. We very much appreciated the starter pack of essentials, tea ,coffee etc milk & bread, especially arriving in the middle of the night, so Thankyou so much for that. Although we didn’t cook we saw the pantry again was stocked with some helpful ingredients. The interior space and bedding was ample and very comfortable. The windows were ajar and locked in place when we arrived and we didn’t need to alter these the whole time we were there, actually not sure where the keys for doing that would have been found. Janice did alert us that there could be some masks and snorkels in differing states of reliability that could be used, however we had brought our own, which we recommend others to do as the snorkelling around parts of the island is great, we especially enjoyed snorkelling out in front of the Rarotongan Resort and swimming along with the turtles with the “Turtleman” ( he can be found at a stall at the Muri night market) We did leave a note for Loy to checkout the green Kayak as while one of our party was out on it ,it took in a lot of water and started to sink, back on shore discovered it had a split in the plastic which wasn’t obvious without serious inspection. We would hate for any mishap in the future for any non swimmer child or adult as is such a lovely way to see the lagoon and again appreciated being able to use these. 😳👍😊. All in all a relaxing holiday and can certainly recommend Marino Villa no1. Offering a very comfortable alternative from Resort/Hotel stays. Many thanks Brenda ,Dale Rob & Karen Nelson NZ

Fantastic holiday

Our family had fantastic 8 nights at island time villas. We were lucky to strike a week of beautiful weather. We found the property very tidy and the description accurate. Our 3 kids (4,7&10)had plenty of room to play both in and outside, as well as the pool. Easy access just across the road to a nice sandy beach for swimming/snorkeling. When heading into muri itself we just walked along the beach -stunning. Would have no problem recommending this property

We enjoyed our stay very much. Apartments are great, but thought both apartments would be the same. No 2 is more modern with electric oven which was great. Outside area was better. Ants in No 1 were a bit fustrating. Kids loved the pool. Location was excellent. Thanks very much

Amazing property!

We loved our holidays so much! The cottage was really clean and comfortable! It has everything you need- 3 bedrooms and a huge living and dining area, the terrace was amazing especially in sunny days. Kids loved the pool so much! It was really handy to have it on the property! The garden is enormous with mango and banana trees and beautiful blooming trees. The fruits and milk and bread on arrival was a great surprise! We rented a car and usually drove to Aroa beach, one of the most beautiful on the island. Even though our local beach was very picturesque too! Janice was very helpful and our holidays were perfect! Highly recommend the property!

Loved the garden this house is situated in, the pool and the large under cover outside area. This was really great when wet, and when the sun was just too hot. Favourite spot was in the hammock! Located really well for access to beach, southern Muri and some good resort restaurants. Everything clean, everything you might need and well cared for. Loved our peaceful stay at ITV Marino

This property is a fantastic place. Perfect for us with two young children. Location is great. Not far from centre of Muri and just across the road from the beach. The house is brilliantly equipped with everything you could possibly need esp kitchen. Including plastic plates etc for children. No real need to bring anything for them.

Good location in beautiful Muri. Handy to shops etc. we hired a car too which meant we could explore the island and visit other friends who were staying near.. The villa was extremely well equipped and had everything we needed for a family of four. We BBQ’d quite a bit which was great, cooked breakfasts and generally just chilled out. A wonderful stay. Why they chose this property

Island Time is a family-owned property - a great place to stay with plenty of room to spread out. The villas are well positioned on the large section with extensive plantings offering great privacy between the two. Each villa has a small selection of dvds, cds, games and books available for use plus WIFI access. We also have a plunge pool on the property for that quick morning or afternoon cool-down plus kayaks for paddling on Muri Lagoon. There are 3 single kayaks for shared use between the two villas. We are approximately 75m from the beach with access via a pathway across the road opposite the villas.

What makes this property unique

Fantastic location at the southern end of Muri and within walking distance to some great restaurants and activities. Close enough to all the action yet far enough away to escape the hustle and bustle of Muri village - here you really can relax and experience "island time".
