The open plan living is sparse and spreads from one side of the home to the other so you can take full advantage of its space inside and out. Both sides of the home offer either the covered deck with view from lounge/living area or you may choose to grab a book and retreat into the fruit laden patio garden off the dining/kitchen area . This Russell home is perfectly situated central to the township in one direction and the ferry across to Opua and Paihia for just a little bit more in the other. Escape the grind. Team up with extended family or friends and take advantage of the room in this hillside beauty . Quaint little town of Russell is bursting with history and an array of restaurants/bars and cafes.Throw in the local Four Square to top up the treats or swing by a shop or two, the weekend market or maybe even a cruise on one of the charters or ferry for a slice of water fun, the township of Russell can cater to it all. We had a really lovely stay here . The place was clean, comfortable, and in a great location, and everything was as described. Communication with the host was easy and they were very accommodating, which we really appreciated.Upon arrival, the living area lights weren’t working, but the caretakers came quickly and sorted it out for us, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, there was an accident during our stay where part of the bed broke when it was sat on. We’ve taken full responsibility and have communicated this with the host, as it was not intentional.Aside from that, we genuinely enjoyed our time here and would still recommend this property to others looking for a comfortable and well-located place to stay.

Great location but disappointing overall

The location and size of house was fantastic. Had an incredible view and 5 decent sized bedrooms and large bathrooms. Unfortunately the stay was let down by condescending rules posted in every room of the house, broken air conditioning, limited ceramic crockery (all but 4 of the plates and glasses were poor quality plastic), a lack of cleaning equipment despite being told we must clean the properly before leaving, mouldy bathrooms and bedrooms, no filtered water and only access to tap water (we had 2 pregnant women that we made aware in our booking would be staying with us), plastic mattress protectors, and filthy rooms (there was blood on one of the walls). It was really difficult to justify the price that we paid to stay there with all of the above. The view and outside of the property was incredible but the inside of the house and unnecessary “rules” meant that we wouldn’t recommend staying there nor would stay there again.
