100 steps to the dunes 'Clunead'

Clunead has a fabulous location – close to beautiful Bream Bay. You can swim, surf or play on the beach or walk for miles along the beach in either direction. If fishing is your thing, bring your gear. If it’s wet, there are games to play, jigsaws to puzzle over and an array of books for young and old. Or watch a DVD – we have a collection for all ages.
This is an historic area with fascinating places to visit in close driving proximity – Waipu Cove and township at the far end of Bream Bay, Waipu caves, Marsden refinery.

Marsden Village is about 100 minutes from Auckland (CBD) and 20 minutes from Whangarei.
The village centre is 2 minutes away by car. It includes a supermarket, bakery, takeaways, pharmacy and an excellent cafe that makes great coffee.

The house is solid brick and tile with its own part in the interesting history of Marsden Village. The interior has recently been painted throughout and the floors polished. It is fresh, while retaining its original character.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher.
For coffee lovers, there is a Nespresso coffee machine. BYO Nespresso-compatible coffee pods.
The master and second bedrooms have electric blankets with wheatbags available in the third bedroom. All beds have mattress toppers and are very comfortable.
Please note that although the interior of the house has been recently redecorated and is comfortably furnished the exterior is still a work in progress. There is a large flat fenced back lawn suitable for playing on, but the fence may not be child-proof and the concrete paths are uneven.
There is no wi-fi, but internet is available at the local library In Marsden Village Monday to Saturday.

Other than during the Christmas season, you can opt to do your own cleaning to cut costs. Please indicate if you would like this when booking.

NOTE: We may impose a minimum number of nights' stay over long public holiday weekends or the Christmas holidays - but please make your enquiry anyway.

Special conditions:

Number of Guests: Although the house sleeps 7, due to limited facilities it is not suitable for large parties of adults. Maximum number of adults is 5; mixed adults and children is 7. There is an extra person charge for more than 4 adults. This does not apply to children. When entering the number of guests on the website, do not include children or you will be charged the extra person fee. However, please mention the total number of guests including children in your reservation request.
Pets: Pets are only allowed with prior approval, but not during the peak Christmas period due to the tight turn around times between guests and the high number of children staying. If permitted, pets must stay outside, but if you bring their own shelter and clean up after them, they may stay outside.
