Great stay! The property was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. The location was perfect, and communication with the host was easy and quick. Would happily stay here again!
The Eagles Nest was a great base for our 5 days in West Michigan. It's walkable to Downtown Grand Haven and a short drive to Muskegon, Grand Rapids, Saguatuck, South Haven and Holland.
This was the perfect place to stay and work near family during the Thanksgiving holiday! It's walkable to the waterfront and the neighborhood is nice and quiet. The hosts are super friendly and the yard was great for my dog (it's not fully fenced in though, so make sure to bring a leash!). Would absolutely stay here again.
Very clean apartment. Linens provided which is nice. We didn’t need a single thing more. Convenient walking distance to downtown sites, restaurants, shops, parks, fishing pier. Pet friendly with huge yard is hard to find without paying a deposit. Owner was very communicative to make sure we had no problems. Recommend highly for budget friendly option for vacation.
Stayed at the property for a few nights. The location is perfect if you want to be close to downtown and the channel but far enough removed that it's not loud or chaotic. The beach is further, but you can catch the trolley just a few minutes walk from the location to get there. The unit itself is cozy and comfortable with a lot of little extra amenities not pictured in the listing (games, kitchenware, etc)
Perfect for our needs, but good idea to be aware that the staircase steps leading up to this 2nd floor rental are very narrow and the bedroom doorway is short (watch your head).
Nonetheless, we loved it and will be back again.
Great walkable, versatile, and efficient space. I was here for Coast Guard festival with my son. The host was very attentive. My son accidentally locked us out and the host handled this very promptly.
We stayed here for a few days while visiting Grand Haven, South Haven, Sugatuak, and Holland Michigan. The house is in town and very convenient for travelers. We found the house to be clean and welcoming! We particularly loved that we could bring our pets :) We would definitely recommend this location to others!
The property is tiny and tidy! It felt like a treehouse. Definitely spacious enough for three people, but with a compact, tiny-house feel. Everything was perfectly clean and welcoming. Loved using the firepit in the back yard.
Affordable. Close enough to downtown and a short drive to the beach. The nearby restaurant might be the best in Grand Haven. The beds need to be replaced. My partner and I had the worst nights of sleep we can remember. The beds are extremely hard and very old. We had to utilize couch cushions and a cot pad from a closet to be able to fall asleep. We would only rebook if the beds were replaced. There are some quirks, like very short doorways that you have to duck under, etc. If those can be enlarged without affecting structural integrity, they should be.Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay at the Eagle's Nest. It was clean, convenient and affordable. If not for the beds, it's a better option than a local hotel.

Eagles Nest Evaluation.
Watch out for the Bedroom Door -5'4". Steep Stairs. Refrigerator is very tiny and out of reach. We also got "Doubled Booked". People were checking in "our occupied" unit at 11:30 PM The front lawn could be kept in belter condition. LEVEL the floors - too many different steps/levels through out the apartment.
It's all about location, location, location. The place worked well for me as a result of this. It's small (cozy) though and an item of note is the bedroom door opening being 5'4" tall. While I possibly missed this in the listing when booking,it was a bit of a challenge to not hit your head on the door frame. One must adapt and overcome to situations in life when they arise though. I simply placed the linen basket in the middle of the doorway as a reminder. Other than that, the place was great for me.I want to mention that having to use a key to lock the door did seem a bit odd, considering it has an electronic lock.It would be hard to beat the location though with this property! The host were also very nice and the neighborhood appeared to be very safe as well. It's also close to a small community park.
Double bed mattresses needs replacing, very uncomfortable. The windows need blinds or shades. The living room needs lamps on end tables besides couch. The opening to bedroom is 5 feet 4 inches. My husband is 6 feet and banged his head a few times. The TV in the bedroom did not work. The trash can was filled to the brim on Sunday, we checked in on Saturday. The dog downstairs tried to attack our 2 dogs when we tried to bring them to back yard. Our dogs were on leashes. We then had to walk our dogs to the park. We left 1 day early.

Hi Jacqueline,
Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated.
The mattresses were new a couple of years ago. Perhaps this is a preference thing.
The windows have blinds, so I'm not sure what this comment is referring to (they are clearly visible in the listing photos). Maybe we can add add shades as well.
As many others have mentioned, and as mentioned in the listing, there is one short doorway into the bedroom. This is an old house. There's not much we can do about the short doorway.
Sorry the bedroom TV didn't work. That's the first I've heard of that. Will fix or remove asap!
As I mentioned to you, the neighbors dog Chloe (husky) does escape their yard from time to time. From my experience living in this property for three years with multiple different dogs, she wasn't trying to 'attack', but say hi/play. I think you misinterpreted this.
Thanks again!
This property was perfect for us. Easy check-in, I was able to park on the street directly in front of the property. It was clean and had the amenities we needed. Close enough to walk to the downtown area for adults and older children. A park within walking distance for younger children. A nice backyard for kids and dogs to play and a good neighborhood with a bakery, coffee shop, and a couple restaurants within 1/4mi. or less. I would stay here again!
Even though it’s not right in town it’s a good location. Easy to get to town and beach walk, bike ride or drive. A plus is it’s a 3 minute walk to restaurants, coffee shop, and ice cream parlor.
Gabriel was very helpful during booking as well as when we were there :) Very clean, well located home. Neighborhood feels safe and quiet. Enjoyed a lovely Bonfire in the evening. Being tall the only challenge was the door jam going into the bedroom is very low.
We enjoyed our time here. The property was good for a couple or small family. Comfy beds and a great location. Lots to do within walking distance and even more within a short drive. Nice amenities and had everything we needed for a long weekend.
Some of the entryways are low and the bathroom is a tight fit but it was just fine for a short weekend! Just be careful if anyone is over 6ft!

Why they chose this property
At one point we called 'Ruby's Retreat' (the downstairs unit) home for several years. Once we moved away from the area, we had to share the location and allow others to experience this quiet corner of old town.
What makes this property unique
Most of Grand Haven can be quite busy in the summer months. This area is a perfect little corner of old town that keeps you away from the busy downtown area, but is still close enough to walk anywhere you'd like.
