The Coral Retreat: Ultimate family getaway in the heart of the Island

Water to the back, a first class golf course to the front, and a whole slew of activities for the entire family... this retreat offers something for everyone, and more!

Wake up each morning and take in 18 holes, or head to the back for fishing/kayaking with the kids. When you're ready to hit the beach or explore the town, the best attractions are mere minutes away.

The house is newly built, with 3000 sq ft of living space plus over 800 sq ft of balcony/deck around the house to take in the fresh air. Enjoy the view of the beautiful golf course in the front deck, or the million dollar view of Galveston and Sydnor Bayou to the back. Around the holidays, you can witness the night sky light up with spectacular fireworks from Moody Gardens and beyond!

The main floor has an open space concept from front to back, with a master bedroom/private bathroom and a second bedroom and shared bathroom. A crib and high chair are also available for infants and toddlers. The bottom floor has a large shaded concrete pad for picnics and getting some outdoor time.

The top floor has one bedroom/bathroom as well as a large open area. With two bunk beds, a trundle, and two sofa/full beds in the game room, this floor is the ultimate sleepover party for kids.

* we are required by the local government to collect hotel and occupancy tax for all reservations. This 15% will be paid to the State of Texas and the City of Galveston.

Another great stay

It was our 2nd summer trip staying at Coral Retreat. Its a great place to stay. Short drive to beaches, fishing pier, and Schlitterbahn.

Beautiful home with so much open space

We enjoyed the beautiful home on the Moody Golf Course. Views of the water and fully stocked kitchen.

Family Summer Vacation

The house is spacious and did not feel crowded for our party of 16. The out door space was gracious also. The third floor allowed for the kids to have their own area while the adults enjoyed the 2nd floor. I wish the dock was fixed so we could sit out on the water but everything else was fantastic. The toys and amenities offered really helped day time planning at the beach. I would definitely book again.

Great place to hang out with family.

Spacious, laid out well, close to many things. Plenty of room and having 3 full bathrooms was great. The only drawback for me was the stairs but that’s because my knees are so bad. Pretty much all of the rentals have stairs. Would definitely stay again.

A wonderful home to stay.

A lovely home, near all the action on Galveston Island. The fishing dock in the backyard was a big hit with the kids. Caught crokers and Blue crabs. The upstairs is a great retreat for the kids, a large bedroom that sleeps 5, bathroom. and a great room with a TV, Foosball table and 2 large couches. Would recommend

Graduation Celebration

One of the best VRBO homes that we've come across. Beautiful home. Well kept. Great space. The front and back porches are set up well and provide a great overview of the bay. Plenty of fenced in yard space allowed our kids to run around safely. I highly recommend this place.

Family get together

Great stay. Loved the location and the view. Be aware elevator only goes to main floor. The pier was not usable. Those were two minor things. The home was great. Everything was new, clean and wonderful. Would definitely stay again.

Easter Family Getaway

This was a beautiful property and the perfect destination for our family. The privacy of the neighborhood was beyond my expectations. Although the boat dock was broken due to recent severe weather we were still able to do water activities. The elevator was perfect for my elder parents which was a plus! We are definitely planning to stay at this location again! Short drive to Stewart Beach :-)

A much needed getaway for my family!

This was a peaceful, well needed getaway! We all enjoyed our stay. The location and amenities were on point. I sat on the pier until 3’oclock in the morning the first night and saw two falling stars for the first time ever in my life, what an awesome birthday gift for me!! The owners made the check in process very easy, I didn’t have to drive some where other than the location to get keys to the property and they made it very clear if there was anything needed that they were only a phone call away. The neighbors made us feel very welcome. I would choose this property over and over again!!!

Very Nice and Roomy

The house is very nice and the open floor plan gives a lot of room. Great area and well maintained. All my little grands enjoyed the big yard. We fished off the peer and caught Reds. Very clean inside and out. The host is amazing. A great property without breaking the bank. Would definitely stay here again.

Family getaway

Overall, we would recommend this home as a place to stay while vacationing in Galveston. Lovely home and neighborhood. Great location close to seawall and other attractions. We didn’t mind the outside cameras but just felt like we were being watched all over the home. Also, the previous renters had a 🐕 in the home, which you could smell on the entrance rug. In spite of this, we really LOVED this home!

Amazing Property

Unfortunately it stormed quite a bit during the first half of our stay, causing a power outage to the house shortly after arriving and knocking out the wifi. When power returned and the wifi wouldn't come back on I contacted Peter(the owner) and he was very kind and helped us to restore the wifi. The home was beautiful and the view amazing. Close to town where you can easily get to everything but far enough away that you don't feel trapped by the business of the city. Absolutely loved our stay.

Beautiful home in great neighborhood

We stayed with family to celebrate my sons graduation from Texas A&M Galveston. It was a beautiful home in a great neighborhood. The house was spacious and gave everyone enough room to spread out when needed. All items needed to feel at home were provided.

Weekend Getaway

The property was amazing. The views were fantastic. The neighborhood was so peaceful. You are in the heart of Galveston but still secluded. Golfers will love it directly across the street is Moody Gardens golf course. The kids love having thier own space on the top floor. Ample parking and areas all outside the house to gather together with friends with seating. The house will definitely not disappoint will be going back.

Remembrance/Celebration of Mother 77th Birthday

It was the perfect location, my Brother and I wanted to gather last year in remembrance of my Mom 10 yr passing, but due to COVID we were unable to. This year things lined up, all the family was able to meet on this weekend, to share stories, laugh, cousins play together, eat good food, fish at the back of the pier off the coral, relax and enjoy each other. The Coral Reef was amazing, clean and everything you want and need on site. Will highly recommend!!! Thanks
