Karen, our host, was incredibly kind. The place was spotless, roomy yet cozy, and the full kitchen made it easy to prepare meals. We loved the area and how quiet and peaceful it was.

Thanks for the kind words, Melissa. It was nice meeting you and I enjoyed having you as a guest. You left the place spotless which I never expect but always appreciate. Safe journeys to you.
Comfortable with beautiful mountain and desert views. Bird feeders and water feature were very active so great for bird watching. Full kitchen was well equipped. Interesting books and nicely painted and decorated.

Noreen, thank you for your kind review. I really enjoyed meeting you guys and hope you will return and teach me more about birding.
This cottage was a perfect fit for birders, away from the crowds and excellent open range area to catch the morning and dawn bird activity. The location is a short drive to the Chiricahuas. Our hostess was very accommodating, the rooms were well furnished and this provided a perfect base for our stay.
My husband and I needed a quiet weekend escape and this place fit the bill perfectly. Despite the chill outside, the house remained perfectly cozy. It's also a very reasonable drive from Portal and the Cave Creek area if that's your trip goal. Our host was great. It's the perfect place to get off the beaten path for a bit. We had no cellphone service, but the wifi worked great.

From the Owner: "Thank you so much for the nice review. You are the perfect guests."
We were looking for a place that put us close to Cave Creek for birding and a place that would allow for stargazing. This was perfect. In 20 minutes we could drive to the Cave Creek area for some incredible birding options. I was surprised to see over 25 species from the deck of this house in less than 3 hours of birding over three evenings as we sat on the deck in the shade and the sun behind us making for great photos! We also caught a meteor shower which was impressive. The home was very comfortable and had everything we needed to prepare our own meals. The host was very easy to reach as we planned our trip and checked in and out.
