Wonderful Rental

Fair View of the Bay was exactly as described - The views of the bay and canal from the lanai were amazing!! The home was small, but clean and no problems were encountered. We would definitely return once Estero Island has had more time to recover from Hurricane Ian as the devastation is still very present and most of the businesses on the island are not open yet.

Absolutely wonderful

We loved our stay there, and didn’t want to leave. The interior of the house was beautifully done, and actually more furnished than the pictures show. Everything worked well and it was extremely comfortable. So whatever post hurricane problems they had seem to have been taken care of. But we spent almost all of our time outside. The patio area around the pool had a good seating area where we could see the beautiful views and also keep an eye on the hour six year old daughter, who pretty much lived in the pool. All of our meals were at the outdoor dining table and the grill worked very well and got a lot of use! Our only critique was that the pool could’ve been set a little bit warmer but Heather, who is great, said it would be adjusted on the next maintenance visit. Overall, we highly recommend this beautiful little house. Great for a couple or a small family.

Most relaxing vacation to date!

While the area is still heavily under construction following hurricane Ian, there was still plenty to do! We rode jet skis, played putt putt, rode go karts, shopped and lounged on the beach. It felt like a private beach because there were so few tourists there! The owner provided us with a list of open restaurants, activities and stores which was very helpful. I know the reviews aren't the best but I disagree. We had a fantastic stay! The place was clean and had everything we needed. I personally did not see a single bug inside the house. Additionally, the netting around the pool was all in tact. I know that there were complaints about it not being repaired, but it was. I would also imagine it was difficult to find someone available to do the work with all the damaged properties in the area! We also left something behind and the office was quick to respond to us and allowed us to go back after check in. I was very pleased with everything at the house and recommend it for your stay. If you are second guessing it, don't!

Great location. We were patient given post hurricane.

Great location. Great functional home. We realize it was one of the first properties available after the hurricane hit. We could accept a few shortcomings. Yet, for the price of this unit, these are must fixes: 2 deadbolt keys were given and no knob key. We were locked out due to this issue. The overhead garage door and garage service door would not lock. This allowed us back into the facility after we were locked out. Yet, not the safest feeling knowing the home could be entered when away or overnight. The overhead door would not close again without two people guiding it on the track. If the lanai screen is not repaired, bring heavy duty bug spray. We are still nursing numerous bites weeks later. Cleaning was average upon arrival. Showers, ceiling fans, and switch plates needed addressing. Again, location was great. The house was functional and equipped well. The garage door, keys, and lanai screen situation must be addressed. Overall, we still had a nice stay. I would recommend for small groups and families. Thanks for having this property available for us when many other properties were still under repair.

Could be great

We understand that the area has been through a lot but upon arrival there were problems. The pool was full of algae. We were told that the area had received a lot of rain which was making mantaining the pool difficult, but find this hard to believe as the two pools next door were pristine. The pool was not clear till Tuesday. There was food and food stains on the floor and furniture in the home was rusty and stained. Not sure why a rental company called Luxury Vacation Rentals would put rusted and stained furniture in their homes. The lanai was missing two screens which allowed bugs and birds to enter the area over the course of the week. The property manager said they would be fixed, with the other problems, but it never happened. There was a gap between the kitchen floor and the interior garage door (which did not lock) that would allow any insects (found a roach in the garage our last night) to enter the home. The property manager did not leave directions for when garbage should be placed on the curb which contributed to a back log of garbage sitting on the property which will ultimately lead to bug/rodent problems. The location is amazing and the access to the bay is convenient. We loved the diverse wildlife we were able to see at the home (fish, manatees, dolphins, birds, etc.). Overall, this vacation could have been our best yet if more prepping for guests and attention to detail was done prior to our arrival.

Average stay-lacking comfort

We stayed here last week Oct 13-Oct 18th. At first glance place looked great. Pool was wonderful except it wasn't very warm even though says "heated". I did let them know and it seems the temp got adjusted. Also the area around the pool was filthy with bird poop, mouse poop and a dead crayfish. This should have been cleaned up before our arrival. Suggestion...add some potted plants around the pool looks very plain looking. Kitchen remodel looks great! Love the coffee bar except there was no condiments for it most VRBO's have this. No necessities like tin foil, olive oil, seasonings etc. Again most we've stayed in have bare essentials for cooking in a kitchen. Also, the fridge water or ice did not work. I still bought drinking water since I wasn't sure if it was filtered or not. Master Bedroom bed was horrible, not comfortable at all you can almost feel the springs in the mattress. Needless to say we did not get a lot of sleep here. If you are going to run a VRBO you should be investing in a nice mattress if you want your guests to return. Same goes with the couch pullout that should have a "Mattress Topper" on it again this you definitely could feel the springs and not easy to lay on. Also the tv and air wiring is strange..it splits. 2 bathrooms which were very nice both had towel sets but only 1 washcloth? Not much toilet paper either so you will have to buy your own. Lastly, it was an ok stay not really worth the $ we paid as opposed to other VRBO's we've stayed in.

Online listing was not accurate and renovation was not complete.

While Heather from the rental agency was so responsive and attentive to the issues that arose during the week we do have some major complaints that should have been addressed. Unfortunately, we feel that we were mislead and the house should not have been rented to us. Considering we booked the house months after Ian struck on 9/28, the listing read that, although the house had been renovated, it was located close to many amenities. Living 1400 miles north, we had no idea of the devastation that had occurred on Fort Meyers beach and that it was far from recovery. The lack of nearby restaurants, stores, etc. was tolerable as we had a car but it definitely should have been mentioned in the listing. There was literally nothing open for miles. What was worse than the lack of amenities were the other issues we encountered. We arrived to a dirty cold pool (the listing specifically stated heated pool) as the pool heater had been destroyed in the storm many months ago. Thanks to Heather and the pool guy, the issue was taken care of and we were able to swim but not until Friday. Which meant we could not use the pool 4 out of the 7 day rental. The pool cage screening had been destroyed and the bugs were so bad that we could not spend much time outside. My friend ended up with welts from so many bug bites. There was so much construction and demolition (the house a few doors down was demolished) going on that we were all coughing and could feel it in our lungs. I wore a mask for 2 days. It would have been one thing if all of these issues were addressed in the listing. Then if we still decided to rent, it would have been on us. We had no idea what we were in for. Considering the price we paid, we should have been forewarned. A decent owner would give a partial refund of payment.

Fabulous view and breezes!

Terrific rental. We spent hours in the screened pool area. Fabulous breezes, beautiful canal view. Pool gets sun and shade all day. Outside furniture is very nice and seems new. Had coffee outside every morning and dinner in the evening. Kitchen is very well stocked with pans and skillets. Great layout for cooking. We used gas grill many nights. Walked to the beach and appreciated the beach cart and chairs. Property manager was very responsive to calls and questions. Highly recommend.

Fairview of the bay

Great location on a dead end street. Quiet but close to everything you could need or want. Just a short walk to the beach. We would definitely stay here again! Perfect getaway for my wife and I.

Awesome location

We very much enjoyed our second stay at the Fairview with its beautiful view on the canal. You can watch dolphins and sea birds while having breakfast and relax at the pool. The house offers anything you need to feel comfortable and the beach is close by. We would definitely love to come back.

Perfect stay!

The house is nice, well equipped and well maintained. It was perfect for both of us. It is in a pleasant and quiet neighborhood. Especially the wonderfully warm pool we enjoyed for 3 weeks. It was the best pool we have ever had. James is an exceptionally good host, very personable, caring and helpful !. We felt very comfortable and like to come back.

Excellent vacation in a lovely house

This lovely house is just perfect... We had a wonderful time here! It sits right at the canal and it`s beautifully decorated. Very nice pool and a short walk to the beach. Relaxed vacation right from the start. We had a lovely stay and would definitely come back. Property Manager has to improve! We got no entry information and had to call them how to get into the house. Another question during our stay was never answered nor did we get a call back from them.

Outstanding Accommodations

If your looking for a place that has it all then look no further. We arrived to find a beautiful vacation home. The view was beautiful! We even saw a manatee one day when enjoying the pool. We traveled with two small children and the place was perfect for them. The beach was a short walk but everything you need for a great day at the beach was waiting for you, a wagon, cooler, umbrella, chairs and sand toys! Our family had the most amazing time and hope to come back next year!
