The Eagle's Rest is a lakefront cabin located on the north shore of the Lake Quinault inside the Olympic National Park. It offers 180 degree breathtaking view of the lake and the surrounding mountains. Among the many things to do around here, here are few popular options. Eagles rest felt like an authentic Olympic lake cabin getaway. Cozy, comfortable, with updated bathrooms and kitchen. I lived the great room with its multiple large windows to see the beautiful lakefront. If the weather cooperates, the large porch is a comfortable place to enjoy more lake views over coffee or drinks.

This is an old cabin and it brings with it the distinct aroma of mothballs and mold the moment you open the door. The accommodations were ok, but for what we paid we expected more. Could’ve used a more thorough cleaning and we saw plenty of evidence of mice. The exterior was more overgrown than is shown in the pictures, and the deck and patio furniture have definitely aged since the photos were taken. We ended up leaving earlier than planned.

This cabin has a great location and a beautiful deck overlooking Lake Quinault, but the maintenance and cleanliness issues made our stay far less enjoyable than it should have been. What Worked• Spacious deck with a fantastic lake view• Rustic cabin atmosphere• Washer/dryer available• Comfortable beds• Convenient location for exploring the areaHost responsive to questions. What Didn’t• Cleanliness was unacceptable. There was dog hair on the floors, and it appeared the cabin hadn’t been vacuumed or swept before our arrival (or at least under the dining areas).• Red squirrels were actively inside the walls and ceiling in multiple rooms. This wasn’t just a minor annoyance — it’s a clear safety and health concern that needs immediate attention. Bottom LineThe setting is great, but the cabin is not being properly maintained. Until the owners address the cleanliness and wildlife intrusion issues, I would be hesitant to stay here again.

Had a wonderful time escaping the hustle and bustle of the cities for a long weekend at Lake Quinault! The view of the mountains and lake was top rate, with easy access to the walking loop and other trails. If you bring a boat the launch is the very next driveway and very convenient (of course be sure to read the lake rules to prevent promotion of invasive species). There is a propane cooker onsite that wasn’t advertised and will be appreciated by anyone staying there.Renters should remember that this is a cottage not a luxury home, so expect clean for a cottage or cabin, not a luxury home. Tim the caretaker is easily available to answer calls or discuss issues, which were minor and normal wear and tear type things you might expect. For dogs, I would highly recommend this cottage due to your ability to block off the deck and keep then nearby with lots of wandering space. We’ve already referred this property to a friend!

Family trip to the lake

Overall the cabin was a really nice place for a weekend at the lake. It had pretty much everything you need to enjoy the lakefront: grill, canoe, large porch to enjoy the view.
