The location is amazing, so close to the harbour with all of the shops, restaurants and boat docks a short walk away.We really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend this place!

I had a very nice time at Sweet Retreat! Some recommendations/feedback: a different universal remote (I could not get the buttons to work when using the dvd player), provide or inform renters that they need to bring oven mitts (I could not find any) and consider adding the wifi password to the info sheet by the door (could only get the wifi password by using wifi/data to access the Expedia app). Overall, it was a very nice week!

I booked this property based largely on previous reviews. Having stayed there, I can now say that I don’t believe them to be real.Whilst the location of the property was great that was the only thing going for it.The smell of mildew on entering the property was over powering. The kitchen was well equipped but everything smelled very strongly of mold/mildew.On first look the place looked clean but it was not. Horizontal surfaces had had a cursory wipe but everywhere was in need of a deep clean.I found a cardboard box under the bathroom vanity that was thick with black mold. I messaged the host and they came to remove it but the whole carcass of the vanity was moldy too. See photos.The dining table had moldy food remnants in between the slats.The bottom of the stove was filthy.The refrigerator door was filthy.Ceiling fan blades were thick with dust.No window covering on the main level bedroom window.The shower cubicle door had no rubber seal causing water to flow onto the floor.See photos to see the extent of the mold etcWe only had 2 nights booked but it was 2 nights too many. Myself and elderly parents all had respiratory symptoms whilst there that resolved when we were at our next destination.VRBO were great in acknowledging my concerns and taking action.

This property has operated successfully as a vacation rental for over two years and has consistently received excellent feedback from many independent guests from all over the world. When you contacted us about the cardboard box under the vanity, we responded promptly and removed it. We take cleanliness and maintenance concerns seriously and have professional turnovers completed between every stay. The property is also regularly inspected and maintained. We do not agree that the home was in the condition characterized in this review. We also cannot comment on or determine the cause of the respiratory symptoms described. We respect that every guest is entitled to share their experience, but we strongly disagree with the implication that our previous guest reviews are not legitimate. Two years of consistently positive guest experiences provide a much broader representation of the property and the standard we work hard to maintain

Perfect stay in the heart of Tobermory!

We had a fantastic stay in this place. The location couldn’t be better - just steps away from harbour, restaurants, shops and ferry. The room was clean, comfortable and well maintained. Communication with the host was smooth and friendly, and check-in was easy. Highly recommended for a quiet and relaxing stay.

Great location, clean and roomy cottage perfect for family of 4. The place could use a few cheap upgrades that would really make it pop. Considering the price compared to others and pet friendly we were happy with our choice. Just don't expect luxury.

This is a great home base for your Tobermorey stay, all restaurants/coffee within a 10 minute walk. A spacious living area, clean and cozy vibe, there is a nice outdoor area with a fire pit. An upgrade to the bedding (plush pillows, comfier mattress) would really make this place pop, but current offerings align with expectations for a family cottage. The host was very responsive and helpful.

Great cozy place with 2 clean bedrooms. At night its so quiet and cozy at the fireplace, were they had already provided us with logs. There were games and puzzles at home too. Its a well organized cozy and clean place and great for small get together. Even have a swingset at the back for kids. So closeby to downtown and very close to bruce anchor docking deck, closer than the bruce anchor parking. And walkable distance to the main strip. Great location, cozy and clean place, great fireplace and there is barbeque grill too. The host was very responsive and sweet.

No air conditioning ,standing bathroom is not good, small rooms ,scary place .

Our stay was not good . House owner is answered our enquiries very late. Yesterday was very hot day ,noair conditioning . It was very hard for us to stay there in hot weather. Ceiling fans runing very slowly. Standing bathroom is very narrow and while bathing water out from standing shower on floor . According to facilties property overprice.

Ein sehr schönes Haus für eine Familie mit allem was dazu gehört. Wir haben die gute Lage in der Nähe des Hafens und aller Restaurants und Geschäfte sehr geschätzt. Auch den Grill und die Feuerstelle haben wir genutzt. Da wir aus Deutschland angereist sind, wurde uns freundlicherweise auch Bettwäsche bereitgestellt. Die Kommunikation mit Nolan war hervorragend.
