Our family had a great stay at Reds Retreat. Cathy was very accommodating and friendly. The suite looks just like the pictures, which has been totally refinished and quiet. We enjoyed the hot tub and our granddaughter loved the drawer filled with kids activities. The dog park, two houses away, was a hit with our dog. We'd like to return in the summer when the pool is open. We've stayed in many rental units in BC and this one ranks in the top, my husband says it is his favorite. Thank you to Cathy and your husband(sorry your name escapes me at the moment) for hosting us as your first guests. You won't have any problem renting your suite when word gets out about your beautiful home. Thanks again.

Thank you R'Nee for your kind words, it was a pleasure meeting you. Were glad to hear that your husband has found a favorite place and that we rank in the top, that means a lot to us. I also want to thank you for leaving our home clean that was so appreciated!
Were looking forward to your stay in the summer when you can cool off in the pool and inside with the a/c going when its too hot to be outside!
Carlos was a blast and I know that our Joey will enjoy seeing him again.
Again, we look forward to seeing you in the summer!

About the host
Hosted by Cathy
Hi there, we are Garry and Cathy, I was born in Holland and came to Canada when I was 4, that was many a year ago, I grew up in Edmonton Alberta and moved to BC in 1984, Garry is born and raised here in Vernon. I'm retired and enjoying myself but find myself being bored, Garry still works and has been with the same company for 49 years now, yup a lifer, maybe one day he will retire. We have a wonderful little rescue dog, a maltipoo by the name of Joey or Joe depending on the day. He loves everyone especially kids, a real love bug. I enjoy cooking and reading spending time with family and friends and our grandkids, Garry enjoys sports especially hockey, he enjoys outside flowers and we always seem to have way too many! They sure look pretty though. We really enjoy meeting new people and speaking with them about their interests and what they enjoy doing. I was in retail for many a year and then in office administration before I retired so I met a lot of interesting people over the course of the years
We look forward to meeting you, we keep to ourselves mostly but if you have any questions or inquires please do not hesitate to ask us
We hope you enjoy your stay
Why they chose this property
Our neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, we are up on a hill and have a beautiful view of the city and mountains, the evening view with the lights on in the city is stunning especially when your in the hot tub
What makes this property unique
Reds retreat is the main level of our home, ( OWNER OCCUPIED LOWER SUITE) besides being quiet and peaceful, having a pool (Seasonal) and the hot tub are great additions for our guests to enjoy. The pool has a 6ft privacy fence along the neighbour side and a 4ft railing along the back, the side gate on the neighbours side is always locked and the 6ft gate coming down the side of our house is always closed plus we live in the downstairs suite so we know when someone is coming. There are outside security cameras, 2 in the front one down the side, one in rear of the backyard and one up on the deck, the yard is fully fenced so no escapees! The upper deck has a hot tub under a gazebo with sliding roof a dinning area and relaxing comfy chairs to take in the view, the deck is fully railed with a gate.
We are 10 minutes from Kalamalka Lake and Okanagan Lake by car, 25 minutes to Silver Star Mountain Resort (there is a shuttle from Butcher Boys going to Silver Star) and 35 minutes to Kelowna. The Kelowna Airport is 25 minutes out.
There are quite a few wineries in the Okanagan for you to enjoy, Gray Monk in Lake Country about 20 minutes away, 50th Parallel Estate Winery also in Lake Country, Mission Hill Winery in West Kelowna
Vernon has its annual Show and Shine in June and the Sun Valley Cruise-in in July Canada Day celebrations at Polson Park and our annual Winter Carnival the beginning of February starting with the balloon glow up on Friday night, parade on Saturday and events starting after that for 10 days
Plenty to do here in the Okanagan, and after a full day of adventures come back to Reds and relax
