Polaris Taigh - Waterfront Cottage on the Madawaska River

Enjoy the solitude, character and charm of a timber frame chalet nestled on an acre of land. Its private, park-like setting along the banks of the Madawaska River provides the perfect retreat. Stunning views can be enjoyed from virtually every room of the house. Polaris Taigh is the perfect place to escape and unwind in any season! Enjoy the chalet as a couple or share the experience as a family.

This chalet is located in the heart of area activities, festivals and events. Its close proximity to Calabogie Peaks and the Calabogie Motorsports Park provides a great place to stay and relax after spending the day doing what you enjoy most. In addition, you'll find the area offers great bistros, restaurants, live music, beaches, hiking/ski trails, not to mention golf and downhill skiing. Take the canoe and kayaks (included with rental) out for a paddle along the Madawaska River then relax and enjoy your evening by the water with the warmth of a bonfire as you sink into the Muskoka chairs.

Polaris Taigh is a four season home, offering all the comforts one would expect, with the ambiance of a ski chalet. You'll love the cathedral ceiling with its post and beam construction. The open floor plan and large great room provides an ideal space to entertain family and friends! The screened-in porch and private deck off the main floor bedroom provide perfect locations to enjoy your morning coffee and the tranquility.

There are beds to sleep six (6). The main floor bedroom has two queen beds with direct access to the main floor bathroom. The spacious loft has a king-sized bed and an ensuite bathroom. The walk-out basement offers a bathroom and laundry facilities, while providing lower-level entry to/from the yard. There are four (4) air mattresses provided and they can be used in the large unfurnished bedroom located on the lower level. You are welcome to bring sleeping bags for the children and make use of the room and the air mattresses.

For your comfort, and our reassurance, the house has recently been updated with a new deck, floating dock, and updated kitchen. You'll also appreciate the central air, water cooler, washer & dryer, Weber propane BBQ, and beach towels, in addition to the paddling vests (PFDs).

Campfires to be contained in provided firepit and to be extinguished after use. In the event of a LEVEL 2 FIRE BAN, all outdoor burning is prohibited.
