Private balcony, queen bed, fully equipped kitchen, Smart TV, ultra-fast WiFi, air conditioning, and in-unit laundry. Please note the apartment has no sea views — but what it does have is a quiet, elevated position on one of Auckland`s most celebrated waterfront addresses, seconds from the city`s best dining and the Ferry Terminal.

Level 4 of Shed 20 on Princes Wharf sits above the immediate wharf promenade in a way that feels noticeably calmer than ground level — light, bright, and perched above the activity below rather than in the thick of it. This is an apartment is a solid Guest Favourite, not based on any single dramatic feature, but on consistently delivering what guests who love Auckland`s waterfront actually need: a well-finished, comfortable base with great restaurants a short walk away and the ferry to Waiheke Island even closer.

The open-plan living and dining area is modern and well-configured, with quality furnishings and abundant natural light creating a welcoming atmosphere throughout the day. A private balcony off the living area is a genuine plus — a comfortable spot for morning coffee or an evening drink, with the atmosphere of Princes Wharf below and the harbour air drifting up. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering: stovetop, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and all the cooking essentials needed for anything from a quick breakfast to a relaxed dinner in.

Princes Wharf has been part of Auckland`s story since 1929, when it was formally opened by Earl Jellicoe as a two-storey concrete wharf — at the time, an engineering first for the city. For decades it was Auckland`s window to the world: cargo ships from Britain, Asia, and South America, ocean liners bringing emigrants and returning servicemen, and during the Second World War, a working base for United States forces supporting the Pacific campaign. For generations of Aucklanders, this was the place you came to farewell someone leaving for the other side of the world — or to welcome them home.

In 1998, a major redevelopment designed by Leuschke Group Architects transformed the wharf while preserving its long concrete bones — six interconnected heritage shed buildings, including Shed 20, now house apartments, restaurants, and retail above what was once a working cargo dock. Today the wharf is one of the city`s most recognisable destinations, with the five-star Hilton Auckland anchoring the seaward end and free public viewing decks at the tip of the wharf offering some of the most serene harbour vantage points in the city, with sightlines stretching to Rangitoto Island and the Hauraki Gulf.

The entire apartment is yours — queen bedroom, bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, open-plan living and dining area, and the private balcony. Secure lift access to Level 4 is included. Access is via key safe — full instructions and codes will be sent the day before your arrival. To ensure a smooth arrival, we ask all guests to complete a short online pre-check-in form and upload a valid government-issued photo ID before arriving — this takes just a couple of minutes.

Check-in is from 3:00 PM. Keys are collected from a secure key safe — straightforward and available at any hour. Full instructions will be sent ahead of your arrival.

A private airport transfer can be arranged at additional cost with at least 48 hours notice.

While we will leave you in peace to enjoy your time in Auckland, we are available 24 hours a day for an emergency.

The Viaduct Harbour`s celebrated restaurant and bar strip is a five-minute walk, with Baduzzi, Hello Beasty, Giraffe, and a host of excellent bars and wine rooms. Commercial Bay`s flagship retail and dining complex and Britomart`s cobblestoned laneway precinct are both within easy reach. The New Zealand Maritime Museum sits right at the base of the wharf for anyone curious about the seafaring history that shaped this harbour, and the Auckland Ferry Terminal is close by with daily services to Waiheke Island, Devonport, and the Hauraki Gulf. Wynyard Quarter and North Wharf are an easy waterfront stroll for even more dining options, and the CBD`s Queen Street, Sky Tower, and Aotea Centre are within comfortable walking distance in the other direction.

Auckland is easily explored from Princes Wharf. The Auckland Ferry Terminal is a short walk with regular services to Waiheke Island, Devonport, and the Hauraki Gulf. Britomart Transport Centre connects the full train network. Uber and taxis are plentiful throughout the waterfront precinct. There is no car park with this apartment — paid public parking is available nearby in the Viaduct and CBD. Auckland Airport is approximately 30 to 40 minutes by car or shuttle.
