We absolutely love this mountain home! The host thinks of every comfort to make the stay extra special. The back porch, our favorite spot, is made for morning coffee, long talks or a great nap!

Very cozy cabin. It was a girls weekend. The cabin driveway is difficult for big cars and that was in the description but it was difficult for a bunch of ladies also. The cabin was clean. Beds nice. It is very old but has a lot a charm and character. We enjoyed our stay. It was close to black mountain and lake Susan. Thank you for sharing your place. A good time was had by all.

This is a classic mountain home filled with character and love! It has lots of space for family gatherings around the dinner tables and on the back porch! The furniture is very comfortable and the porch is filled with rocking chairs and 2 porch swings.The updated kitchen is filled with everything you might need. We plan to stay here again in the future.

Cool mountain house

The house was a classic mountain home with comfortable beds, a nice kitchen and an incredible back porch. Our family of 5 loved everything about it.

A perfect place to stay! This cottage is full of character and charm, yet offers every modern comfort you could wish for. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen and bathrooms are thoughtfully stocked with all the essentials, and the back porch might just be the best place to relax in all of Montreat. We absolutely love Idlewood and highly recommend it.

Wonderful cabin!

We had an amazing stay! The cabin is very authentic yet very comfortable for our large family. Margaret was so helpful and responsive. Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful mountain getaway

Idlewood was the perfect place to spend Fall Break with our family and friends. Montreat offers wonderful hikes and beautiful scenery. The house was cozy and perfect for two families!

Great Mountain Cottage

Loved our stay at Idlewood. The house was extremely clean and kitchen was as well equipped as we have seen at any rental. Location is great with easy access to trails and Montreat amenities, and a short drive to downtown Black Mountain. We enjoyed the area over New Years and are looking forward to trying it out for a summer stay.

Wonderful Montreat Home

We adored our time at this wonderful Montreat home. The screened back porch was a dream, and we enjoyed the beginning and end of each day there. The location allowed us to walk to Lake Susan and all our activities. We highly recommend this cozy montreat cabin!

Girls trip

We had a great stay and enjoyed the cabin. The only suggestion I have is to let people know that the front door locks automatically when you leave and close it.

Something we hardly think about since locks are rarely used in our sweet little town but I understand it can be a problem if it happens! Cozy stay

What a cozy spot to spend the weekend with family! From the doors to the porch swings to the fire place there is so much antique charm to appreciate and enjoy. It’s in a great location with walking distance to the creek and park. The hosts were very accessible and prompt to return answers to our questions. We loved our stay and hope to be back again!

Great girls weekend!

This was the most awesome house! Very unique and cozy. It was a family trip for 3 generations of women. We had the best time. Can’t wait to come back!

Great Fall Weekend

The house was comfortable and clean, with plenty of kitchen supplies and dishes. The driveway was very steep and wet leaves didn't help, but overall it was a wonderful weekend getaway place!

Thanks Deb for taking time to review your stay at Idlewood. We appreciate your positive comments about how well the house is stocked as we take pride in trying to anticipate the needs of our renters. While we do wish that we could change the slope of our "mountain driveway", we did recently have it graded and re-surfaced to make it a little easier to navigate in inclimate weather. We hope you will return again to see the improvements to the driveway and/or take advantage of the street side parking we provide for our guests who are not comfortable driving down the driveway. Thanks again for visiting our beautiful mountain town and staying at Idlewood.

Fun Family Getaway

This is a fantastic house. It is super cozy and comfortable. The porch is so relaxing and our family spends hours out there. This is our third year and the host always has everything we need when we arrive. Can’t wait to be there again.

Montreat Treat !!

We enjoyed the area and the home was absolutely charming. Very impressed with how well equipped the kitchen is for cooking. Communication with the owner was top notch. We had several questions prior to arrival and she was very helpful !!

Making Memories!

It was a great place for 3 generations to be together for the Memorial Day long weekend! The layout of the house including a great Montreat porch and a backyard fire pit for somemores went to making a lot of memories with grandchildren! As one of the 4year old olds exclaimed, “it was cozy!”

Fabulous find in Montreat!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Idlywood. Very charming property. Hiking Greybeard Trail is a must! Tennis in the mornings was fun too! Owner, Margaret, was fabulous with her communication and quick responses. What a great weekend getaway. Highly recommend.

Another great week!

Another fantastic week! Enjoyed the house once again and everyone had a great time. The Catawba Trail is back open and was an awesome hike. Like always we so enjoy the back porch. Such a cozy and comfortable house.

Idlewood

The house was exactly how it was described. We had 10 adults and 1 child. There was plenty of room for everyone and great outdoor areas to hangout. We would love to stay there again next year!

Enjoyable stay for ours girls weekend

We enjoyed the stay, there was plenty of room for all of us, and it was very charming. The kitchen was well supplied with everything you need. The outdoor fire made for a nice evening of roasting marshmallows and enjoying the yard. The driveway was very steep and a little difficult after rain.
