A whole four bedroom house in the middle of Ringwood, sleeping up to 10, with its own driveway so nobody is circling for a park.

Inside there are four bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, a full kitchen and an open living and dining area big enough for everyone to be in the same room. It suits families spreading out, groups travelling together, and anyone in town for work who wants more than a hotel room.

The location does the heavy lifting. Eastland Shopping Centre is a 9 minute walk for coffee, groceries and a cinema. Ringwood Lake Park is directly across the road, and the Maroondah Junior Ranger walks and the Railway Ride bike path start almost at the front door. Ringwood Station is a 10 minute walk for a straight run into the city, and Maroondah Hospital and Mt Dandenong Road are 3 minutes by car with the Dandenong Ranges just beyond.

Air mattresses can be provided for additional guests for a small extra fee, just ask before you book.

I studied at the University of Melbourne and know this city well, so do ask for recommendations. I am always happy to point guests towards the cafes, walks and neighbourhood spots I would send a friend to.

Ringwood is where Melbourne starts turning into the Dandenongs, and it is an underrated place to base yourself.

Ringwood Lake Park is directly across the road, the Railway Ride bike path starts three minutes walk away, and the Maroondah Junior Ranger walks are on the doorstep. Eastland Shopping Centre is a nine minute walk for groceries, a cinema and a decent feed, and Ringwood Station is about ten minutes on foot for a straight run into the city. Maroondah Hospital and Mt Dandenong Road are three minutes by car.

I spend time up in the Dandenong Ranges myself, and from here you are right at the bottom of them. The drive up towards Sassafras is a lovely way to spend a morning.

It sleeps ten across the four bedrooms and the living room, with one and a half bathrooms, a full kitchen with a dishwasher, a bathtub, a backyard and a laundry. Air mattresses can be provided for additional guests for a small extra fee.

Ringwood Lake Park is directly opposite and Eastland is a nine minute walk, so you can leave the car on the driveway for most of the day. It suits families, groups travelling together, and anyone out east for work who would rather have a whole house than a hotel room.
