Staycation

Our family had to stay in a VRBO for a month due to a house fire. The house is very beautiful and spacious in a very nice neighborhood. I would recommend this house to a big group as it has spacious rooms, and a lot of areas to gather. This home had everything that you would need from sewing kits, stocked with kitchen utensils, dog toys, etc. Something to keep in mind is that this property has a steep driveway, its like a three story home with lots of stairs, no inclosed fence for dogs. However there is a park just down the way and down town is a walk away. This is a very stunning home. The host was superb!

Great home and location in Monterey

Amazing home, walking distance to downtown. Very clean, well appointed, and a great layout for a good size group - 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths. A beautiful kitchen and living room with great outdoor space. Wifi was strong. I definitely recommend this home! Only thing to note - there is a steep driveway and stairs to enter the home, so make sure you are nimble enough :).

Lovely house in Monterey

We stayed for the month of July and in general found the house to be lovely and as advertised in the listing. House was very clean and spacious. Rooms were large and beds were comfortable. Kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed to cook well during our stay. It was such a nice touch to have towels and linens provided. Location was very convenient, though not much is really in walking distance. Plan to drive to the beach, Fisherman’s Wharf, Cannery Row, and varying other restaurants/attractions. Debora was super responsive and was kind enough to even point us to an honest mechanic when our car needed an oil change. We did not have any problems during our stay, and we’re grateful to have found such a nice place. Two quick things to note for people staying in the future. First, while the house is lovely, the backyard area is not. It is actively under construction with cinder blocks, piles of dirt and stone, construction cones, and exposed rebar. We received a message a few weeks before we arrived that the backyard was a “work in progress” and “not usable”. Explaining more honestly that it’s torn up and unsightly would have been appreciated, especially when the outdoor living areas and windows all overlook the backyard. The listing should be updated to reflect this. Secondly, the house is in close proximity to a cute little park, and the backyard area actually borders the park. This was a plus for us and we loved walking there each day. However there seemed to frequently be homeless and/or transient people sleeping in the park overnight, and while this isn’t necessarily a bad thing, we did have people walking through the backyard and onto the property in order to walk up the steps and cut through the driveway to the street on the other side. There is no fence and we were startled by strangers on a few occasions, and uncomfortable with that lack of security with our kids around. So just a word of caution. It didn’t detract from our stay, but did ensure we were vigilant in making certain all doors are locked.
