We stayed at the Villa Cava early in June. We were delighted with our choice. The house, the gardens and the pool were all lovely. It is a great place for a quiet, relaxing stay by the pool. To break up the routine, there are beaches, historical sites and nature trails not too far away.
The villa had a very nice homely feel to it. It was beautifully tiled, spacious and nicely decorated, with lots of natural light. The air-conditioning was quiet and efficient, and the wifi worked well. The bathrooms were nice, the beds were comfortable, and the sitting room and the dining area were very pleasant.
The pool was large and clean, with a decent sized shallow-end for the children to play. There were comfortable chairs for sitting outside plus several sun-loungers.
The location was very quiet and private. The plots of land next to and behind the villa have not been built on, so there were no immediate neighbours (and no worries about our children making too much noise in the pool!). There was no road noise at all.
The villa is built on a headland just a fews kms from the coast. Because of this, there was often a little breeze. This was very refreshing during the heat of the day, but it did mean that it was sometimes a little too chilly to eat breakfast or the evening meal outside on the patio. However, we stayed early in June, and this would probably not be an issue later in the season.
The garden was beautifully maintained, and was lovely to look out on, either whilst swimming or whilst relaxing next to the pool.
You definitely need a car to stay at the villa, as there are no shops or tavernas within walking distance. (There is a good supermarket at Pissouri).
Within driving distance of the villa things we enjoyed visiting included the Archeological site in Paphos; the Tombs of the Kings and the nice beach at Coral Bay. We did not like Ladys Mile Beach near Limassol very much.
We have no hesitation in giving the Villa Cava five stars and would recommend it highly to all our friends.
