BE SURE TO SEE THE VIDEOS AFTER THE LAST PHOTO!
There is so much to do at Casa Encantada that some guests choose to never leave. Fishing, kayaking, biking, swimming, sunbathing...do all of it or simply relax to music that can be heard via the speakers throughout the house. Choose the Boater's Package option for exclusive, unlimited daytime use of Slow Dancer, Casa Encantada's 22 ft pontoon boat. Slow Dancer is great for trips to local waterfront bars and restaurants, nearby beaches, islands, fishing spots and uninhabited coves. In the town of Palmetto, a virtually undiscovered "old Florida" historic town, the locals are warm and friendly. Casa Encantada is gated and fenced, with the exception of the waterfront, for your privacy. There is a totally fenced and tropically landscaped area near the herb garden just for your dogs, complete with a warm water shower...also with a waterfront view. The tropical lagoon pool has a beach entry, waterfall, baja ledge and swim up cocktail table with relaxing jets. You'll enjoy sunbathing on the spacious pool deck, relaxing in a hammock or sitting under the fan in the shade of your own private tiki hut. The tiki hut's bar is cleverly designed from an old ship's rudder.
Facing due West on secluded Hooker Bay, just 5 minutes by boat to Tampa Bay, the sunsets are unsurpassed and are a daily main event. The waterfront deck under the huge banyan tree is perfect for watching the sunset, dolphins and manatees. Every evening, thousands of birds fly by at the first hint of dusk, heading home to Emerson Point, a bird sanctuary just 2 miles north. Great blue herons, spoonbill rosettes, sea gulls, cormorants, night herons, skimmers, ospreys, egrets, pelicans often stop by for a snack of bait fish right on your beach, just feet away. Hookers Bay is known as the best fishing spot between the Manatee River and Tampa Bay. Snook, redfish, trout, flounder, mangrove snapper, even tarpon are plentiful. Your 'front yard' is a legally protected manatee feeding area. You can wade or kayak out and watch from as close as a few feet away. Or you can see them from shore as they come up for air. And don't forget to keep the tradition of ringing the bell at the last glimpse of the setting sun.
The home is large with an amazing cook's kitchen with two refrigerators, granite counter tops and three sinks. The family room, kitchen and wet bar are all in one open room with expansive views of the water, wildlife and sunsets. The dining room seats 12 overlooking Hooker Bay.. Open the doors for true waterfront dining. The adjacent living room has a working wood burning fireplace and water view. There are three large, comfortable bedrooms, all with water views and flat screen TV's. The first master is large with a king size bed and a view of Hooker Bay.. The bath has a walk in shower. All linens are top quality. It has a large dresser, dressing table and walk in closet. The second master also has a king bed, walk in closet and view of Hooker Bay and the lagoon pool. It shares a bath with a tub and shower with the third bedroom, which has over sized twin beds, large closet and a view of the lagoon pool. This entire end of the house can be closed off with a pocket door creating a private suite. This feature makes Casa Encantada the perfect home for 2 or 3 couples. There are no stairs - one story only.
Nearby Casa Encantada are numerous state parks, golf courses, beaches and fine dining.
This home is easy to reach with reasonably priced flights from just about anywhere to Sarasota or Tampa. As cliché as it sounds, this is truly paradise in your own private waterfront home! Discover the 'real' Florida!

About Julie Ellis/Captain Julie at 404 277 4487 or Captjulie100@gmail.com
I grew up on the panhandle of Florida where I learned to love salt water and the lifestyle if offers. After moving to Atlanta, where I lived for 30 years, we bought a house in Panama City where we spent a lot of time. In 2008 we moved to the central gulf coast to get back to the old Florida lifestyle. We found Palmetto and Bradenton like going back in time... Florida the way it was in the 60's.
Julie Ellis/Captain Julie at 404 277 4487 or Captjulie100@gmail.com purchased this House in 2008
Why Julie Ellis/Captain Julie at 404 277 4487 or Captjulie100@gmail.com chose Palmetto
We are pet friendly. We offer a 22ft option. boat. We are in a small, friendly town that is not on the tourist map. This home is unique. There are not many vacation spots you can visit that are on 200 feet of open water, facing west, and home to manatees, dolphin and every kind of seabird you can name. Unlike most rentals in the area, you have total privacy surrounded by lush tropical landscaping. No neighbors in your space, just solitude in a relaxing environment. No sharing the pool or beach. If you want to be around others, just jump in the car and arrive at Anna Maria in minutes. The house is spacious with many choices of where to spend your time and never feels crowded with your other guests. Sunsets are a must!
What makes this House unique

Our Own Private Paradise! Those are the words that come to mind when describing Casa Encantada!
My husband and I, along with our dog Birdie, stayed at the Casa from April 28th thru May 4th, 2018. Upon arriving, we saw that the property was everything that we thought it would be and more! Absolutely stunning! The Casa had every amenity that anyone could ask for. Every morning we had breakfast on the patio, took Birdie for a walk around the neighborhood, then played lazy by the pool all day. One of our favorite times of day was when we got in the kayaks and paddled out into the river to enjoy all the birds, fish, occasional manatee and dolphins, and just the sheer calm and tranquility of it all! First time in a kayak for Birdie and she love it! You would think that we were the only people on the planet. But the highlight of our vacation at the Casa came just before sunset, when the tide was out and we would walk along the riverbed, Birdie in tow, watching all the little crabs scamper through the sand. We would splash through the water and wait for the most beautiful sunsets we have ever seen! And of course, Captain Julie, we would ring the bell!! Never before have we felt more relaxed and away from it all than at the Casa!
Captain Julie and Pamela were most hospitable and welcoming, and after a lovely dinner with the two of them we felt like we had known them forever! We are looking forward to our next visit to the Casa when we can spend some more time with them.
To sum it up, all I can say is that if you are looking for a quite tranquil get-away-from-it-all place to vacation, this is it!! If you want to be more active-swim, kayak, fish, boat, see the sights- this is the place!! It has it all! We have traveled throughout the Caribbean, stayed at luxurious resorts, but staying at the Casa Encantada was by far the most favorite vacation we have ever had!
Until we see you again Captain Julie and Pamela, we remain your friends from East Tennessee!!

Great Family Vacation
We had a great time during our recent family vacation here. Julie and her team are very attentive and accessible, which really helped make our stay enjoyable. The location is ideal, with several different beaches and destinations all within a short drive. The house is also set up with lots of areas to keep kids and adults entertained. The pool is absolutely amazing and the sunsets on the deck are stunning. We were very comfortable with our 3 year old and seven month old and highly recommend.
Amazing family vacation
Casa offered everything we were looking for from a place for dogs, kids, and adults to relax and spend time together. Captain Julie's attention to detail puts this property over the top.
Private Tropical Oasis
My Husband and I have just spent the Month of March at Casa Encantada.
Driving down the street as we approach Casa, we automatically feel like we are entering our very own Private Tropical Oasis.
Coming from Canada, to leave our dreaded long winter behind us, what more could we ask for.
Thirty days at Casa and to the last day, there was always something that caught our eye. The Sunsets were something we hated to miss. Every night someone had the pleasure of ringing the sunset bell.
Our Dog was in Heaven. Chasing the Geckos was a major part of his day. We had no issues with him being able to wander away. The yard is fenced in beautifully with trees and fencing, we did have a line with us just in case the tide went out and he would want to venture out in the water. although, 99% of the time there were no worries.
In the evenings we had so much fun playing games on the huge dining table or making up our own games with the Pool table since non of us were Pool Sharks.
The Neighbourhood is very quiet and lush, enjoying our walks and bike rides. The Kayaks are a must. The water so calm to just go out and relax just before sunset or just waking up to take it all in.
We had a few days where the temperature was a little chilly, but the pool area is nestled in its own little Oasis where the sun shined and there was no wind. The pool is very inviting and the photos are just proof of how it really is.
Not sure if it was the time of year we were there or not, but there were no Bugs of any kind to be found. No mosquitos, which was fantastic.
Our times spent on the pontoon boat were fun. Going for Lunch by boat and even having the pleasure of being served on Board was quite a treat.
Captain Julie and Pamela are there for you whenever you need them. No matter your needs or wants, they were there to make your stay a comfortable and enjoyable time.
We are most looking forward to our next stay at Casa.
Thank you, Captain Julie and Pamela and the Yard Men and Pool Boy for making our stay one that we can't wait to come back and Enjoy.

Paradise in Palmetto
There are more than 50 very positive reviews of Casa Encantada. They do not exaggerate. The “Casa” is a very special place, from the “Welcome to Paradise” sign by the front door to the picture post-card sunsets just out the back door. Our little dog was also very happy being outdoors, kayaking, and basking in nature—a far cry from the snow and ice of Boston. The morning walk in the neighborhood also provided much variety.
Rather than repeat all the highlights which are beautifully and accurately described in the other reviews, we will focus on just a few things not mentioned, or not adequately emphasized.
The end-of-street location, away from the bustle coupled with the natural beauty and the landscaping, created in us a sense of privacy and tranquility. We have never been so relaxed. Friends who would visit were similarly enchanted and, like us, felt no need to head off to a local restaurant or activity. We just enjoyed passing time at one the several on-site venues to talk, marvel at the lush vegetation, and watch the birds, the fish jumping out of the water, and the setting sun.
The Emerson Preserve, just 10 minutes away, is worth a visit to walk along the beach at the end of the road or one of the several trails along the way.
In addition to the excellent meat market recommended by Capt. Julie, a nearby fish market (Sea Grape) had a very good selection of fresh fish, to eat in or take out. We particularly enjoyed the skewered shrimp and the ahi tuna salad.
Captain Julie and Pamela were delightful and incredibly responsive to our requests. When we complained about a little chip in the cue ball, FedEx arrived two days later with a new cue ball. All our various questions were promptly answered. All in all, a perfect time in a magical oasis. We were so sorry to see our 4 week stay come to an end. Thank you Captain Julie and Pam!
We are so glad you loved your visit and even more glad that you will be back next year! Cannnot wait to enjoy another drink on the patio at Pier 22 with you and your sweet boy! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feelings about Casa Encantada!
Capt. Julie and Pamela
We stayed at Captain Julie’s place for 5 nights and had a wonderful time. The tropical decor is very nice and the home has plenty of features for relaxing as well as entertaining. We particularly enjoyed the heated pool, the beautiful waterfront views from around the property, as well as grilling fresh fish and steaks and enjoying them on the patio or the enclosed dining/lounging area. Captain Julie was very welcoming throughout the process and provided excellent local information.
So glad you enjoyed your visit! We loved having you at Casa Encantada. Come back real soon! We'll have everything ready for you!
