About this property
Beautiful Yr Round Cottage Great Porch, Heart of MTG, Near Hershey, Lititz, Lanc
"The Wander-Inn Pines" cottage is perfectly located in the heart of the camp meeting within walking distance to everything "Mount Gretna". This classic Mount Gretna Cottage dates back to 1910 and was originally named Pine Scents. Our cottage offers three bedrooms, one bath, open floor plan, private parking, and an amazing porch. As you Wander through the first floor of the cottage you’ll find the living room with the original rustic hard wood floors. There is an electric fireplace, and a custom bar that opens into the fully equipped kitchen. Continue into the dining area with a coffee and tea station and expandable table that can seat six. Wander up stairs to the second floor and you’ll find three bedrooms, a bath, and washer and dryer. The spacious Master Bedroom has a Queen sized Timber Framed Bed, knotty pine furniture, and glider chair. The Blue Room has a classic feel with a comfy double bed, art deco dresser, and dry sink. The third room hosts a bunk with a twin on top and a double bed on bottom. It has a games cabinet that looks like a dog, and is a perfect place for kids to chill, laugh, and sleep comfortably. The bath has an oversized shower, vanity, and large toilet. There are hooks throughout all the rooms for robes, towels, etc. We provide linens and comfy towels.
The thing we love the most is our big Mount Gretna porch! There are three areas, so take time to enjoy them all. We have two large swings. The larger swing was a gift for my wife when our son was born. She spent her first Mother’s day with him on that swing. Nowadays we mostly use it for reading, sipping wine, and watching humming birds. The smaller swing was from the family cabin where my wife and her grandmother would sit to read and sing. The lounge area is a great place to relax, chat and have a happy hour if you are so inclined. The outdoor table invites you to take time and relax over a meal. We sit here for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The ceiling fans, wind chimes, and raised porch add to the vibe and call on one to relax, rejuvenate and enjoy life! The Cottage features unique touches, which include handcrafted timber accents from the woods of Mount Gretna and even some of my original sculptures and artwork!
(Sorry, we love furry friends, but we ask that you give them a much needed stay-vacation at home while you are visiting our cottage)

Christy is a music teacher of over 25 years. Cory and Christy both taught locally for years before accepting a Fulbright Fellowship for teacher exchange in England. From there the couple went into international teaching taking their son Jaz along for this amazing cultural experience. Our journey took us to England, Russia, Czech Republic, China, and now Buenos Aires. Today Christy is teaching music at the prestigious Lincoln International school. She is a band teacher and loves to travel and read. Their son Jaz resides in Amsterdam where he attended Univeristy and now works, having lived in five different countries in his 23+ years. You will find a favorite pet, Dakota, represented as a cabinet created by Cory in the kids room!
Cory is an artist. He is a bronze sculptor at heart and in study, but his art practice is interdisciplinary. Cory tells our story through his art as we travel. He finds inspiration in people, place, culture, and time. You might find a few of his pieces here but he is an internationally renowned artist with his pieces collected in many counties by those who love art and the stories his pieces represent. Why they chose this property
Gretna is where we come to reconnect with family and friends. Our jobs have taken us abroad, but this cottage is our home. We have decided to open our humble cottage to you so that you too can share in the unique community of Mount Gretna. We truly believe that not all who Wander are lost. It's how we came to own the cottage. Through unique circumstances we were unable to get back to our home abroad, so we came back home to Gretna on an unplanned extended trip. It was then that we realized it was time to have a place near family and friends. A place for us all to gather. Gretna, as it has been during our entire time abroad, was the perfect place for us to reconnect. It really was fate that brought us home this time as we were wandering the globe. We thank you for Wandering in and sharing in the experience.
What makes this property unique
We love our front porch. It is a great place to relax and recharge. Reading on the swing in the morning, or lounging in the evening, it offers a haven in Mount Gretna. If you want to cozy up inside, you'll find unique wood touches throughout the house. The Live wood treatments under the bar, the stair banister, small window to the dining, and the fire place surround, are all created from wood found on walks in Mount Gretna. Mount gretna is full of artists and master craftsman. One of which is Max Hunsicker, who was Cory's elementary music teacher, now dear friend and master wood worker. These are his touches to our cottage. It demonstrates the amazing community of Mount Gretna. We purchased this house on July 8th from a lovely couple who were ready to pass it on to someone who was going to continue to love the cottage as they did. With the help of family and friends we were able to un-earth the beautiful 100 year old wooden floors and open the space between the living room and kitchen. The Wander-Inn Pines is a true community effort to bring us a home here in Gretna. While we have given as many modern updates as possible to the cottage.... Please remember that these cottages are over 100 years old. They have steep stair cases and shallow steps, and may not be the best places if you struggle going up or down steps. We have placed rails for your assistance. So be aware and please be careful.
