Lazy Bear Lodge…What a lovely family vacation destination!

The Lazy Bear Lodge in Oakland, MD was an awesome summer family vacation destination. The well-equipped house & mountain/lake area had so much to offer for my family of 7 (with our 3 adult children & 2 spouses). We had such a fabulous trip! Thank you to our host, Alayne, who took such good care of us in all of the details & great communication.

Great vacation

The house was very comfortable. We enjoyed hiking at the nearby state park, the local indoor pool (since it was unseasonably cool), the fire pit, and the hot tub. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking for a large group. I recommend this rental.

Amazing Place

Amazing, spacious, quiet property with a ton of amenities for all age groups. Not to far of a drive to the lake and all attractions. Great communication with the property manger which made the trip even more fun and relaxing. Everyone had a great time and want to come back in the future. Would recommend to all friends and family if they come to Deep Creek for vacation.

Perfect Couples Weekend Away

We had a wonderful mom/dad weekend away with friends. Communication and the entire process with Alayne was so easy! The home and property is beautiful and private. We loved the deck and hot tub! Would definitely return!

Winter vacation with family and friends

The property is very nicely furnished. Everything was clean and ready when we arrived. The owners responded to questions quickly, It’s very secluded the way it is built into the hill. The back deck area is a great way to enjoy the peace and quiet. It’s very close to the Swallow Falls trails and the wisp resort. We would stay here again.

Beautiful setting with lots of amenities!

The house was perfect for our four night stay for kids and adults. The basement was a great place for the kids to hang out and give the adults some quiet time. The hot tub and outdoor fireplace were perfect for snow gazing. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a full Easter dinner. All the beds were very comfortable and the Sonos sound system was great.

Lazy bear lodge

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend at the Lazy Bear Lodge 🐻 The house was spacious & had lots of great amenities like the air hockey & pool tables and of course the hot tub and outside fireplace. We took a walk through the woods in the back of the house, which was beautiful. Owners were very responsive to questions. Highly recommend this property.

Tons of family fun

There were 10 of us at our annual summer vacay at Lazy Bear Lodge. All of us had a wonderful time. The young ones didn't want to leave!! The house is very spacious and well equipped with everything we needed. The owner answered all of our questions promptly. Everuone is begging to go back next year!!

loved the trip

We had a wonderful time at DCL. The property owners are very responsive. They have so many wonderful extras and the kitchen is fully stocked for any chef (I loved the crock pots)! The fireplaces are awesome (we were gone so much didn't have time to use them) and we loved the hot tub after long days of skiing. It is a great size for a big group. This would be an awesome place to stay anytime of year because there is also an enormous deck with a big outdoor table. Thank you for a great time.

The Lazy Bear was great!

Very clean, and well stocked! Close to everything but very secluded and relaxing. Surrounded by wild life. Enjoyed the deck fireplace. Hosts went above and beyond to provide information about area attractions. The neighboring state parks were beautiful, all just minutes away. Loved morning coffee on the deck. Grand kids staged a week long ring toss tournament during down time. Great fun.

40th Birthday surprise

Just a quick weekend getaway for my wife and her close friends for my wives 40th birthday. Everything worked out just fine. Bummed we didn't end up using the hot tub however. Very peaceful with no other neighbors near us.

Beautiful home, well-equipped. Great for all ages! The kids really enjoyed playing pool and AirHockey in the basement. Property owner was amazing and responsive; The listing was incredibly detailed enough for me a bottle now but I could make my famous dinner with a crock The listing was incredibly detailed which really helped me know how to pack. Great experience overall!

Perfect Holiday Getaway

Trust your eyes. Seriously, the pictures of this house are only a fragment of the incredible experience you will have staying here. The location is perfectly secluded, quiet and comfortable. The owner does a wonderful job making sure your party has everything they'll need. From the fully stocked kitchen (everything but food) to the mountain of free firewood you'll have access to. Oh, and the Sonos sound system?? Amazing! We had a WONDERFUL weekend visit right before Christmas. When you book, the owner will provide you with an email containing all the info you'll need to know about the house, nearby attractions and conveniences- read it multiple times!. WISP resort is a short drive away <15mins. If you book, take advantage of the complementary State Park parking pass, it's extremely useful for nature lovers and those looking to get in some serious cardio or waterfall views. The house is stocked with just about everything needed for a relaxing trip away. The design finishes are well done and the furniture is comfy. The trail in the back is peaceful, but make sure to take advantage of the firepit. Check-in was easy and the owner was super responsive with questions. We truly felt at home here and we look forward to a return visit.

Wonderful vacation stay !!!

This property is absolutely amazing !!! Everything it features creates an awesome environment for a relaxing, invigorating, overall wonder experience. I would highly recommend The Lazy Bear to any and all whether you want to just chill at home or partake in the local activiies. The house provides all the amenities of being at home. Kitchen supplies were ample and had everything we needed for good home cooked meals. It's a wonderful family location !!!!
