We stayed for 2 nights in September 2026 for family weekend with our college student son. Our family of 4 plus Labrador were completely comfortable. The grounds are fabulous- spacious tree-filled outdoors with full fencing and floating dock. Our kids canoed over to an ultimate frisbee park, we enjoyed our coffee on the back deck, and our dog loved smelling all the smells in the huge backyard. We made use of the fully stocked kitchen, a puzzle and card game, and walking in the safe, quiet neighborhood. We would happily stay again. MUCH better than paying for 2 stuffy hotel rooms with no kitchen. Plenty of clean linens and kitchen supplies, toiletries, paper products, and cleaning supplies. The king bed was very comfortable (we like firm support for our backs and have a purple mattress at home- this was similar). If you like quiet woodsy solitude and sunsets over a lake- this is your place.

Perfect get away! Wondeeful hosts! The home is just as advertised, so lovely and comfortable. The hosts have thought of everything that you could need and more! The beds are comfortable. Sitting on the deck is pure relaxation! Feels like you're miles from anything, yet many things are just minutes away. We should have skipped packing food. Walmart delivery arrived in just 30 minutes! The only downside, you'll be sad to leave the master bathroom behind. Haha! Thanks for sharing a wonderful secluded gem. We loved it!

This was our second time at this house, it's great. They have lots of extras provided and it wasn't too hard to babyproof. Great communication. Would stay again if going to the area.

The house was great, with comfortable beds and a nice yard. The lake was very low during our stay, about a foot deep at the dock.Check-in was delayed because we received an old door code. We eventually got a working one, and the host offered late checkout Sunday, which we appreciated since we were attending a UNC volleyball game.Unfortunately, Sunday morning brought a barrage of texts accusing us of changing the thermostat and damaging the HVAC. We had not touched it. Before I responded, she wrote, “You are starting to damage my HVAC,” told us to “Go take a dip in the lake if you’re hot,” and threatened extra energy charges. She claimed we ignored her instructions, but she never directly gave us any during our calls or texts, and nothing was in the house saying anything about not touching the thermostat.We weren’t complaining about the temperature. We were comfortable, and the weather outside felt pleasant, despite her repeated claims of a heat wave. It was in the 50s in the morning.When I explained we hadn’t changed anything, she suggested our children were responsible and continued insisting someone in our family had done it. It was set to 74 at the lowest I saw and wasn't even on due to the cold outside temps.The repeated accusations and condescending tone made our final morning unnecessarily stressful. We enjoyed the property and appreciated the late checkout, but the host’s communication overshadowed the stay and is the reason for the lower rating.

We had a great time. The home was spacious and clean. We were able to enjoy the back deck and fire pit. Plenty of room for the family. Loved that it was quiet and remote with plenty of outdoor space and things to do. Would definitely stay again.

Great location for college visits. Tons of space for family of 5. Back yard woods with lake. All equipment needed to enjoy it. Decorated very nice and it was really clean. Close to shopping and feels like you are in the wilderness. Definitely would stay again in future.

Relaxing lake retreat

We enjoyed our stay. It was very cozy and relaxing with a beautiful fireplace and views of the lake and nature. Very comfortable home with all amenities. Hope to be back at a later time.

Amazing Hidden Gem

Jaime was amazing to book with, the house was so welcoming, quiet, clean and had everything you could think of, even the little things you might have forgotten. Our family had a wonderful vacation and thanks to this beautiful house it was made better. I would definitely recommend booking with Jaime and would definitely stay at the house longer next time!

Perfection in the Hills(bourough), NC

Jaime is a fabulous host of this amazing property! Everything you could need or want while on vacation is available, and more! The backyard/lakefront is picture perfect, the fire pit and porch lamps provide a great space for family bonding and the neighborhood is quaint and friendly. I hope we will be back soon!!

Vicki, thank you for this review and I’m so sorry to hear about the spider bites. They are particularly active this year despite our best pest control efforts. Not sure if the bug spray we provide would help with that but I’ll warn the next guests. Appreciate you letting me know!!

Beautiful Home with a beautiful View!

We came for my sons USA Baseball and although it rained a lot. We managed to fish, take in the beautiful views of the lake. We even saw several deer! We cooked almost every night. The pots and pans were much appreciated! I would definitely recommend staying here. I hope to be back again soon!

Fantastic home and backyard

Wow, this home and backyard were incredible. Our family spent a long weekend at this peaceful home while we visited Durham attractions and it was perfect. The backyard is really a stunner and perfect for dogs and kids. It’s a private, fenced in woodsy area with lake views - we enjoyed fire pit nights under the backyard string lights. The beds are comfortable and away from the sounds of the living areas. The primary bedroom en-suite bathroom is luxurious and lovely. We will definitely rent again!

Beautiful lake house

We were thrilled with this beautiful lake house on a large wooded property. What a view !! The inside of the house is large, open, and sunny; the expansive back yard with path down to the lake was enclosed by a fence as described, so that our daughter's small dog could run free. House is truly fully stocked. We stayed during the Christmas holidays during a cold snap, but can only imagine what fun it would be to stay in the summer & warm months, to also enjoy the big decks & outdoor seating. This house is a gem. We really enjoyed our stay, that allowed us to be close to our family that lives in the area & to nearby quaint Hillsborough.

We loved the lake front property!!

Our New Year's Eve at this home by the lake was absolutely incredible! I can't stop raving about it. The house is seriously awesome, and the techie bathrooms? Mind-blowing. Our family and dogs had a blast in the fully fenced backyard – a game-changer, especially with the best decks around. And don't get me started on the Master Bedroom – it's like a personal haven with its deck and patio exit, offering the most breathtaking views. I'm already daydreaming about lounging there in the summer. Honestly, I can't recommend this place enough. If you're on the fence, just go for it. We're definitely marking our calendars for a summer return – counting down the days!

Great!

This house is really nice and the listing is accurate. Stocked with lots of essentials in case you forget something. Convenient to food and grocery stores. Good communication with the host and check in/out was super easy. My husband caught several fish in the lake including a 12 lb catfish. We had a great time and would definitely stay here again!

Gorgeous backyard lake view

Everything was well labelled. Checkout procedure was easy. Neighborhood was quiet and it was a pleasure to just sit on the back deck and watch nature.

Beautiful property! Great location- not far from town but feels private and secluded. The bed was very comfortable and the hosts have stocked their home with everything you need to have an enjoyable stay.
