Wonderful getaway!
Tandem House is a wonderful home away. The location is great and we enjoyed walking to town and playing at the parks close to the house with the kids. We enjoyed visiting local wineries and eating at some local favorites. Look forward to a return visit!

Great House in Walla Walla!
What a great place to spend the weekend. The house is comfortable and very tastefully remodeled. It is perfect for sipping wine and cooking a nice dinner. And the location was ideal for our family. The park nearby is great, just half a block away. We can't wait to return for another wine weekend.

Glad you enjoyed the house and your stay in Walla Walla!
This is a wonderful house in a beautiful neighborhood close to Pioneer Park and a short walk into historic downtown Walla Walla and Whitman College. The house is incredibly spacious with a gorgeous, well-equipped kitchen, a living room and separate t.v. den, We loved everything about the house, and would love to stay again. The backyard is nice as well with outdoor furniture. We walked into town each evening for dinner and it was perfect!

Worth every penny!
Had a super stay at the Tandom House. Very spacious and clean. Great location close to downtown, but on a very quiet street. Everything was exactly as expected. Highly recommended.
Tandem House had all the amenities, a comforting gathering zone both indoors and outside, a lovely garden to feel zen in, central and close to everything. The bikes were an extra slice of fun for exploring the cute town of Walla Walla when not hanging out at the wineries. The host was responsive and helpful as well! Would definitely return.

Great place in classic Walla Walla neighborhood
Have stayed at many vacation rentals over the years, and this ranks with the best of them. It was well suited for our group. We had six adults and two small children. We enjoyed biking and walking through the neighborhoods, and enjoying the world class wine. We would definately consider staying here again next time we're in Walla Walla.

Delightful ladies wine weekend getaway!
Tandem House provided the perfect home base for our ladies wine weekend adventures. We were able to walk to Main street for wine tastings, a delicious dinner as Brasserie Four, and some shopping. The private back patio provided the perfect spot for late afternoon drinks and the spacious and well equipped kitchen allowed us to prepare a delicious dinner at home our second night. We would definitely stay at Tandem House again!

This is the first time I have stayed in a VRBO that was nicer than the pictures/description. The kitchen was oversized and very well appointed. All bathrooms were huge given the age of the home. We walked to the park and town several times with ease.

Couples' Wine Weekend
Tandem House was the perfect weekend retreat for our wine tasting weekend. The location is perfect in the older part of Walla Walla, close to downtown. Each room was very comfortable and with 3 full baths; plenty of privacy. The kitchen is well appointed with everything you'll need to cook a meal. Recently remodeled, the updates are lovely, in keeping with its original craftsman styling. We would stay here again and highly recommended Tandem House.

We just got back from a girl's getaway, 5 girls all staying at the Tandem House! When we first opened the door, we were so pleased with the huge, amazing kitchen and great layout! The bathrooms were all updated and clean, the beds were great and we loved staying in an old home! We walked into town, rode bikes, etc. Such a great place, will definitely stay here again!

Great place to stay
When the 6 of us get together it's always a fun time. Being together in the Tandem House for three full days was almost magical. We had a great time cooking in that amazing kitchen! Even just sitting at the table drinking wine and laughing was special. And we loved discovering the game, Shut the Box.
The house is well appointed, and the kitchen well stocked. We enjoyed an evening in the back yard on very comfortable patio furniture. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a place on a quiet street, but in a great location.

perfect
This is house was perfect for 3 couples for a weekend of wine tasting and golf. It looks to be recently redone inside and was very clean. Nice open design downstairs is perfect for a larger group to cook or socialize. The owners report having a recent theft from the garage (including a couple of the tandem bikes it seems) so they do have a security camera mounted there. Very nice neighborhood however and close to town.

Perfect Stay!
Couples wine trip to Walla Walla. The house was in a nice quiet neighborhood and was fun to walk or bike into town from. Enjoyed bocce ball at the house and over at the Pioneer Park near by. Bocce ball better with drinks at the house! House more spacious than the pictures show.
We are anxious to come back again and would definitely stay here again! Owners very responsive and we had absolutely no problems. Made us think about how nice it would be to live in a small town and quiet neigborhood again! Plenty of bikes in the garage for everyone!

Great house, great location!
A group of 6 women rented this house for a girl's weekend in Walla Walla. We initially thought we wanted to stay downtown to be close to the action, but we were so happy with this location. The street was tree-lined and very quiet, yet still within very easy biking/driving distance to everything (downtown, Whitman campus, wineries, etc). The house itself is beautifully restored - even better than the pictures show - and fit the 6 of us very comfortably. We didn't cook meals, but the kitchen appeared to be well stocked and well maintained. Given that we were there in 95 degree heat, the AC was a blessing as well. The owners were very responsive to our needs and we will stay here again next time!

Awesome house!
Visited Walla Walla for my birthday with my wife and two other couples. House was fantastic and true to its description and pics. The family has done an amazing job remodeling the house and we'll definitely return. Our favorite was the kitchen and how the house feels like it's lived in and not just a rental. Our best VRBO rental yet!
Our only problem (very minor) was the two twin beds for our third couple. Too bad there isn't a pad or something to join the beds :( They did survive and we all had a great time. Thanks so much. cheers.

Wonderful house with a nice big kitchen!
I loved the neighborhood and the house. The updates to the kitchen and baths are so appreciated. We were there to work but one of our little group took advantage the the available bikes.
I would have loved to have found a case, I like having flowers when staying away, and the kitchen knives were really junk. One of the reasons we get a house when working out of town is to be able to make our own breakfasts and lunches, so decent kitchen implements are important.
I would definitely like to rent this house again, but will bring my own knives and my Keurig!
Thank you for sharing this beautiful home with us!!

About the host
Hosted by Julie Rathbun
My wife grew up in Walla Walla and I met her while attending Whitman College. We love it there and try to get back as often as we can. We also love cycling and can make great recommendations for area rides, restaurants and other fun activities. Thanks for checking out our house.
Why they chose this property
Walla Walla is one of the greatest areas in the state for being outdoors, cycling, fishing, hunting and close to skiing at Bluewood in the Winter months. Of course Walla Walla is also home to some national and internationally renowned wineries and up and coming restaurants.
What makes this property unique
The Tandem House is located by the historic Pioneer Park. The park was designed by John Olmstead, who designed Central Park in New York, as well as numerous other Parks in Washington and Oregon. The Park is home to some state and national record trees. Tandem House is walking distance to Whitman College (10 min) and downtown (15-20 min). We also stock the garage with 3 speed bikes to explore the town on.
