About this property

Paradise on Golden Lake

Wake up to the beautiful view of Golden Lake, and go to sleep with the beautiful sunsets. Canoes, kayaks and standup paddle boards available for use on the beach. The cottage is within walking distance of 2 restaurants, within 60 minutes of Algonquin park, 60 minutes of whitewater rafting, within 25 minutes to many little gift shops in Barry's Bay like GIft it Gray! Polish settlement and restaurant in Wilno, and a Schnitzel (Granary)house in Eganville. Chinese food across the highway! Bonnechere river is a few minutes up the lake with wonderful colours in the fall and fish! Lots of hiking trails and lots of snowmobile and ATV trails from the cottage. Cottage is equipped with anything you will need wit AC and a generac if the hydro should go out. There are 2 museums and endless hiking trails in Algonquin Park. Churches in the are a large Polish Catholic Church on Wilno hill, several Protestant churches in Killaloe and Golden Lake and Family Life Christian Centre in Barry’s Bay! Many of these churches can be found on Facebook. Grocery stores in Killaloe, Barry’s bay and Eganville! Banks in Killaloe, Barry’s bay and Eganville! If there is anything else you are looking for just message us.

This is a very nice property with a great view of the lake. Very quick response from the owner. I would definitely recommend this cottage and will rent again if ever we are in that area.

We greatly enjoyed our week at the cottage. The view is wonderful and the water is amazing, crystal clear and gorgeous to swim in. Cottage is well stocked with anything you could need, especially the kitchen. There were a few small maintenance issues but nothing that affected our overall stay. Host was easy to communicate with and quick to respond.

The pictures did not portray the actual property. The kitchen was so over crowded with stuff that counter space was negligible. Every cupboard was full so no room for your food items. Tvs in the bedrooms didnt work. Lightbulbs out in numerous rooms. Outlets in main bedroom didnt work. Not enough outlets for charging phones etc. which also was extremely slow. Hosts were there still cleaning on arrival almost 1.5 hrs after we arrived. Then we have people show up on one day then deliveries on another day with the hosts still there. And host showing up on another day. The stairs to the dock have plants growing out between the stairs. Missing a board at the bottom and boards on the dock need replacing. Also the closets in the bedrooms are locked so you cant hang anything up. There is so much stuff everywhere that you will struggle to place even a coffee cup.
