Happy Holidays/Joyeuses fêtes

We had a lovely holiday here. The house was perfect for the 8 of us: two grandparents, two parents and four grown up girls. The girls used the two bedrooms on one side of the house and the older adults used the two bedrooms on the other side of the house. The WiFi signal was good too. We used the hot tub a couple of times but the weather was so good we went to the beach a lot and swam in the sea. There is a coastguard service on parts of the beach during high season. The beach is huge the tide comes right the way in and goes out quite far. We loved it. Plenty of places to eat too. Local SPAR shop does decent baguettes and there is a Pain Depot in another shop they had nice baguettes too. Supermarket at Marquis 10 minutes drive and Cité Europe 20 minutes drive. Highly recommended holiday home. Tip: We own a hot tub ourselves so we recommend, to anyone planning on using it, to not use too much detergent when washing your swimming costumes before arrival and not to use fabric softener - it can make the water cloudy. Also shower before entering (Frederique also requests this) and you will have a lovely hot tub all week/s. ( We took separate costumes for the sea and the tub.) Frederique is very helpful and readily available via WhatsApp should you have any queries issues or worries whilst on holiday. Thanks Frederique.

Geschmackvoll eingerichtet, laute Umgebung und ein Disput ...

Das Haus liegt im Touristenort Wissant direkt an einer Hauptstrasse. Der Ortsstrand ist bergab zu Fuß schnell erreichbar (10 - 15 min.), einen kleinen Supermarkt (frische Backwaren, regionale Produkte), der auch sonntags geöffnet ist, erreicht man in fünf Minuten zu Fuß. Von außen sieht das Objekt aus unserer Sicht nicht besonders attraktiv aus. Die Innenausstattung ist jedoch sehr geschmackvoll und neu! Es ist auch, was in der Beschreibung nicht erwähnt wird, eine zweite kleine Toilette ohne Waschbecken vorhanden. Ob die gelbliche Wasserfarbe und -qualität des Whirlpools in Ordnung ist, können wir nicht beurteilen. Wir hatten jedoch keine außergewöhnlichen Hautreaktionen ... Bei Ankunft wird man durch das Haus geführt, und die wichtigsten Dinge werden erklärt - auf französisch ... Insgesamt hatten wir eine schöne Woche. Aber ... - Die Vorderseite des Hauses liegt direkt an einer Hauptstrasse mit zeitweise sehr lautem Verkehr. - Auf der Rückseite des Hauses leben (mindestens) zwei Hunde mehrmals täglich - auch gerne einmal früh morgens - minutenlang laut bellend ihre Feindschaft aus. - Dieses Objekt war das sechste, das wir bei FeWo-direkt gebucht haben, über andere Anbieter noch viele andere. Noch niemals vorher wurde uns im Nachhinein etwas in Rechnung gestellt, obwohl hier und da einmal ein Glas etc. kaputtgegangen ist. Hier wurde uns von der Vermieterin ohne vorherige Rücksprache ein namhafter Betrag von der Kreditkarte abgebucht. Ein Glas und eine Tasse sind während unseres Aufenthaltes zu Bruch gegangen. Ein kleiner Sonnenschirm ohne Fuß fehlte angeblich, eventuell "Vom Winde verweht". Und schließlich soll ein kleiner Schlüssel für einen Kleiderschrank gefehlt haben. Wir haben sogar unser Gepäck danach durchsucht. Was sollen wir mit einem Schrankschlüssel anfangen???? Nach Kontakt mit der Vermieterin einigten wir uns darauf, dass wir - um des lieben Friedens willen - für etwas mehr als die Hälfte des ursprünglichen Betrags für die Neubeschaffung eines Sonnenschirms aufkommen. Leider wurde - entgegen unserer Absprache und ohne vorherige Ankündigung - dennoch der ursprünglich geforderte hohe Betrag abgebucht. Ein Bruch unserer Vereinbarung und definitiv nicht "die feine 'französische' Art" ... Dieser sehr unangenehme Vorfall wird eine unserer Erinnerungen an diesen Urlaub in Wissant, Frankreich, bleiben. P.S. Ein Dank geht raus an die Übersetzungstools im Internet!
