Great location. Easy beach access. Large fenced in backyard, however house is a little outdated, and needs new beds. There is a large tree branch obstructing The driveway access. Almost wrecked my truck pulling in. My truck is not lifted in any way. Lots of extra fees not included with VRBO booking. Not worth it.
Quaint house. Outdated but met our needs. No Wi-Fi available and it would have been nice. Large property and backyard. Landscaping needs a little manicuring but yard was great for the spa, relaxing, and dogs to run around in. Nice short walk to the public beach path. The beach path is muddy and missing the last few stairs, but that's not the fault of the property owner. Great location and short drive to Noyo Harbor, Grocery stores, and Downtown. Would definitely consider staying there again.
Great Home Away From Home
I spent a wonderful 4 nights in Fort Bragg. The property was more charming in person than in the pictures. The kitchen had nearly everything I needed to make dinner dinner for my family every night.
The guest book showed that some people had been coming back to Taylor's Grove for years. I will become on of those people.
Nicely appointed little home. Bed in the 2nd bedroom was debilitating....could hardly stand up straight when I got out of it in the morning.
Spacious, charming, well equipped home with beautiful gardens! Some issues, but we still loved it.
What we loved:
Pet-friendly! Our two dogs were very welcome and happy. They loved the yard.
Space-there was plenty of room to spread out, with a sofa and two lounge chairs in the main room.
Garden- the winding paths and whimsical sculptures were classic Mendo-boho. Charming!
Location: it’s tucked away yet close to the main road and all the sights.
Kitchen: we cooked our own meals and had everything we needed (couldn’t find a can opener but we improvised)
Hot tub-it was lovely to soak in the tub and watch the hummingbirds (it was not hot enough for us but my son figured out how to adjust the temperature).
Others should know:
There is no internet! It was listed in the ad and there were signs with a password but we couldn’t get it to work. The property manager explained that it was “intermittent”, basically nonexistent. Since it was important to us, the owner refunded our data charges.
The yard is *not* secure for dogs. While it is fenced, much of the fencing is plastic deer mesh that our dogs could wriggle under or break through, so we watched them all the time they were out.
Allergies-the house has a faint musty smell typical of Northern California beach homes that don’t have much insulation and it triggered my son’s allergies. If you are allergic, consider taking allergy meds before you arrive.
Despite these issues, we really enjoyed our stay!
Thank you for staying at Taylor’s Grove.
We’re glad that you enjoyed the home and the location.
Internet is no longer available at the home; although there is good cell reception. We will be talking to the owners and hope that WiFi can be offered in the future.
The yard is not secure for the dogs - there is no fencing advertised, but the home is definitely pet friendly.
We hope you’ll come and stay again.
