Plan on driving your own vehicles. Getting share rides to take you to the home is not difficult. However, getting a driver to pick you up at the house for excursions is difficult.



The roads are easy to drive. The driveway is steep but completely paved and there is room to turn your car around up top before driving back down.

The property is situated perfectly to view the mountain range from the porch or the living room! The house is very well-maintained and clean! There is plenty of space for people to either spread out or gather together. There were four of us staying here, and we all appreciated having our own bedrooms and bathrooms!

Vacay at Apple Valley

Pics do not do this beautiful house and property justice! It was amazing! The only complaint we have is the water pressure. We were excited to have 4 bathrooms with our large family, but unfortunately, you could only run or use one thing at a time or the water pressure went down to a trickle. Everything else exceeded expectations and we fell in love with it instantly!

Apple Valley Chateau

This house was great for our family. Nice place to relax and just a quick drive to nearby Asheville. Our family had plenty of room and enjoyed the games, puzzles and pool table. The little ones enjoyed the upstairs play area too. Great place!

Family vacation

Our multi-family vacation was wonderful at this property. We had 6 adults, 10 children, and had plenty of space. There were multiple play spaces for the children, and plenty of space to spread out. The home was beautiful, and exceeded expectations. This is a wonderful home to book for a family vacation.

Family Christmas 2024

Spectacular property. Beautifully furnished, great mattresses! They had everything we needed for a family of 13. Play room loft for the little kids was special bonus. Game room downstairs kept the big “kids” happy. It has a remote feel, but close to everything we wanted or needed. Highly recommend.

AWESOME!

Four generations stayed for our daughter's wedding in Asheville; everyone thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of the visit and home. We had adequate room to gather, and for privacy, and it was very comfortable. It was the perfect location for our gathering and we are so grateful for having such a beautiful space to celebrate together for a wonderful event.

Spacious, clean mountain retreat.

House is spacious with several amenities making the stay fun for children and adults. Screened in back porch with functional fireplace was nice for the evenings. Our children enjoyed exploring the fairly expansive property as well.

Great spot for a race weekend away!

From check-in to check-out, we had a great stay! Appreciate the friendliness and responsiveness of the owner. Only hiccup we had was running out of hot water (not sure if tankless systems are an option here?!), but that's what happens when 12 ladies need to shower after running for 12 hours!

Beautiful

Celebrated my 50th birthday with family. 9 adults 7 kids. Plenty of room. The house and property were beautiful. Everyone loved it there and loved the views. The coffee bar was a big hit. Hope to stay again.

An amazing house!!!

Me, My children and grandchildren get together every 4th of July week for a family time. We have done this ever since my husband passed away. The kids all live in different locations so this time together is spent sitting and talking l, playing games, and hiking. This house was PERFECT for such an event! I highly recommend this home!!!

We had 2 grandparents and 3/3 children/spouses for a total of 8 adults; 13 yo teenager, 4 from 4–11 and 3 under 2. House had a great playroom in the loft. Fun room for adults to older kids in basement. Kitchen well stocked on a beautiful piece of land.

Amazing House and the friendliest host

This house was amazing. It offered beautiful views and the quietness of the mountains. The house has bedrooms on three different levels, which allowed for our kids to stay upstairs, while the late night owls stayed on the bottom floor. The hostess is so very kind! She kept up with us and we felt very open to communicate with her if we needed! Definitely worth staying at this property! 10/10!

Family relaxation

The property was stunning! The view off the front porch was one we didn't want to leave and took every opportunity to enjoy! The rooms were spacious and our group of 15 had more than enough sleeping options. The kitchen was very well equipped and allowed us to prepare family meals and with room for everyone. The outdoor patio was enjoyed very much on a wet soggy evening in front of the fireplace. Communication with the host (Sarah) was very timely and productive. We can't wait to come back !! Relaxing week in Apple valley

Nice stay and we ended up spending a lot of time indoor due to closures of most of the popular hikes and drives in area due to hurricane damage. We cooked family meals and used the basement and pool table daily ! We found some games and puzzles on our last day in the drawers and enjoyed those too! The kids loved the play room! We wished for a fire pit , the fireplace was nice but didn’t give us the same vibe and wished for a gas grill on the back porch so grilling would not be so far from family. The host was nice enough to get some platters and pots delivered to us when we couldn’t find lids for pots and got the internet fixed when it went out within a few hours ! Good place to be disconnected or connected however you decide to spend your day !

Disappointment

The day we were leaving the owner called to say the property was double booked. After moving some other people she did provide us with another house. After arriving and unpacking we discovered there wasn't any water. I called a person who was supposed to help with problems. They sent a handy man started work of the pump for the well. We thought it would be fixed shortly. We bought groceries only to discover that the well was not fixed. We had to spend the night in a house with no water. VBRO would not help us because we were not in the original house. The owner called VBRO and received different instructions then what we were told. We ended up going to the first house to shower and sleep that night. We had to be out by ten because the other party was arriving., keep our food in the 2nd house, get the owner to cancel our first contract so we could rent a third house. The well needed a part not readily available. The owner did refund our money and allowed us to keep our food in the 2nd house as the 3rd house was not available until 4 PM. VRBO did nothing to help in the situation and a crisis team that was supposed to call us never did.

Our host, Sage, was outstanding. He provided a beautiful property along with great amenities and excellent service. The house sits on a beautiful landscaped yard, although the drive leading to it is kind of steep. It actually made a good morning workout for my wife and me. With four spacious bedrooms and a bathroom in each one, nobody felt left out. The layout of the house gave everyone all the privacy they needed and the family rooms and game room gave us time to be together. We will certainly come back and stay at this property again!

Wedding Weekend

We booked Apple Valley Chateau for our extended family of 14. The property was clean and exactly as pictured. There was plenty of space for eveyone. The extra amenities such as soap, toilet paper, shampoo, and such was very much appreciated. We had plenty of dishes and cooking utensils so we ate all our meals at the house. Sarah was quick to respond to my calls/texts and checked in to be sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to stay in the area.
